Israel’s Obstinacy
“Hear this, O house of Jacob, who are named Israel
And who came forth from the loins of Judah,
Who swear by the name of the LORD
And invoke the God of Israel,
But not in truth nor in righteousness.

Hört dies, Haus Jakob, die sich nach dem Namen Israels nennen und aus den Wassern Judas hervorgegangen sind, die schwören beim Namen des HERRN und den Gott Israels bekennen, aber nicht in Wahrheit und Gerechtigkeit!
“For they call themselves after the holy city
And lean on the God of Israel;

Ja, nach der Heiligen Stadt nennen sie sich und stützen sich auf den Gott Israels, HERR der Heerscharen ist sein Name.
“I declared the former things long ago

Was früher war, hatte ich schon längst im Voraus verkündet, es kam aus meinem Mund, ich ließ es hören; plötzlich habe ich gehandelt und es traf ein.
“Because I know that you are obstinate,
And your neck is an iron sinew
And your forehead bronze,

Weil ich wusste, dass du halsstarrig bist, dass dein Nacken eiserne Sehnen hat und deine Stirn aus Bronze ist,
Therefore I declared them to you long ago,

So that you would not say, ‘My idol has done them,
And my graven image and my molten image have commanded them.’

hatte ich es dir schon längst im Voraus verkündet; ich ließ es dich hören, bevor es geschah, damit du nicht sagst: Mein Götterbild hat das vollbracht, mein geschnitztes und gegossenes Bild hat es befohlen.
“You have heard; look at all this.
And you, will you not declare it?
I proclaim to you new things from this time,
Even hidden things which you have not known.

Du hast es gehört. Betrachte dies alles! Und ihr, wollt ihr nicht verkünden? Von jetzt an lasse ich dich etwas Neues hören, etwas Verborgenes, von dem du nichts weißt.
“They are created now and not long ago;
And before today you have not heard them,
So that you will not say, ‘Behold, I knew them.’

Eben erst ist es erschaffen, nicht schon vor langer Zeit. Zuvor hast du nichts erfahren davon, damit du nicht sagst: Das habe ich längst schon gewusst.

Even from long ago your ear has not been open,
Because I knew that you would deal very treacherously;
And you have been called a rebel from birth.

Du hast davon nichts gehört und gewusst, dein Ohr war von Anfang an nicht offen. Denn ich wusste, dass du völlig treulos bist, man nennt dich abtrünnig vom Mutterleib an.
“For the sake of My name I delay My wrath,
And for My praise I restrain it for you,
In order not to cut you off.
And for My praise I restrain it for you,

Doch um meines Namens willen halte ich meinen Zorn lange zurück, um meines Ruhmes willen halte ich an mich zu deinen Gunsten, um dich nicht vernichten zu müssen.
“Behold, I have refined you, but not as silver;
I have tested you in the furnace of affliction.
I have tested you in the furnace of affliction.
Siehe, ich habe dich geläutert, doch nicht um Silber: Ich habe dich erwählt im Schmelzofen des Elends.
“For My own sake, for My own sake, I will act;
For how can My name be profaned?
And My glory I will not give to another.
For how can My name be profaned?

Nur um meinetwillen handle ich, denn sonst würde mein Name entweiht; ich überlasse die Ehre, die mir gebührt, keinem andern.
Deliverance Promised
“Listen to Me, O Jacob, even Israel whom I called;
I am He, I am the first, I am also the last.
Höre auf mich, Jakob, Israel, mein Berufener: Ich bin es, ich, der Erste und auch der Letzte.
“Surely My hand founded the earth,
And My right hand spread out the heavens;
When I call to them, they stand together.

Meine Hand hat die Fundamente der Erde gelegt, meine Rechte hat den Himmel ausgespannt; ich rief ihnen zu und schon standen sie alle da.
“Assemble, all of you, and listen!
Who among them has declared these things?
The LORD loves him; he will carry out His good pleasure on Babylon,
And His arm will be against the Chaldeans.

Versammelt euch alle und hört — wer von ihnen hat so etwas jemals verkündet? — : Der, den der HERR liebt, wird meinen Willen an Babel vollstrecken und sein Arm wird es an den Chaldäern bewirken.
“I, even I, have spoken; indeed I have called him,
I have brought him, and He will make his ways successful.

Ich, ich habe gesprochen und ich habe ihn auch berufen, ich habe ihn kommen lassen und er wird seinen Weg erfolgreich beenden.
“Come near to Me, listen to this:
From the first I have not spoken in secret,
From the time it took place, I was there.
And now the Lord GOD has sent Me, and His Spirit.”

Kommt her zu mir und hört dies: Ich habe von Anfang an nicht im Verborgenen geredet; seit das alles geschieht, bin ich dabei. Und jetzt hat GOTT, der Herr, mich und seinen Geist gesandt.
Thus says the LORD, your Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel,
“I am the LORD your God, who teaches you to profit,
Who leads you in the way you should go.
“I am the LORD your God, who teaches you to profit,
Who leads you in the way you should go.
So spricht der HERR, dein Erlöser, der Heilige Israels: Ich bin der HERR, dein Gott, der dich lehrt, was Nutzen bringt, und der dich auf den Weg führt, den du gehen sollst.
“If only you had paid attention to My commandments!
Then your well-being would have been like a river,
And your righteousness like the waves of the sea.

Hättest du doch auf meine Gebote geachtet! Dein Heil wäre wie ein Strom und deine Gerechtigkeit wie die Wogen des Meeres.
“Your descendants would have been like the sand,
And your offspring like its grains;
Their name would never be cut off or destroyed from My presence.”

Deine Nachkommen wären wie der Sand und die Sprösslinge deines Leibes wie seine Körner. Ihr Name wäre in meinen Augen nicht getilgt und gelöscht.
Go forth from Babylon! Flee from the Chaldeans!
Declare with the sound of joyful shouting, proclaim this,
Send it out to the end of the earth;
Say, “The LORD has redeemed His servant Jacob.”

Zieht aus Babel aus, flieht aus Chaldäa! Verkündet es jauchzend, lasst dies hören, tragt es hinaus bis ans Ende der Erde! Sagt: Der HERR hat seinen Knecht Jakob ausgelöst.

Sie litten keinen Durst, als er sie durch die Wüsten führte; Wasser ließ er für sie aus dem Felsen sprudeln, er spaltete den Felsen und es strömte das Wasser.
