Prophecy about Gog and Future Invasion of Israel
And the word of the LORD came to me saying,
And the word of the LORD came to me saying,
Wieder empfing ich eine Botschaft vom HERRN. Er befahl mir:
“Son of man, set your face toward Gog of the land of Magog, the prince of Rosh, Meshech and Tubal, and prophesy against him
»Du Mensch, blick in die Richtung, wo das Land Magog liegt, und kündige Gog, dem obersten Herrscher über die Völker Meschech und Tubal, mein Gericht an.
and say, ‘Thus says the Lord GOD, “Behold, I am against you, O Gog, prince of Rosh, Meshech and Tubal.
Richte ihm aus, was ich, Gott, der HERR, zu sagen habe: Gog, du Herrscher über Meschech und Tubal, du bekommst es mit mir zu tun!
“I will turn you about and put hooks into your jaws, and I will bring you out, and all your army, horses and horsemen, all of them splendidly attired, a great company with buckler and shield, all of them wielding swords;
Ich bohre Haken durch deine Kinnlade und zwinge dich zu gehen, wohin ich will. Mitsamt deinem ganzen Heer führe ich dich aus deinem Land heraus. Riesig ist es, dieses Heer, mit unzähligen Reitern und Pferden; die Soldaten sind prächtig gekleidet und mit Langschilden, Rundschilden und Schwertern bewaffnet.
Persia, Ethiopia and Put with them, all of them with shield and helmet;
Söldner aus Persien, Äthiopien und Libyen begleiten euch, gut gerüstet mit Schilden und Helmen.
Gomer with all its troops; Beth-togarmah from the remote parts of the north with all its troops — many peoples with you.
Die Truppen aus den Ländern Gomer und Bet-Togarma im äußersten Norden sind ebenfalls dabei, und auch aus vielen anderen Völkern kommen die Soldaten dazu.
“Be prepared, and prepare yourself, you and all your companies that are assembled about you, and be a guard for them.
So halte dich nun bereit, rüste dein ganzes Heer zum Kampf und übernimm die Befehlsgewalt über sie!
“After many days you will be summoned; in the latter years you will come into the land that is restored from the sword, whose inhabitants have been gathered from many nations to the mountains of Israel which had been a continual waste; but its people were brought out from the nations, and they are living securely, all of them.
Es werden zwar noch viele Jahre vergehen, aber dann, in ferner Zukunft, wirst du deinen Auftrag erhalten. Ich werde dich auffordern, ein fremdes Land zu überfallen. Es ist das Bergland Israel, das sich inzwischen vom Krieg erholt hat und dessen Bewohner aus der Verbannung heimgekehrt sind. Lange Zeit war es ein Trümmerfeld, doch nun leben die Menschen dort wieder in Ruhe und Sicherheit.
“You will go up, you will come like a storm; you will be like a cloud covering the land, you and all your troops, and many peoples with you.”
Du wirst mit deinem Heer heranziehen wie ein gewaltiges Unwetter, deine vereinten Truppen bedecken das ganze Land wie eine riesige Wolke.
‘Thus says the Lord GOD, “It will come about on that day, that thoughts will come into your mind and you will devise an evil plan,
Ich, Gott, der HERR, kündige dir an: In jener Zeit kommen dir böse Gedanken und du schmiedest einen heimtückischen Plan.
and you will say, ‘I will go up against the land of unwalled villages. I will go against those who are at rest, that live securely, all of them living without walls and having no bars or gates,
Du nimmst dir vor, dieses wehrlose Land anzugreifen, dessen Bewohner in Ruhe und Sicherheit leben. Ihre Städte haben keine Mauern und keine verriegelten Tore.
to capture spoil and to seize plunder, to turn your hand against the waste places which are now inhabited, and against the people who are gathered from the nations, who have acquired cattle and goods, who live at the center of the world.’
Du willst dich an den Israeliten bereichern und viel Beute machen. Die Städte, die einst in Trümmern lagen, willst du erobern und dir das ganze Volk unterwerfen, das nun wieder darin wohnt. Es ist aus fremden Ländern zurückgekehrt, es hat große Viehherden und andere Reichtümer erworben und wohnt nun im bedeutendsten Land der Welt.
“Sheba and Dedan and the merchants of Tarshish with all its villages will say to you, ‘Have you come to capture spoil? Have you assembled your company to seize plunder, to carry away silver and gold, to take away cattle and goods, to capture great spoil?’”’
Die Händler aus Saba, Dedan und Tarsis werden dich fragen: ›Hast du deine Truppen versammelt, um auf Raubzug zu gehen und zu plündern? Willst du Silber und Gold an dich reißen, Viehherden und anderen Besitz erbeuten?‹
“Therefore prophesy, son of man, and say to Gog, ‘Thus says the Lord GOD, “On that day when My people Israel are living securely, will you not know it?
Du Mensch, richte dem Herrscher Gog aus, was ich, Gott, der HERR, ihm zu sagen habe: Ist es nicht so? Wenn jene Zeit kommt, in der sich mein Volk in Sicherheit wähnt, lässt du dir das nicht entgehen.
“You will come from your place out of the remote parts of the north, you and many peoples with you, all of them riding on horses, a great assembly and a mighty army;
Jawohl, du wirst aus deinem Land im äußersten Norden aufbrechen, zusammen mit einem großen und mächtigen Heer. Deine Soldaten kommen aus vielen Völkern, sie rücken auf Pferden
and you will come up against My people Israel like a cloud to cover the land. It shall come about in the last days that I will bring you against My land, so that the nations may know Me when I am sanctified through you before their eyes, O Gog.”
gegen mein Volk Israel vor und bedecken das Land wie eine riesige Wolke. Am Ende der Zeit wird dies geschehen; dann lasse ich dich mein Land überfallen, damit die anderen Völker meine Macht erkennen. Wenn sie sehen, was ich mit dir tun werde, begreifen sie, dass ich ein heiliger Gott bin.
‘Thus says the Lord GOD, “Are you the one of whom I spoke in former days through My servants the prophets of Israel, who prophesied in those days for many years that I would bring you against them?
Du bist der Herrscher, dessen Kommen ich, Gott, der HERR, schon vor langer Zeit angekündigt habe. Durch meine Diener, die Propheten, ließ ich voraussagen, dass du Israel in meinem Auftrag angreifen würdest.«
“It will come about on that day, when Gog comes against the land of Israel,” declares the Lord GOD, “that My fury will mount up in My anger.
»Ich, Gott, der HERR, kündige an: An dem Tag, an dem Gog mit seinem Heer in Israel einfällt, wird der Zorn in mir aufflammen.
“In My zeal and in My blazing wrath I declare that on that day there will surely be a great earthquake in the land of Israel.
Ja, schon jetzt schwöre ich in meinem glühenden Zorn: An diesem Tag soll im ganzen Land die Erde beben!
“The fish of the sea, the birds of the heavens, the beasts of the field, all the creeping things that creep on the earth, and all the men who are on the face of the earth will shake at My presence; the mountains also will be thrown down, the steep pathways will collapse and every wall will fall to the ground.
Alle werden dann vor mir zittern: die Menschen und auch die wilden Tiere, die Fische, Vögel und Kriechtiere. Berge brechen auseinander, Felswände stürzen ein, Mauern fallen in sich zusammen.
“I will call for a sword against him on all My mountains,” declares the Lord GOD. “Every man’s sword will be against his brother.
Ich, Gott, der HERR, lasse das Schwert auf den Bergen von Israel wüten und sorge dafür, dass sich Gogs Soldaten gegenseitig umbringen.
“With pestilence and with blood I will enter into judgment with him; and I will rain on him and on his troops, and on the many peoples who are with him, a torrential rain, with hailstones, fire and brimstone.
Ja, ich werde Gog richten mitsamt seinem ganzen Heer und allen, die auf seiner Seite gekämpft haben: Viele von ihnen fallen in der Schlacht oder sterben an der Pest. Ich lasse Wolkenbrüche und Hagel, Feuer und Schwefel auf sie niederfallen.
