Jesus’ Teaching about Divorce

Von dort brach Jesus auf und kam nach Judäa und in das Gebiet jenseits des Jordan. Wieder versammelten sich viele Leute bei ihm und er lehrte sie, wie er es gewohnt war.
Some Pharisees came up to Jesus, testing Him, and began to question Him whether it was lawful for a man to divorce a wife.
Da kamen Pharisäer zu ihm und fragten: Ist es einem Mann erlaubt, seine Frau aus der Ehe zu entlassen? Damit wollten sie ihn versuchen.
And He answered and said to them, “What did Moses command you?”
Er antwortete ihnen: Was hat euch Mose vorgeschrieben?
They said, “Moses permitted a man TO WRITE A CERTIFICATE OF DIVORCE AND SEND her AWAY.”
Sie sagten: Mose hat gestattet, eine Scheidungsurkunde auszustellen und die Frau aus der Ehe zu entlassen.
But Jesus said to them, “Because of your hardness of heart he wrote you this commandment.
Jesus entgegnete ihnen: Nur weil ihr so hartherzig seid, hat er euch dieses Gebot gegeben.
“But from the beginning of creation, God MADE THEM MALE AND FEMALE.
Am Anfang der Schöpfung aber hat Gott sie männlich und weiblich erschaffen.
“FOR THIS REASON A MAN SHALL LEAVE HIS FATHER AND MOTHER,
Darum wird der Mann Vater und Mutter verlassen
AND THE TWO SHALL BECOME ONE FLESH; so they are no longer two, but one flesh.
und die zwei werden ein Fleisch sein. Sie sind also nicht mehr zwei, sondern ein Fleisch.
“What therefore God has joined together, let no man separate.”
Was aber Gott verbunden hat, das darf der Mensch nicht trennen.
In the house the disciples began questioning Him about this again.
Zu Hause befragten ihn die Jünger noch einmal darüber.
And He said to them, “Whoever divorces his wife and marries another woman commits adultery against her;
Er antwortete ihnen: Wer seine Frau aus der Ehe entlässt und eine andere heiratet, begeht ihr gegenüber Ehebruch.
and if she herself divorces her husband and marries another man, she is committing adultery.”
Und wenn sie ihren Mann aus der Ehe entlässt und einen anderen heiratet, begeht sie Ehebruch.
Jesus Blesses Little Children
And they were bringing children to Him so that He might touch them; but the disciples rebuked them.
Da brachte man Kinder zu ihm, damit er sie berühre. Die Jünger aber wiesen die Leute zurecht.
But when Jesus saw this, He was indignant and said to them, “Permit the children to come to Me; do not hinder them; for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these.
Als Jesus das sah, wurde er unwillig und sagte zu ihnen: Lasst die Kinder zu mir kommen; hindert sie nicht daran! Denn solchen wie ihnen gehört das Reich Gottes.
“Truly I say to you, whoever does not receive the kingdom of God like a child will not enter it at all.”
Amen, ich sage euch: Wer das Reich Gottes nicht so annimmt wie ein Kind, der wird nicht hineinkommen.
And He took them in His arms and began blessing them, laying His hands on them.
Und er nahm die Kinder in seine Arme; dann legte er ihnen die Hände auf und segnete sie.
The Rich Young Ruler
As He was setting out on a journey, a man ran up to Him and knelt before Him, and asked Him, “Good Teacher, what shall I do to inherit eternal life?”
Als sich Jesus wieder auf den Weg machte, lief ein Mann auf ihn zu, fiel vor ihm auf die Knie und fragte ihn: Guter Meister, was muss ich tun, um das ewige Leben zu erben?
And Jesus said to him, “Why do you call Me good? No one is good except God alone.
Jesus antwortete: Warum nennst du mich gut? Niemand ist gut außer der eine Gott.
“You know the commandments, ‘DO NOT MURDER, DO NOT COMMIT ADULTERY, DO NOT STEAL, DO NOT BEAR FALSE WITNESS, Do not defraud, HONOR YOUR FATHER AND MOTHER.’”
Du kennst doch die Gebote: Du sollst nicht töten, du sollst nicht die Ehe brechen, du sollst nicht stehlen, du sollst nicht falsch aussagen, du sollst keinen Raub begehen; ehre deinen Vater und deine Mutter!
And he said to Him, “Teacher, I have kept all these things from my youth up.”
Er erwiderte ihm: Meister, alle diese Gebote habe ich von Jugend an befolgt.
Looking at him, Jesus felt a love for him and said to him, “One thing you lack: go and sell all you possess and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven; and come, follow Me.”
Da sah ihn Jesus an, umarmte ihn und sagte: Eines fehlt dir noch: Geh, verkaufe, was du hast, gib es den Armen und du wirst einen Schatz im Himmel haben; dann komm und folge mir nach!
But at these words he was saddened, and he went away grieving, for he was one who owned much property.
Der Mann aber war betrübt, als er das hörte, und ging traurig weg; denn er hatte ein großes Vermögen.
And Jesus, looking around, said to His disciples, “How hard it will be for those who are wealthy to enter the kingdom of God!”
Da sah Jesus seine Jünger an und sagte zu ihnen: Wie schwer ist es für Menschen, die viel besitzen, in das Reich Gottes zu kommen!
The disciples were amazed at His words. But Jesus answered again and said to them, “Children, how hard it is to enter the kingdom of God!
Die Jünger waren über seine Worte bestürzt. Jesus aber sagte noch einmal zu ihnen: Meine Kinder, wie schwer ist es, in das Reich Gottes zu kommen!
“It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of God.”
Leichter geht ein Kamel durch ein Nadelöhr, als dass ein Reicher in das Reich Gottes gelangt.
They were even more astonished and said to Him, “Then who can be saved?”
Sie aber gerieten über alle Maßen außer sich vor Schrecken und sagten zueinander: Wer kann dann noch gerettet werden?
Looking at them, Jesus said, “With people it is impossible, but not with God; for all things are possible with God.”
Jesus sah sie an und sagte: Für Menschen ist das unmöglich, aber nicht für Gott; denn für Gott ist alles möglich.
Peter began to say to Him, “Behold, we have left everything and followed You.”
Da sagte Petrus zu ihm: Siehe, wir haben alles verlassen und sind dir nachgefolgt.
Jesus said, “Truly I say to you, there is no one who has left house or brothers or sisters or mother or father or children or farms, for My sake and for the gospel’s sake,
Jesus antwortete: Amen, ich sage euch: Jeder, der um meinetwillen und um des Evangeliums willen Haus oder Brüder, Schwestern, Mutter, Vater, Kinder oder Äcker verlassen hat,
but that he will receive a hundred times as much now in the present age, houses and brothers and sisters and mothers and children and farms, along with persecutions; and in the age to come, eternal life.
wird das Hundertfache dafür empfangen. Jetzt in dieser Zeit wird er Häuser und Brüder, Schwestern und Mütter, Kinder und Äcker erhalten, wenn auch unter Verfolgungen, und in der kommenden Welt das ewige Leben.
“But many who are first will be last, and the last, first.”
Viele Erste werden Letzte sein und die Letzten Erste.
Jesus’ Sufferings Foretold
They were on the road going up to Jerusalem, and Jesus was walking on ahead of them; and they were amazed, and those who followed were fearful. And again He took the twelve aside and began to tell them what was going to happen to Him,
Während sie auf dem Weg hinauf nach Jerusalem waren, ging Jesus voraus. Die Leute wunderten sich über ihn, die ihm nachfolgten aber hatten Angst. Da versammelte er die Zwölf wieder um sich und kündigte ihnen an, was ihm bevorstand.
saying, “Behold, we are going up to Jerusalem, and the Son of Man will be delivered to the chief priests and the scribes; and they will condemn Him to death and will hand Him over to the Gentiles.
Er sagte: Siehe, wir gehen nach Jerusalem hinauf; und der Menschensohn wird den Hohepriestern und den Schriftgelehrten ausgeliefert; sie werden ihn zum Tod verurteilen und den Heiden ausliefern;
“They will mock Him and spit on Him, and scourge Him and kill Him, and three days later He will rise again.”
sie werden ihn verspotten, anspucken, geißeln und töten. Und nach drei Tagen wird er auferstehen.
James and John, the two sons of Zebedee, came up to Jesus, saying, “Teacher, we want You to do for us whatever we ask of You.”
Da traten Jakobus und Johannes, die Söhne des Zebedäus, zu ihm und sagten: Meister, wir möchten, dass du uns eine Bitte erfüllst.
And He said to them, “What do you want Me to do for you?”
Er antwortete: Was soll ich für euch tun?
They said to Him, “Grant that we may sit, one on Your right and one on Your left, in Your glory.”
Sie sagten zu ihm: Lass in deiner Herrlichkeit einen von uns rechts und den andern links neben dir sitzen!
But Jesus said to them, “You do not know what you are asking. Are you able to drink the cup that I drink, or to be baptized with the baptism with which I am baptized?”
Jesus erwiderte: Ihr wisst nicht, um was ihr bittet. Könnt ihr den Kelch trinken, den ich trinke, oder die Taufe auf euch nehmen, mit der ich getauft werde?
They said to Him, “We are able.” And Jesus said to them, “The cup that I drink you shall drink; and you shall be baptized with the baptism with which I am baptized.
Sie antworteten: Wir können es. Da sagte Jesus zu ihnen: Ihr werdet den Kelch trinken, den ich trinke, und die Taufe empfangen, mit der ich getauft werde.
“But to sit on My right or on My left, this is not Mine to give; but it is for those for whom it has been prepared.”
Doch den Platz zu meiner Rechten und zu meiner Linken habe nicht ich zu vergeben; dort werden die sitzen, für die es bestimmt ist.
Hearing this, the ten began to feel indignant with James and John.
Als die zehn anderen Jünger das hörten, wurden sie sehr ärgerlich über Jakobus und Johannes.
Calling them to Himself, Jesus said to them, “You know that those who are recognized as rulers of the Gentiles lord it over them; and their great men exercise authority over them.
Da rief Jesus sie zu sich und sagte: Ihr wisst, dass die, die als Herrscher gelten, ihre Völker unterdrücken und ihre Großen ihre Macht gegen sie gebrauchen.
“But it is not this way among you, but whoever wishes to become great among you shall be your servant;
Bei euch aber soll es nicht so sein, sondern wer bei euch groß sein will, der soll euer Diener sein,
and whoever wishes to be first among you shall be slave of all.
und wer bei euch der Erste sein will, soll der Sklave aller sein.
“For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life a ransom for many.”
Denn auch der Menschensohn ist nicht gekommen, um sich dienen zu lassen, sondern um zu dienen und sein Leben hinzugeben als Lösegeld für viele.
Bartimaeus Receives His Sight
Then they came to Jericho. And as He was leaving Jericho with His disciples and a large crowd, a blind beggar named Bartimaeus, the son of Timaeus, was sitting by the road.
Sie kamen nach Jericho. Als er mit seinen Jüngern und einer großen Menschenmenge Jericho wieder verließ, saß am Weg ein blinder Bettler, Bartimäus, der Sohn des Timäus.
When he heard that it was Jesus the Nazarene, he began to cry out and say, “Jesus, Son of David, have mercy on me!”
Sobald er hörte, dass es Jesus von Nazaret war, rief er laut: Sohn Davids, Jesus, hab Erbarmen mit mir!
Many were sternly telling him to be quiet, but he kept crying out all the more, “Son of David, have mercy on me!”
Viele befahlen ihm zu schweigen. Er aber schrie noch viel lauter: Sohn Davids, hab Erbarmen mit mir!
And Jesus stopped and said, “Call him here.” So they called the blind man, saying to him, “Take courage, stand up! He is calling for you.”
Jesus blieb stehen und sagte: Ruft ihn her! Sie riefen den Blinden und sagten zu ihm: Hab nur Mut, steh auf, er ruft dich.
Throwing aside his cloak, he jumped up and came to Jesus.
Da warf er seinen Mantel weg, sprang auf und lief auf Jesus zu.
And answering him, Jesus said, “What do you want Me to do for you?” And the blind man said to Him, “Rabboni, I want to regain my sight!”
Und Jesus fragte ihn: Was willst du, dass ich dir tue? Der Blinde antwortete: Rabbuni, ich möchte sehen können.
