Parable of the Sower and Soils
He began to teach again by the sea. And such a very large crowd gathered to Him that He got into a boat in the sea and sat down; and the whole crowd was by the sea on the land.

Und wieder begann er, am Ufer des Sees zu lehren, und sehr viele Menschen versammelten sich um ihn. Er stieg deshalb in ein Boot auf dem See und setzte sich; die Leute aber standen am Ufer.
And He was teaching them many things in parables, and was saying to them in His teaching,
Und er sprach lange zu ihnen und lehrte sie in Gleichnissen. Bei dieser Belehrung sagte er zu ihnen:
“Listen to this! Behold, the sower went out to sow;
Hört! Siehe, ein Sämann ging hinaus, um zu säen.
as he was sowing, some seed fell beside the road, and the birds came and ate it up.
Als er säte, fiel ein Teil auf den Weg und die Vögel kamen und fraßen es.
“Other seed fell on the rocky ground where it did not have much soil; and immediately it sprang up because it had no depth of soil.
Ein anderer Teil fiel auf felsigen Boden, wo es nur wenig Erde gab, und ging sofort auf, weil das Erdreich nicht tief war;
“And after the sun had risen, it was scorched; and because it had no root, it withered away.
als aber die Sonne hochstieg, wurde die Saat versengt und verdorrte, weil sie keine Wurzeln hatte.
“Other seed fell among the thorns, and the thorns came up and choked it, and it yielded no crop.
Wieder ein anderer Teil fiel in die Dornen und die Dornen wuchsen und erstickten die Saat und sie brachte keine Frucht.
“Other seeds fell into the good soil, and as they grew up and increased, they yielded a crop and produced thirty, sixty, and a hundredfold.”
Ein anderer Teil schließlich fiel auf guten Boden und brachte Frucht; die Saat ging auf und wuchs empor und trug dreißigfach, sechzigfach und hundertfach.
And He was saying, “He who has ears to hear, let him hear.”

As soon as He was alone, His followers, along with the twelve, began asking Him about the parables.
Als er mit seinen Begleitern und den Zwölf allein war, fragten sie ihn nach dem Sinn seiner Gleichnisse.
And He was saying to them, “To you has been given the mystery of the kingdom of God, but those who are outside get everything in parables,
Da sagte er zu ihnen: Euch ist das Geheimnis des Reiches Gottes gegeben; für die aber, die draußen sind, geschieht alles in Gleichnissen;
so that WHILE SEEING, THEY MAY SEE AND NOT PERCEIVE, AND WHILE HEARING, THEY MAY HEAR AND NOT UNDERSTAND, OTHERWISE THEY MIGHT RETURN AND BE FORGIVEN.”
denn sehen sollen sie, sehen, aber nicht erkennen; hören sollen sie, hören, aber nicht verstehen, damit sie sich nicht bekehren und ihnen nicht vergeben wird.
Explanation
And He said to them, “Do you not understand this parable? How will you understand all the parables?
Und er sagte zu ihnen: Wenn ihr schon dieses Gleichnis nicht versteht, wie wollt ihr dann all die anderen Gleichnisse verstehen?
“These are the ones who are beside the road where the word is sown; and when they hear, immediately Satan comes and takes away the word which has been sown in them.
Auf den Weg fällt das Wort bei denen, die es zwar hören, aber sofort kommt der Satan und nimmt das Wort weg, das in sie gesät wurde.
“In a similar way these are the ones on whom seed was sown on the rocky places, who, when they hear the word, immediately receive it with joy;
Ähnlich ist es bei den Menschen, bei denen das Wort auf felsigen Boden fällt: Sobald sie es hören, nehmen sie es freudig auf;
and they have no firm root in themselves, but are only temporary; then, when affliction or persecution arises because of the word, immediately they fall away.
aber sie haben keine Wurzeln, sondern sind unbeständig, und wenn sie dann um des Wortes willen bedrängt oder verfolgt werden, kommen sie sofort zu Fall.
“And others are the ones on whom seed was sown among the thorns; these are the ones who have heard the word,
Bei anderen fällt das Wort in die Dornen: Sie hören es zwar,
but the worries of the world, and the deceitfulness of riches, and the desires for other things enter in and choke the word, and it becomes unfruitful.
aber die Sorgen der Welt, der trügerische Reichtum und die Gier nach all den anderen Dingen machen sich breit und ersticken es und es bleibt ohne Frucht.
“And those are the ones on whom seed was sown on the good soil; and they hear the word and accept it and bear fruit, thirty, sixty, and a hundredfold.”
Auf guten Boden ist das Wort bei denen gesät, die es hören und aufnehmen und Frucht bringen, dreißigfach, sechzigfach und hundertfach.
And He was saying to them, “A lamp is not brought to be put under a basket, is it, or under a bed? Is it not brought to be put on the lampstand?
Er sagte zu ihnen: Zündet man etwa eine Leuchte an und stellt sie unter den Scheffel oder unter das Bett? Stellt man sie nicht auf den Leuchter?
“For nothing is hidden, except to be revealed; nor has anything been secret, but that it would come to light.
Denn es gibt nichts Verborgenes, das nicht bekannt werden soll, und nichts Geheimes, das nicht an den Tag kommen soll.
And He was saying to them, “Take care what you listen to. By your standard of measure it will be measured to you; and more will be given you besides.
Weiter sagte er: Achtet auf das, was ihr hört! Nach dem Maß, mit dem ihr messt und zuteilt, wird euch zugeteilt werden, ja, es wird euch noch mehr gegeben.
“For whoever has, to him more shall be given; and whoever does not have, even what he has shall be taken away from him.”
Denn wer hat, dem wird gegeben; wer aber nicht hat, dem wird auch noch weggenommen, was er hat.
Parable of the Seed
And He was saying, “The kingdom of God is like a man who casts seed upon the soil;
Er sagte: Mit dem Reich Gottes ist es so, wie wenn ein Mann Samen auf seinen Acker sät;
and he goes to bed at night and gets up by day, and the seed sprouts and grows — how, he himself does not know.
dann schläft er und steht wieder auf, es wird Nacht und wird Tag, der Samen keimt und wächst und der Mann weiß nicht, wie.
“The soil produces crops by itself; first the blade, then the head, then the mature grain in the head.
Die Erde bringt von selbst ihre Frucht, zuerst den Halm, dann die Ähre, dann das volle Korn in der Ähre.
“But when the crop permits, he immediately puts in the sickle, because the harvest has come.”
Sobald aber die Frucht reif ist, legt er die Sichel an; denn die Zeit der Ernte ist da.
Parable of the Mustard Seed
And He said, “How shall we picture the kingdom of God, or by what parable shall we present it?
Er sagte: Womit sollen wir das Reich Gottes vergleichen, mit welchem Gleichnis sollen wir es beschreiben?
“It is like a mustard seed, which, when sown upon the soil, though it is smaller than all the seeds that are upon the soil,
Es gleicht einem Senfkorn. Dieses ist das kleinste von allen Samenkörnern, die man in die Erde sät.
yet when it is sown, it grows up and becomes larger than all the garden plants and forms large branches; so that THE BIRDS OF THE AIR can NEST UNDER ITS SHADE.”
Ist es aber gesät, dann geht es auf und wird größer als alle anderen Gewächse und treibt große Zweige, sodass in seinem Schatten die Vögel des Himmels nisten können.
With many such parables He was speaking the word to them, so far as they were able to hear it;
Durch viele solche Gleichnisse verkündete er ihnen das Wort, so wie sie es aufnehmen konnten.
and He did not speak to them without a parable; but He was explaining everything privately to His own disciples.
Er redete nur in Gleichnissen zu ihnen; seinen Jüngern aber erklärte er alles, wenn er mit ihnen allein war.
Jesus Stills the Sea
On that day, when evening came, He said to them, “Let us go over to the other side.”
Am Abend dieses Tages sagte er zu ihnen: Wir wollen ans andere Ufer hinüberfahren.
Leaving the crowd, they took Him along with them in the boat, just as He was; and other boats were with Him.
Sie schickten die Leute fort und fuhren mit ihm in dem Boot, in dem er saß, weg; und andere Boote begleiteten ihn.
And there arose a fierce gale of wind, and the waves were breaking over the boat so much that the boat was already filling up.
Plötzlich erhob sich ein heftiger Wirbelsturm und die Wellen schlugen in das Boot, sodass es sich mit Wasser zu füllen begann.
Jesus Himself was in the stern, asleep on the cushion; and they woke Him and said to Him, “Teacher, do You not care that we are perishing?”
Er aber lag hinten im Boot auf einem Kissen und schlief. Sie weckten ihn und riefen: Meister, kümmert es dich nicht, dass wir zugrunde gehen?
And He got up and rebuked the wind and said to the sea, “Hush, be still.” And the wind died down and it became perfectly calm.
Da stand er auf, drohte dem Wind und sagte zu dem See: Schweig, sei still! Und der Wind legte sich und es trat völlige Stille ein.
And He said to them, “Why are you afraid? Do you still have no faith?”
Er sagte zu ihnen: Warum habt ihr solche Angst? Habt ihr noch keinen Glauben?
