Deliverance from Captivity Promised
The word which came to Jeremiah from the LORD, saying,

“Thus says the LORD, the God of Israel, ‘Write all the words which I have spoken to you in a book.
So spricht der HERR, der Gott Israels: Schreib dir alle Worte, die ich dir gesagt habe, in ein Buch!
‘For behold, days are coming,’ declares the LORD, ‘when I will restore the fortunes of My people Israel and Judah.’ The LORD says, ‘I will also bring them back to the land that I gave to their forefathers and they shall possess it.’”
Denn siehe, Tage kommen — Spruch des HERRN — , da wende ich das Geschick meines Volkes Israel und Juda, spricht der HERR. Ich führe sie zurück in das Land, das ich ihren Vätern gegeben habe, und sie werden es in Besitz nehmen.
Now these are the words which the LORD spoke concerning Israel and concerning Judah:
Das sind die Worte, die der HERR über Israel und Juda gesprochen hat:
“For thus says the LORD,
‘I have heard a sound of terror,
Of dread, and there is no peace.

Ja, so spricht der HERR: Angstgeschrei vernehmen wir: Schrecken und kein Friede.
‘Ask now, and see
If a male can give birth.
Why do I see every man
With his hands on his loins, as a woman in childbirth?
And why have all faces turned pale?

Fragt doch und schaut, ob je ein Mann gebären kann! Warum sehe ich jeden Mann mit den Händen auf seinen Hüften wie eine Gebärende und warum werden alle Gesichter blass?
‘Alas! for that day is great,
There is none like it;
And it is the time of Jacob’s distress,
But he will be saved from it.
There is none like it;

Wehe! Denn groß ist jener Tag, keiner ist ihm gleich. Eine Notzeit ist es für Jakob, doch wird er daraus gerettet.
‘It shall come about on that day,’ declares the LORD of hosts, ‘that I will break his yoke from off their neck and will tear off their bonds; and strangers will no longer make them their slaves.
An jenem Tag wird es geschehen — Spruch des HERRN der Heerscharen — , da zerbreche ich sein Joch auf deinem Nacken und zerreiße deine Stricke. Fremde sollen dich nicht mehr knechten.
‘But they shall serve the LORD their God and David their king, whom I will raise up for them.
Vielmehr werden sie dem HERRN, ihrem Gott, dienen und David, ihrem König, den ich ihnen erstehen lasse.
‘Fear not, O Jacob My servant,’ declares the LORD,
‘And do not be dismayed, O Israel;
For behold, I will save you from afar
And your offspring from the land of their captivity.
And Jacob will return and will be quiet and at ease,
And no one will make him afraid.

Du aber, fürchte dich nicht, du, mein Knecht Jakob — Spruch des HERRN — , verzage nicht, Israel! Denn ich bin es, der dich aus fernem Land errettet, deine Kinder aus dem Land ihrer Gefangenschaft. Jakob wird heimkehren und Ruhe haben; er wird in Sicherheit leben und niemand wird ihn erschrecken.
‘For I am with you,’ declares the LORD, ‘to save you;
For I will destroy completely all the nations where I have scattered you,
Only I will not destroy you completely.
But I will chasten you justly
And will by no means leave you unpunished.’

Denn ich bin mit dir — Spruch des HERRN — , um dich zu retten. Ja, ich bereite allen Völkern, unter die ich dich zerstreut habe, ein Ende. Nur dir mache ich kein Ende. Ich werde dich züchtigen, wie es recht ist; ganz ungestraft werde ich dich nicht lassen.

And your injury is serious.
‘Your wound is incurable

Ja, so spricht der HERR: Arg ist dein Schaden, unheilbar deine Wunde.
‘There is no one to plead your cause;
No healing for your sore,
No recovery for you.
No healing for your sore,
No recovery for you.
Niemand richtet dein Recht. Für das Geschwür gibt es keine Heilung, keine Genesung gibt es für dich.
‘All your lovers have forgotten you,
They do not seek you;
For I have wounded you with the wound of an enemy,
With the punishment of a cruel one,
Because your iniquity is great
And your sins are numerous.

Alle deine Liebhaber haben dich vergessen, sie fragen nicht nach dir. Denn wie ein Feind schlägt, habe ich dich geschlagen mit harter Züchtigung wegen deiner vielfachen Schuld und deiner zahlreichen Sünden.
‘Why do you cry out over your injury?
Your pain is incurable.
Because your iniquity is great
And your sins are numerous,
I have done these things to you.

Was schreist du über deinen Schaden und dein arges Leiden? Wegen deiner vielfachen Schuld und deiner zahlreichen Sünden habe ich dir das getan.
‘Therefore all who devour you will be devoured;
And all your adversaries, every one of them, will go into captivity;
And those who plunder you will be for plunder,
And all who prey upon you I will give for prey.

Doch alle, die dich fraßen, werden gefressen, alle deine Bedränger ziehen als Gefangene fort; wer dich ausplünderte, wird der Plünderung verfallen und alle, die dich beraubten, gebe ich dem Raub preis.
‘For I will restore you to health
And I will heal you of your wounds,’ declares the LORD,
‘Because they have called you an outcast, saying:
“It is Zion; no one cares for her.”’
And I will heal you of your wounds,’ declares the LORD,
‘Because they have called you an outcast, saying:

Denn ich lasse dich genesen und heile dich von deinen Wunden — Spruch des HERRN — , weil man dich Verstoßene genannt hat; Zion ist es, nach der niemand fragt.
Restoration of Jacob
“Thus says the LORD,
‘Behold, I will restore the fortunes of the tents of Jacob
And have compassion on his dwelling places;
And the city will be rebuilt on its ruin,
And the palace will stand on its rightful place.
So spricht der HERR: Siehe, ich wende das Geschick der Zelte Jakobs, seiner Wohnstätten erbarme ich mich. Die Stadt soll auf ihrem Schutthügel aufgebaut werden, der Palast auf seinem rechten Platz stehen.
‘From them will proceed thanksgiving
And the voice of those who celebrate;
And I will multiply them and they will not be diminished;
I will also honor them and they will not be insignificant.
And the voice of those who celebrate;

Lobgesang wird von dort erschallen und die Stimme von lachenden Menschen. Ich will ihre Zahl vermehren, sie sollen nicht weniger werden; ich will ihnen Ehre verschaffen, sie sollen nicht gering geachtet werden.
‘Their children also will be as formerly,
And their congregation shall be established before Me;
And I will punish all their oppressors.

Die Söhne Jakobs werden sein wie ehedem, seine Gemeinde wird vor mir bestehen bleiben, doch alle seine Unterdrücker suche ich heim.
‘Their leader shall be one of them,
And their ruler shall come forth from their midst;
And I will bring him near and he shall approach Me;
For who would dare to risk his life to approach Me?’ declares the LORD.

Sein Machthaber wird ihm selbst entstammen, sein Herrscher aus seiner Mitte hervorgehen. Ich gewähre ihm Zutritt, sodass er mir nahen kann; denn wer sonst dürfte sein Leben wagen, um mir zu nahen? — Spruch des HERRN.

Ihr werdet mein Volk sein und ich werde euer Gott sein.
Behold, the tempest of the LORD!

Siehe, der Sturm des HERRN, sein Grimm, ist losgebrochen. Ein Wirbelsturm braust hinweg über die Köpfe der Frevler.

Der glühende Zorn des HERRN wendet sich nicht, bis er die Pläne seines Herzens ausgeführt und vollbracht hat. Am Ende der Tage werdet ihr es erkennen.
