“Speak to the sons of Israel and say to them, ‘I am the LORD your God.
den Israeliten dies weiterzusagen: »Ich bin der HERR, euer Gott.
‘You shall not do what is done in the land of Egypt where you lived, nor are you to do what is done in the land of Canaan where I am bringing you; you shall not walk in their statutes.
Lebt nicht nach den Sitten der Ägypter, in deren Land ihr gewohnt habt! Richtet euch auch nicht nach den Bräuchen der Bewohner Kanaans, wohin ich euch bringen werde! Nehmt sie nicht zum Vorbild!
‘You are to perform My judgments and keep My statutes, to live in accord with them; I am the LORD your God.
Handelt nach meinen Weisungen, lebt nach meinen Ordnungen! Ich bin der HERR, euer Gott.
‘So you shall keep My statutes and My judgments, by which a man may live if he does them; I am the LORD.
Richtet euch nach meinen Geboten! Jedem, der sie erfüllt, bringen sie Leben. Ich bin der HERR.
‘None of you shall approach any blood relative of his to uncover nakedness; I am the LORD.
Keiner von euch darf mit einer nahen Verwandten schlafen. Dies sage ich, der HERR.
‘You shall not uncover the nakedness of your father, that is, the nakedness of your mother. She is your mother; you are not to uncover her nakedness.
Du sollst nicht mit deiner Mutter schlafen, denn dadurch entehrst du deinen Vater. Darum tu es nicht, denn sie ist deine Mutter!
‘You shall not uncover the nakedness of your father’s wife; it is your father’s nakedness.
Du sollst auch nicht mit einer anderen Frau deines Vaters schlafen, denn auch damit entehrst du deinen Vater.
‘The nakedness of your sister, either your father’s daughter or your mother’s daughter, whether born at home or born outside, their nakedness you shall not uncover.
Schlaf nicht mit deiner Schwester oder Halbschwester — egal ob sie in deiner Familie aufgewachsen ist oder aus einer anderen Ehe stammt!
‘The nakedness of your son’s daughter or your daughter’s daughter, their nakedness you shall not uncover; for their nakedness is yours.
Du darfst nicht mit deiner Enkelin schlafen, dem Kind deines Sohnes oder deiner Tochter, denn dadurch entehrst du dich selbst.
‘The nakedness of your father’s wife’s daughter, born to your father, she is your sister, you shall not uncover her nakedness.
Auch sollst du nicht mit deiner Halb- oder Stiefschwester schlafen, die von einer Frau deines Vaters geboren wurde.
‘You shall not uncover the nakedness of your father’s sister; she is your father’s blood relative.
Das Gleiche gilt für enge Verwandte deiner Eltern: Schlafe nie mit der Schwester deines Vaters oder der Schwester deiner Mutter!
‘You shall not uncover the nakedness of your father’s brother; you shall not approach his wife, she is your aunt.
Du sollst einen Bruder deines Vaters nicht entehren, indem du mit seiner Frau schläfst, denn sie ist deine Tante.
‘You shall not uncover the nakedness of your daughter-in-law; she is your son’s wife, you shall not uncover her nakedness.
Auch mit deiner Schwiegertochter darfst du nicht schlafen, denn sie ist die Frau deines Sohnes.
‘You shall not uncover the nakedness of your brother’s wife; it is your brother’s nakedness.
Du sollst nicht mit deiner Schwägerin schlafen, sonst entehrst du deinen Bruder.
‘You shall not uncover the nakedness of a woman and of her daughter, nor shall you take her son’s daughter or her daughter’s daughter, to uncover her nakedness; they are blood relatives. It is lewdness.
Wenn du mit einer Frau schläfst, darfst du nicht auch noch mit ihrer Tochter oder ihrer Enkelin schlafen. Dies wäre eine Schande, weil sie ihre Verwandten sind.
‘You shall not marry a woman in addition to her sister as a rival while she is alive, to uncover her nakedness.
Das Gleiche gilt für die Schwester deiner Frau: Du darfst sie nicht heiraten und mit ihr schlafen, solange deine Frau lebt.
‘Also you shall not approach a woman to uncover her nakedness during her menstrual impurity.
Genauso wenig ist es erlaubt, mit einer Frau zu schlafen, während sie ihre monatliche Blutung hat, denn in dieser Zeit ist sie unrein.
‘You shall not have intercourse with your neighbor’s wife, to be defiled with her.
Schlafe nicht mit der Frau eines anderen Mannes, sonst machst du dich selbst unrein!
‘You shall not give any of your offspring to offer them to Molech, nor shall you profane the name of your God; I am the LORD.
Lass keines deiner Kinder für den Götzen Moloch als Opfer verbrennen, denn damit entweihst du meinen Namen! Ich bin der HERR, dein Gott.
‘You shall not lie with a male as one lies with a female; it is an abomination.
Ein Mann darf nicht mit einem anderen Mann schlafen, denn das verabscheue ich.
‘Also you shall not have intercourse with any animal to be defiled with it, nor shall any woman stand before an animal to mate with it; it is a perversion.
Kein Mann und keine Frau darf mit einem Tier verkehren. Wer es tut, macht sich unrein und lädt große Schande auf sich.
‘Do not defile yourselves by any of these things; for by all these the nations which I am casting out before you have become defiled.
Macht euch nicht unrein, indem ihr gegen diese Gebote verstoßt! Denn so haben sich die Völker Kanaans verunreinigt. Darum werde ich sie vertreiben und euch das Land geben.
‘For the land has become defiled, therefore I have brought its punishment upon it, so the land has spewed out its inhabitants.
Sie haben ihr Land unrein gemacht; doch ich lasse sie nicht ungestraft davonkommen, sondern sorge dafür, dass das Land seine Bewohner geradezu ausspuckt.
‘But as for you, you are to keep My statutes and My judgments and shall not do any of these abominations, neither the native, nor the alien who sojourns among you
Lebt nach meinen Weisungen und Geboten und tut nichts von all dem, was mir zuwider ist! Das gilt für euch Israeliten und auch für alle Ausländer, die dann bei euch wohnen.
(for the men of the land who have been before you have done all these abominations, and the land has become defiled);
Die Bewohner des Landes, die vor euch dort lebten, haben alle diese abscheulichen Dinge getan und so das Land unrein gemacht.
so that the land will not spew you out, should you defile it, as it has spewed out the nation which has been before you.
Wenn auch ihr dies tut, werdet ihr aus diesem Land verstoßen — so wie die Völker, die vor euch dort wohnten.
‘For whoever does any of these abominations, those persons who do so shall be cut off from among their people.
Jeder, der eine dieser abscheulichen Sünden begeht, hat sein Leben verwirkt. Er darf nicht länger zur Gemeinschaft eures Volkes gehören.
‘Thus you are to keep My charge, that you do not practice any of the abominable customs which have been practiced before you, so as not to defile yourselves with them; I am the LORD your God.’”
Richtet euch nach meinen Geboten, und hütet euch davor, diese abscheulichen Bräuche zu übernehmen, die bei den anderen Völkern in diesem Land üblich sind. Verunreinigt euch nicht durch sie! Ich bin der HERR, euer Gott!«
