Israel’s Mourning Turned to Joy
“At that time,” declares the LORD, “I will be the God of all the families of Israel, and they shall be My people.”

In jener Zeit — Spruch des HERRN — werde ich der Gott aller Sippen Israels sein und sie werden mein Volk sein.
Thus says the LORD,
“The people who survived the sword
Found grace in the wilderness —
Israel, when it went to find its rest.”

So spricht der HERR: Gnade fand in der Wüste das Volk, das dem Schwert entronnen ist; ich gehe mit, um Israel zur Ruhe zu führen.

“I have loved you with an everlasting love;
Therefore I have drawn you with lovingkindness.

Aus der Ferne ist mir der HERR erschienen: Mit ewiger Liebe habe ich dich geliebt, darum habe ich dir die Treue bewahrt.
“Again I will build you and you will be rebuilt,
O virgin of Israel!
Again you will take up your tambourines,
And go forth to the dances of the merrymakers.

Ich baue dich wieder auf, du wirst aufgebaut sein, Jungfrau Israel. Du wirst dich wieder schmücken mit deinen Pauken, wirst ausziehen im Reigen der Fröhlichen.
“Again you will plant vineyards
On the hills of Samaria;
The planters will plant
And will enjoy them.

Du wirst wieder Weingärten pflanzen auf Samarias Bergen. Die sie pflanzen, werden sie auch genießen.
“For there will be a day when watchmen
On the hills of Ephraim call out,
‘Arise, and let us go up to Zion,
To the LORD our God.’”

Denn es kommt der Tag, da rufen die Wächter auf Efraims Bergland: Auf, lasst uns hinaufziehen nach Zion zum HERRN, unserem Gott!

‘O LORD, save Your people,

Ja, so spricht der HERR: Jubelt Jakob voll Freude zu und jauchzt über das Haupt der Völker! Verkündet, lobsingt und sagt: Rette, HERR, dein Volk, den Rest Israels!
“Behold, I am bringing them from the north country,
And I will gather them from the remote parts of the earth,
Among them the blind and the lame,
The woman with child and she who is in labor with child, together;
A great company, they will return here.

Siehe, ich bringe sie heim aus dem Nordland und sammle sie von den Enden der Erde, unter ihnen Blinde und Lahme, Schwangere und Wöchnerinnen; als große Gemeinde kehren sie hierher zurück.
“With weeping they will come,
And by supplication I will lead them;
I will make them walk by streams of waters,
On a straight path in which they will not stumble;
For I am a father to Israel,
And Ephraim is My firstborn.”

Weinend kommen sie und in Erbarmen geleite ich sie. Ich führe sie an Wasserbäche, auf ebenem Weg, wo sie nicht straucheln. Denn ich bin Vater für Israel und Efraim ist mein Erstgeborener.
Hear the word of the LORD, O nations,

And keep him as a shepherd keeps his flock.”

Hört, ihr Völker, das Wort des HERRN, verkündet es auf den Inseln in der Ferne und sagt: Der Israel zerstreut hat, wird es sammeln und hüten wie ein Hirt seine Herde!
For the LORD has ransomed Jacob
And redeemed him from the hand of him who was stronger than he.

Denn der HERR hat Jakob losgekauft und ihn erlöst aus der Hand des Stärkeren.
“They will come and shout for joy on the height of Zion,
And they will be radiant over the bounty of the LORD —
Over the grain and the new wine and the oil,
And over the young of the flock and the herd;
And their life will be like a watered garden,
And they will never languish again.

Sie kommen und jubeln auf Zions Höhe, sie strahlen vor Freude über die Wohltaten des HERRN, über Korn, Wein und Öl, über Lämmer und Rinder. Sie werden wie ein bewässerter Garten sein und nie mehr verschmachten.

Dann freut sich die Jungfrau beim Reigentanz, ebenso Junge und Alte zusammen. Ich verwandle ihre Trauer in Jubel, tröste sie und mache sie froh nach ihrem Kummer.
“I will fill the soul of the priests with abundance,
And My people will be satisfied with My goodness,” declares the LORD.

Ich labe die Priester mit Opferfett und mein Volk wird satt an meinen Gaben — Spruch des HERRN.
Thus says the LORD,
“A voice is heard in Ramah,
Lamentation and bitter weeping.
Rachel is weeping for her children;
She refuses to be comforted for her children,
Because they are no more.”

So spricht der HERR: Horch! In Rama ist Wehklage und bitteres Weinen zu hören. Rahel weint um ihre Kinder und will sich nicht trösten lassen wegen ihrer Kinder, denn sie sind nicht mehr.

“Restrain your voice from weeping
And your eyes from tears;
For your work will be rewarded,” declares the LORD,
“And they will return from the land of the enemy.

So spricht der HERR: Verwehre deiner Stimme das Weinen und deinen Augen die Tränen! Denn es gibt einen Lohn für deine Mühe — Spruch des HERRN: Sie werden zurückkehren aus dem Feindesland.
“There is hope for your future,” declares the LORD,
“And your children will return to their own territory.

Es gibt eine Hoffnung für deine Zukunft — Spruch des HERRN: Die Kinder werden zurückkehren in ihr Gebiet.
“I have surely heard Ephraim grieving,
‘You have chastised me, and I was chastised,
Like an untrained calf;
Bring me back that I may be restored,
For You are the LORD my God.

Ich höre genau, Efraim klagt: Du hast mich gezüchtigt und ich ließ mich züchtigen wie ein ungezähmter Jungstier. Führ mich zurück und ich will umkehren; denn du bist der HERR, mein Gott.
‘For after I turned back, I repented;
And after I was instructed, I smote on my thigh;
I was ashamed and also humiliated
Because I bore the reproach of my youth.’

Ja, nach meiner Umkehr fühle ich Reue; nachdem ich zur Einsicht gekommen bin, schlage ich auf meine Hüfte. Ich bin beschämt und erröte; denn ich trage die Schande meiner Jugend. —
“Is Ephraim My dear son?
Is he a delightful child?
Indeed, as often as I have spoken against him,
I certainly still remember him;
Therefore My heart yearns for him;
I will surely have mercy on him,” declares the LORD.

Ist mir denn Efraim ein so teurer Sohn oder mein Lieblingskind? Denn sooft ich ihm auch Vorwürfe mache, muss ich doch immer wieder an ihn denken. Deshalb tobt es in meinem Inneren, ich muss mich seiner erbarmen — Spruch des HERRN.
“Set up for yourself roadmarks,
Place for yourself guideposts;
Direct your mind to the highway,
The way by which you went.
Return, O virgin of Israel,
Return to these your cities.

Stell dir Wegweiser auf, setz dir Wegmarken, achte genau auf die Straße, auf den Weg, den du gegangen bist! Kehr um, Jungfrau Israel, kehr zurück in diese deine Städte!
“How long will you go here and there,
O faithless daughter?
For the LORD has created a new thing in the earth —
A woman will encompass a man.”

Wie lange noch willst du dich sträuben, du abtrünnige Tochter? Denn der HERR erschafft Neues im Land: Die Frau wird den Mann umgeben.
Thus says the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel, “Once again they will speak this word in the land of Judah and in its cities when I restore their fortunes,
‘The LORD bless you, O abode of righteousness,
O holy hill!’

So spricht der HERR der Heerscharen, der Gott Israels: Man wird im Land Juda und in seinen Städten, wenn ich ihr Geschick wende, wieder dieses Wort sprechen: Es segne dich der HERR, du Aue der Gerechtigkeit, du heiliger Berg!
“Judah and all its cities will dwell together in it, the farmer and they who go about with flocks.
Juda und alle seine Städte werden zusammen dort wohnen, Ackerbauern und Wanderhirten.
“For I satisfy the weary ones and refresh everyone who languishes.”
Ja, ich labe den Ermatteten und sättige alle Verschmachtenden.
At this I awoke and looked, and my sleep was pleasant to me.
Darum heißt es: Ich erwachte und schaute auf und mein Schlaf war mir süß.
A New Covenant
“Behold, days are coming,” declares the LORD, “when I will sow the house of Israel and the house of Judah with the seed of man and with the seed of beast.
Siehe, Tage kommen — Spruch des HERRN — , da säe ich über das Haus Israel und das Haus Juda eine Saat von Menschen und eine Saat von Vieh.
“As I have watched over them to pluck up, to break down, to overthrow, to destroy and to bring disaster, so I will watch over them to build and to plant,” declares the LORD.
Und es wird sein: Wie ich über sie gewacht habe, um auszureißen und einzureißen, zu zerstören, zu vernichten und zu schaden, so werde ich über sie wachen, um aufzubauen und einzupflanzen — Spruch des HERRN.
“In those days they will not say again,
‘The fathers have eaten sour grapes,
And the children’s teeth are set on edge.’
‘The fathers have eaten sour grapes,

In jenen Tagen sagt man nicht mehr: Die Väter haben saure Trauben gegessen und den Söhnen werden die Zähne stumpf.
“But everyone will die for his own iniquity; each man who eats the sour grapes, his teeth will be set on edge.
Nein, jeder stirbt für seine eigene Schuld; jedem Menschen, der die sauren Trauben isst, werden die Zähne stumpf.
“Behold, days are coming,” declares the LORD, “when I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel and with the house of Judah,
Siehe, Tage kommen — Spruch des HERRN — , da schließe ich mit dem Haus Israel und dem Haus Juda einen neuen Bund.
not like the covenant which I made with their fathers in the day I took them by the hand to bring them out of the land of Egypt, My covenant which they broke, although I was a husband to them,” declares the LORD.
Er ist nicht wie der Bund, den ich mit ihren Vätern geschlossen habe an dem Tag, als ich sie bei der Hand nahm, um sie aus dem Land Ägypten herauszuführen. Diesen meinen Bund haben sie gebrochen, obwohl ich ihr Gebieter war — Spruch des HERRN.
“But this is the covenant which I will make with the house of Israel after those days,” declares the LORD, “I will put My law within them and on their heart I will write it; and I will be their God, and they shall be My people.
Sondern so wird der Bund sein, den ich nach diesen Tagen mit dem Haus Israel schließe — Spruch des HERRN: Ich habe meine Weisung in ihre Mitte gegeben und werde sie auf ihr Herz schreiben. Ich werde ihnen Gott sein und sie werden mir Volk sein.
“They will not teach again, each man his neighbor and each man his brother, saying, ‘Know the LORD,’ for they will all know Me, from the least of them to the greatest of them,” declares the LORD, “for I will forgive their iniquity, and their sin I will remember no more.”
Keiner wird mehr den andern belehren, man wird nicht zueinander sagen: Erkennt den HERRN!, denn sie alle, vom Kleinsten bis zum Größten, werden mich erkennen — Spruch des HERRN. Denn ich vergebe ihre Schuld, an ihre Sünde denke ich nicht mehr.

Who stirs up the sea so that its waves roar;

So spricht der HERR, der die Sonne bestimmt zum Licht am Tag, die Ordnungen des Mondes und der Sterne zum Licht in der Nacht, der das Meer aufwühlt, dass seine Wogen brausen — HERR der Heerscharen ist sein Name:
“If this fixed order departs
From before Me,” declares the LORD,
“Then the offspring of Israel also will cease
From being a nation before Me forever.”

Nur wenn dieses Gesetz vor mir ins Wanken geriete — Spruch des HERRN — , nur dann könnten Israels Nachkommen aufhören, für alle Zeit vor meinem Angesicht ein Volk zu sein.
Thus says the LORD,
“If the heavens above can be measured
And the foundations of the earth searched out below,
Then I will also cast off all the offspring of Israel
For all that they have done,” declares the LORD.

So spricht der HERR: Nur wenn die Himmel droben abgemessen und unten die Grundfesten der Erde erforscht werden könnten, dann könnte auch ich die ganze Nachkommenschaft Israels verwerfen für all das, was sie getan haben — Spruch des HERRN.
“Behold, days are coming,” declares the LORD, “when the city will be rebuilt for the LORD from the Tower of Hananel to the Corner Gate.
Siehe, Tage kommen — Spruch des HERRN — , da wird die Stadt für den HERRN wieder aufgebaut, vom Turm Hananels bis zum Eckturm.
“The measuring line will go out farther straight ahead to the hill Gareb; then it will turn to Goah.
Und weiter verläuft die Messschnur geradeaus zum Hügel Gareb und wendet sich nach Goa.
“And the whole valley of the dead bodies and of the ashes, and all the fields as far as the brook Kidron, to the corner of the Horse Gate toward the east, shall be holy to the LORD; it will not be plucked up or overthrown anymore forever.”
Das ganze Tal der Leichen und der Fett-Asche und die ganzen Hänge bis zum Kidronbach, bis zur Ecke des Rosstors im Osten werden dem HERRN heilig sein. Sie werden niemals wieder zerstört und eingerissen werden.
