Vision of the Valley of Dry Bones
The hand of the LORD was upon me, and He brought me out by the Spirit of the LORD and set me down in the middle of the valley; and it was full of bones.

Einmal wurde ich vom HERRN ergriffen und hatte eine Vision. Darin hob mich Gottes Geist empor und brachte mich in ein weites Tal, das mit Totengebeinen übersät war.
He caused me to pass among them round about, and behold, there were very many on the surface of the valley; and lo, they were very dry.
Dann führte er mich durch die ganze Ebene, und ich sah dort unzählige Knochen verstreut liegen. Sie waren völlig vertrocknet.
He said to me, “Son of man, can these bones live?” And I answered, “O Lord GOD, You know.”
Gott fragte mich: »Du Mensch, können diese Gebeine je wieder lebendig werden?« Ich antwortete: »HERR, mein Gott, das weißt du allein!«
Again He said to me, “Prophesy over these bones and say to them, ‘O dry bones, hear the word of the LORD.’
Da sagte er zu mir: »Sprich zu diesen dürren Knochen und fordere sie auf: Hört, was der HERR euch sagt:
“Thus says the Lord GOD to these bones, ‘Behold, I will cause breath to enter you that you may come to life.
Ich bringe Geist in euch zurück und mache euch wieder lebendig! Ja, das verspreche ich, Gott, der HERR.
‘I will put sinews on you, make flesh grow back on you, cover you with skin and put breath in you that you may come alive; and you will know that I am the LORD.’”
Ich lasse Sehnen und Fleisch um euch wachsen und überziehe euch mit Haut. Meinen Atem hauche ich euch ein, damit ihr wieder lebendig werdet. Daran sollt ihr erkennen, dass ich der HERR bin.«
So I prophesied as I was commanded; and as I prophesied, there was a noise, and behold, a rattling; and the bones came together, bone to its bone.
Ich tat, was Gott mir befohlen hatte. Noch während ich seine Botschaft verkündete, hörte ich ein lautes Geräusch und sah, wie die Knochen zusammenrückten, jeder an seine Stelle.
And I looked, and behold, sinews were on them, and flesh grew and skin covered them; but there was no breath in them.
Vor meinen Augen wuchsen Sehnen und Fleisch um sie herum, und darüber bildete sich Haut. Aber noch war kein Leben in den Körpern.
Then He said to me, “Prophesy to the breath, prophesy, son of man, and say to the breath, ‘Thus says the Lord GOD, “Come from the four winds, O breath, and breathe on these slain, that they come to life.”’”
Da sprach Gott zu mir: »Du Mensch, ruf den Lebensgeist und befiehl ihm in meinem Namen: Komm, Lebensgeist, aus den vier Himmelsrichtungen und hauche diese toten Menschen an, damit sie wieder zum Leben erwachen!«
So I prophesied as He commanded me, and the breath came into them, and they came to life and stood on their feet, an exceedingly great army.
Ich tat, was Gott mir befohlen hatte. Da erfüllte der Lebensgeist die toten Körper, sie wurden lebendig und standen auf. Sie waren so zahlreich wie ein unüberschaubares Heer.
The Vision Explained
Then He said to me, “Son of man, these bones are the whole house of Israel; behold, they say, ‘Our bones are dried up and our hope has perished. We are completely cut off.’
Da sprach Gott zu mir: »Du Mensch, die Israeliten gleichen diesen verdorrten Gebeinen. Du weißt, wie sie klagen: ›Wir sind völlig ausgezehrt und haben keine Hoffnung mehr, uns bleibt nur der Tod!‹
“Therefore prophesy and say to them, ‘Thus says the Lord GOD, “Behold, I will open your graves and cause you to come up out of your graves, My people; and I will bring you into the land of Israel.
Darum richte ihnen diese Botschaft von mir aus: Ich, Gott, der HERR, öffne eure Gräber und hole euch heraus, denn ihr seid doch mein Volk! Ich bringe euch heim ins Land Israel.
“Then you will know that I am the LORD, when I have opened your graves and caused you to come up out of your graves, My people.
Wenn ich euch wieder lebendig mache, werdet ihr erkennen, dass ich der HERR bin.
“I will put My Spirit within you and you will come to life, and I will place you on your own land. Then you will know that I, the LORD, have spoken and done it,” declares the LORD.’”
Ich erfülle euch mit meinem Geist, schenke euch noch einmal das Leben und lasse euch wieder in eurem Land wohnen. Ihr werdet sehen, dass ich meine Versprechen halte. Mein Wort gilt!«
Reunion of Judah and Israel
The word of the LORD came again to me saying,
Wieder empfing ich eine Botschaft vom HERRN. Er forderte mich auf:
“And you, son of man, take for yourself one stick and write on it, ‘For Judah and for the sons of Israel, his companions’; then take another stick and write on it, ‘For Joseph, the stick of Ephraim and all the house of Israel, his companions.’
»Du Mensch, nimm dir ein Stück Holz und schreib darauf: ›Das Südreich Juda und die mit ihm verbündeten Israeliten‹. Dann hol ein anderes Stück Holz und schreib: ›Das Nordreich Ephraim und das übrige Volk Israel‹.
“Then join them for yourself one to another into one stick, that they may become one in your hand.
Halte die Enden beider Hölzer so aneinander, dass sie wie ein einziger Stab aussehen.
“When the sons of your people speak to you saying, ‘Will you not declare to us what you mean by these?’
Wenn die Israeliten dich fragen, was das zu bedeuten hat,
say to them, ‘Thus says the Lord GOD, “Behold, I will take the stick of Joseph, which is in the hand of Ephraim, and the tribes of Israel, his companions; and I will put them with it, with the stick of Judah, and make them one stick, and they will be one in My hand.”’
dann antworte ihnen: So spricht Gott, der HERR: Ich nehme den Herrscherstab des Nordreichs, der im Besitz des Stammes Ephraim ist, und füge ihn mit dem Herrscherstab des Südreichs zusammen. Aus den beiden mache ich einen einzigen Stab, den ich in meiner Hand halte.
“The sticks on which you write will be in your hand before their eyes.
Du aber zeig dem Volk die Hölzer
“Say to them, ‘Thus says the Lord GOD, “Behold, I will take the sons of Israel from among the nations where they have gone, and I will gather them from every side and bring them into their own land;
und richte ihnen aus: Gott, der HERR, lässt euch sagen: Ich hole die Israeliten aus den fremden Völkern heraus, zu denen sie ziehen mussten; von überall her sammle ich sie und bringe sie in ihr Land zurück.
and I will make them one nation in the land, on the mountains of Israel; and one king will be king for all of them; and they will no longer be two nations and no longer be divided into two kingdoms.
Ich mache aus ihnen wieder ein vereintes Volk, das im Bergland Israel zu Hause ist. Ein einziger König wird über sie herrschen, und nie mehr soll ihr Land in zwei Reiche geteilt sein.
“They will no longer defile themselves with their idols, or with their detestable things, or with any of their transgressions; but I will deliver them from all their dwelling places in which they have sinned, and will cleanse them. And they will be My people, and I will be their God.
Sie werden nicht länger ihre abscheulichen Götzen verehren und sich nicht mehr selbst durch ihre Taten beschmutzen. Früher haben sie mir die Treue gebrochen, doch nun will ich sie von ihren Irrwegen retten und sie reinwaschen von ihren Sünden. Sie werden mein Volk sein, und ich werde ihr Gott sein.
The Davidic Kingdom
“My servant David will be king over them, and they will all have one shepherd; and they will walk in My ordinances and keep My statutes and observe them.
Alle Israeliten werden einen gemeinsamen Hirten haben, einen König, der ein Nachkomme meines Dieners David ist. Dann richten sie sich wieder nach meinen Geboten, sie achten auf meine Weisungen und leben danach.
“They will live on the land that I gave to Jacob My servant, in which your fathers lived; and they will live on it, they, and their sons and their sons’ sons, forever; and David My servant will be their prince forever.
Das Land, das ich früher meinem Diener Jakob gegeben habe, nehmen sie erneut in Besitz. Schon ihre Vorfahren haben dort gelebt, und nun werden sie, ihre Kinder und Kindeskinder sich ein für alle Mal dort niederlassen. Ein Nachkomme Davids wird dann über sie herrschen und für immer ihr König sein.
“I will make a covenant of peace with them; it will be an everlasting covenant with them. And I will place them and multiply them, and will set My sanctuary in their midst forever.
Ich schließe einen ewigen Bund mit den Israeliten und gewähre ihnen meinen Frieden. Zu einem großen Volk lasse ich sie werden, und mein Heiligtum soll für alle Zeiten in ihrem Land stehen.
“My dwelling place also will be with them; and I will be their God, and they will be My people.
Dann werde ich selbst bei ihnen wohnen; ich will ihr Gott sein, und sie sollen mein Volk sein.
