Then I lifted up my eyes and looked, and behold, there was a man with a measuring line in his hand.

Als ich aufschaute, sah ich vier Hörner.
So I said, “Where are you going?” And he said to me, “To measure Jerusalem, to see how wide it is and how long it is.”
Ich fragte den Engel, der mit mir gesprochen hatte: »Was bedeuten diese Hörner?« Er antwortete: »Das sind die Mächte, die Juda, Israel und Jerusalem besiegt und die Bevölkerung in fremde Länder verschleppt haben.«
And behold, the angel who was speaking with me was going out, and another angel was coming out to meet him,
Dann ließ mich der HERR vier Schmiede sehen.
and said to him, “Run, speak to that young man, saying, ‘Jerusalem will be inhabited without walls because of the multitude of men and cattle within it.
»Was haben diese Männer vor?«, fragte ich. Der Engel erwiderte: »Sie sollen die Hörner abschlagen, denn diese haben Juda unterworfen und seine Bewohner in die Verbannung geführt. Ja, die Völker, die Juda überfallen haben, werden nun selbst in Furcht und Schrecken versetzt, und ihre Macht wird zerschlagen.«
‘For I,’ declares the LORD, ‘will be a wall of fire around her, and I will be the glory in her midst.’”
Als Nächstes sah ich einen Mann mit einer Messschnur in der Hand.
“Ho there! Flee from the land of the north,” declares the LORD, “for I have dispersed you as the four winds of the heavens,” declares the LORD.
»Wohin gehst du?«, fragte ich ihn. Er antwortete: »Ich gehe nach Jerusalem, um auszumessen, wie lang und breit die Stadt werden soll.«
“Ho, Zion! Escape, you who are living with the daughter of Babylon.”
Da trat der Engel vor, der bis jetzt mit mir gesprochen hatte. Ein anderer Engel kam ihm entgegen
For thus says the LORD of hosts, “After glory He has sent me against the nations which plunder you, for he who touches you, touches the apple of His eye.
und gab ihm den Auftrag: »Lauf und sag dem jungen Mann mit der Messschnur: Jerusalem soll keine Mauer mehr haben, damit der Platz für die vielen Menschen und Tiere ausreicht.
“For behold, I will wave My hand over them so that they will be plunder for their slaves. Then you will know that the LORD of hosts has sent Me.
Der HERR verspricht: ›Ich selbst werde die Stadt ringsum wie eine Mauer aus Feuer beschützen. Mit meiner ganzen Macht und Herrlichkeit will ich wieder mitten in Jerusalem wohnen.‹«
“Sing for joy and be glad, O daughter of Zion; for behold I am coming and I will dwell in your midst,” declares the LORD.
Der HERR sagt: »Los, schnell! Flieht aus dem Land im Norden! Ich, der HERR, hatte euch in alle Himmelsrichtungen zerstreut.
“Many nations will join themselves to the LORD in that day and will become My people. Then I will dwell in your midst, and you will know that the LORD of hosts has sent Me to you.
Doch jetzt rettet euch, ihr Israeliten, die ihr noch in Babylonien seid!«
“The LORD will possess Judah as His portion in the holy land, and will again choose Jerusalem.
Um seine Macht und Herrlichkeit zu zeigen, hat mich der HERR, der allmächtige Gott, zu den Völkern gesandt, die euch ausgeplündert haben. Er sagt: »Wer sich an euch Israeliten vergreift, der verletzt, was mir am kostbarsten ist.
“Be silent, all flesh, before the LORD; for He is aroused from His holy habitation.”
Darum erhebe ich jetzt meine Hand und schlage eure Feinde nieder. Bisher musstet ihr ihnen als Sklaven dienen, doch dann werdet ihr sie ausplündern.« Wenn das eintrifft, werdet ihr erkennen, dass der HERR, der allmächtige Gott, mich gesandt hat.
