Danach hörte ich im Himmel viele Stimmen wie von einer großen Menschenmenge. Sie riefen: »Halleluja — lobt den Herrn! In ihm allein ist alles Heil, unserem Gott gehört alle Macht und Herrlichkeit!
For true and righteous are his judgments: for he hath judged the great whore, which did corrupt the earth with her fornication, and hath avenged the blood of his servants at her hand.
Er ist der unbestechliche und gerechte Richter. Er hat sein Urteil über die große Hure vollstreckt, die mit ihren Verführungskünsten die ganze Welt verdorben hat. Für das Blut seiner Diener, das an ihren Händen klebte, zog er sie zur Rechenschaft.«
And again they said, Alleluia. And her smoke rose up for ever and ever.
Und wieder riefen sie: »Halleluja — lobt den Herrn! Bis in alle Ewigkeit wird der Rauch dieser brennenden Stadt zum Himmel aufsteigen.«
And the four and twenty elders and the four beasts fell down and worshipped God that sat on the throne, saying, Amen; Alleluia.
Da fielen die vierundzwanzig Ältesten und die vier mächtigen Gestalten vor dem Thron Gottes nieder. Sie beteten Gott an und riefen: »Amen! Lobt den Herrn. Halleluja!«
And a voice came out of the throne, saying, Praise our God, all ye his servants, and ye that fear him, both small and great.
Jetzt erklang vom Thron eine Stimme: »Rühmt unseren Gott — alle, ob groß oder klein, die ihr Ehrfurcht vor ihm habt und ihm dient!«
The Marriage of the Lamb
And I heard as it were the voice of a great multitude, and as the voice of many waters, and as the voice of mighty thunderings, saying, Alleluia: for the Lord God omnipotent reigneth.

Und wieder hörte ich viele Stimmen wie von einer großen Menschenmenge: gewaltig wie das Tosen einer mächtigen Brandung und wie lautes Donnergrollen. Sie riefen: »Halleluja — lobt den Herrn! Denn der allmächtige Gott, unser Herr, hat seine Herrschaft angetreten.
Let us be glad and rejoice, and give honour to him: for the marriage of the Lamb is come, and his wife hath made herself ready.
Wir wollen uns freuen, jubeln und Gott ehren. Jetzt ist der große Hochzeitstag des Lammes gekommen; seine Braut hat sich dafür bereitgemacht!
And to her was granted that she should be arrayed in fine linen, clean and white: for the fine linen is the righteousness of saints.
In reines, strahlend weißes Leinen durfte sie sich kleiden.« Das Leinen ist ein Bild für die gerechten Taten der Menschen, die zu Gott gehören.
And he saith unto me, Write, Blessed are they which are called unto the marriage supper of the Lamb. And he saith unto me, These are the true sayings of God.
Dann befahl mir der Engel: »Schreib: ›Glücklich, wer zum Hochzeitsfest des Lammes eingeladen ist!‹« Und er fügte hinzu: »Gott selbst hat das gesagt, und seine Worte sind zuverlässig!«
And I fell at his feet to worship him. And he said unto me, See thou do it not: I am thy fellowservant, and of thy brethren that have the testimony of Jesus: worship God: for the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy.
Da fiel ich vor dem Engel nieder und wollte ihn anbeten. Aber er wehrte ab und sagte: »Nein, tu das nicht! Ich diene Gott ebenso wie du und deine Geschwister, die ihr euch zu Jesus bekennt. Bete allein Gott an! Denn das Wesen jeder prophetischen Botschaft ist es, auf Jesus hinzuweisen.«
The Rider on the White Horse
And I saw heaven opened, and behold a white horse; and he that sat upon him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness he doth judge and make war.

Da öffnete sich der Himmel vor meinen Augen, und ich sah ein weißes Pferd. Der darauf saß, heißt »der Treue und Wahrhaftige«. Es ist der gerechte Richter, der für die Gerechtigkeit kämpft!
His eyes were as a flame of fire, and on his head were many crowns; and he had a name written, that no man knew, but he himself.
Seine Augen leuchteten wie flammendes Feuer, und sein Kopf war mit vielen Kronen geschmückt. Der Reiter trug einen Namen, den nur er selbst kannte.
And he was clothed with a vesture dipped in blood: and his name is called The Word of God.
Sein Gewand war mit Blut getränkt, und sein Name lautete: »das Wort Gottes«.
And the armies which were in heaven followed him upon white horses, clothed in fine linen, white and clean.
Die Heere des Himmels folgten ihm auf weißen Pferden. Sie alle trugen Gewänder aus reinem, strahlend weißem Leinen.
And out of his mouth goeth a sharp sword, that with it he should smite the nations: and he shall rule them with a rod of iron: and he treadeth the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God.
Aus dem Mund des Reiters kam ein scharfes Schwert, mit dem er die Völker besiegt. Er wird mit eisernem Zepter über sie herrschen. Und wie beim Keltern der Saft aus den Trauben gepresst wird, so wird er sie zertreten, und sie werden den furchtbaren Zorn des allmächtigen Gottes zu spüren bekommen.
And he hath on his vesture and on his thigh a name written, KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS.
Auf seinem Gewand, an der Hüfte, stand der Name: »König über alle Könige! Herr über alle Herren!«
Defeat of the Beast and False Prophet
And I saw an angel standing in the sun; and he cried with a loud voice, saying to all the fowls that fly in the midst of heaven, Come and gather yourselves together unto the supper of the great God;

Dann sah ich einen Engel, umstrahlt vom Sonnenlicht. Mit lauter Stimme rief er allen Vögeln zu, die hoch am Himmel flogen: »Kommt her! Versammelt euch zum großen Festmahl, das Gott bereitet hat.
That ye may eat the flesh of kings, and the flesh of captains, and the flesh of mighty men, and the flesh of horses, and of them that sit on them, and the flesh of all men, both free and bond, both small and great.
Stürzt euch auf das Fleisch der Könige, der Heerführer und aller Mächtigen dieser Erde. Fresst das Fleisch der Pferde und ihrer Reiter, das Fleisch der Herren und der Sklaven, der Großen und der Kleinen.«
And I saw the beast, and the kings of the earth, and their armies, gathered together to make war against him that sat on the horse, and against his army.
Dann sah ich das Tier und die Herrscher der Erde. Mit ihren Armeen waren sie angetreten, um gegen den Reiter auf dem weißen Pferd und gegen sein Heer zu kämpfen.
And the beast was taken, and with him the false prophet that wrought miracles before him, with which he deceived them that had received the mark of the beast, and them that worshipped his image. These both were cast alive into a lake of fire burning with brimstone.
Doch das Tier wurde ergriffen und mit ihm der falsche Prophet. Der hatte im Auftrag des Tieres die Wunder getan und damit alle verführt, die das Zeichen des Tieres angenommen und seine Statue angebetet hatten. Bei lebendigem Leib wurden beide — das Tier und der Lügenprophet — in einen See voller brennendem Schwefel geworfen.
And the remnant were slain with the sword of him that sat upon the horse, which sword proceeded out of his mouth: and all the fowls were filled with their flesh.
Die anderen wurden mit dem Schwert getötet, das aus dem Mund des Reiters auf dem weißen Pferd kam. Und alle Vögel fraßen sich satt an ihrem Fleisch.
