Babylon Controls Jehoiakim
In his days Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon came up, and Jehoiakim became his servant for three years; then he turned and rebelled against him.

Während Jojakims Regierungszeit schickte König Nebukadnezar von Babylonien seine Truppen gegen Juda und zwang Jojakim, sich ihm zu unterwerfen. Doch nach drei Jahren lehnte Jojakim sich auf und sagte sich von Nebukadnezar los.
The LORD sent against him bands of Chaldeans, bands of Arameans, bands of Moabites, and bands of Ammonites. So He sent them against Judah to destroy it, according to the word of the LORD which He had spoken through His servants the prophets.
Da ließ der HERR Räuberbanden aus Babylonien, Syrien, Moab und Ammon in Juda einfallen, um Juda zugrunde zu richten. Es sollte sich erfüllen, was der HERR durch seine Diener, die Propheten, angekündigt hatte.
Surely at the command of the LORD it came upon Judah, to remove them from His sight because of the sins of Manasseh, according to all that he had done,

Jehoiachin Reigns
So Jehoiakim slept with his fathers, and Jehoiachin his son became king in his place.
Als er starb, trat sein Sohn Jojachin die Nachfolge an.
The king of Egypt did not come out of his land again, for the king of Babylon had taken all that belonged to the king of Egypt from the brook of Egypt to the river Euphrates.

Jojachin wurde mit 18 Jahren König und regierte drei Monate in Jerusalem. Seine Mutter hieß Nehuschta und war eine Tochter von Elnatan aus Jerusalem.
He did evil in the sight of the LORD, according to all that his father had done.
Jojachin tat, was dem HERRN missfiel, genau wie sein Vater.
Deportation to Babylon
At that time the servants of Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon went up to Jerusalem, and the city came under siege.
Während seiner Regierungszeit marschierten die Truppen des babylonischen Königs Nebukadnezar nach Jerusalem und bauten einen Wall um die Stadt.
And Nebuchadnezzar the king of Babylon came to the city, while his servants were besieging it.
Nebukadnezar kam selbst nach Jerusalem, während seine Soldaten die Stadt noch belagerten.
Jehoiachin the king of Judah went out to the king of Babylon, he and his mother and his servants and his captains and his officials. So the king of Babylon took him captive in the eighth year of his reign.
Da ergab sich Jojachin. Zusammen mit seiner Mutter, seinen Dienern, Offizieren und Hofbeamten stellte er sich dem König von Babylonien, der ihn sofort gefangen nahm. Dies geschah im 8. Regierungsjahr von Nebukadnezar.
He carried out from there all the treasures of the house of the LORD, and the treasures of the king’s house, and cut in pieces all the vessels of gold which Solomon king of Israel had made in the temple of the LORD, just as the LORD had said.
Was der HERR angekündigt hatte, erfüllte sich nun: Nebukadnezar ließ alle Schätze aus dem Tempel des HERRN und aus dem Palast holen, auch die goldenen Gefäße, die Salomo, der König von Israel, hatte anfertigen lassen.
Then he led away into exile all Jerusalem and all the captains and all the mighty men of valor, ten thousand captives, and all the craftsmen and the smiths. None remained except the poorest people of the land.
Die Oberschicht von Jerusalem führte er in die Verbannung: alle Offiziere und erfahrenen Soldaten, alle Schmiede und Schlosser, insgesamt 10.000 Gefangene. Zurück blieb nur das einfache Volk.
So he led Jehoiachin away into exile to Babylon; also the king’s mother and the king’s wives and his officials and the leading men of the land, he led away into exile from Jerusalem to Babylon.
Auch König Jojachin kam als Gefangener nach Babylonien und mit ihm seine Mutter, seine Frauen, die Hofbeamten und alle wohlhabenden Bürger des Landes.
All the men of valor, seven thousand, and the craftsmen and the smiths, one thousand, all strong and fit for war, and these the king of Babylon brought into exile to Babylon.
Nebukadnezar ließ 7000 Soldaten und 1000 Schmiede und Schlosser, alles erfahrene und tüchtige Leute, nach Babylonien verschleppen.
Zedekiah Made King
Then the king of Babylon made his uncle Mattaniah king in his place, and changed his name to Zedekiah.
In Jerusalem setzte er an Jojachins Stelle Mattanja als König ein. Mattanja war der Onkel von Jojachin, der Bruder seines Vaters. Nebukadnezar änderte seinen Namen in Zedekia.
Zedekiah was twenty-one years old when he became king, and he reigned eleven years in Jerusalem; and his mother’s name was Hamutal the daughter of Jeremiah of Libnah.
Zedekia wurde mit 21 Jahren König und regierte elf Jahre in Jerusalem. Seine Mutter hieß Hamutal und war eine Tochter von Jirmeja aus Libna.
He did evil in the sight of the LORD, according to all that Jehoiakim had done.
Wie Jojakim tat auch Zedekia, was dem HERRN missfiel.
For through the anger of the LORD this came about in Jerusalem and Judah until He cast them out from His presence. And Zedekiah rebelled against the king of Babylon.
Der HERR war voller Zorn über die Bewohner von Jerusalem und Juda, und so verstieß er sie aus seiner Nähe. Auch Zedekia lehnte sich gegen die Herrschaft des babylonischen Königs auf.
