Die Pharisäer und einige Schriftgelehrte, die aus Jerusalem gekommen waren, versammelten sich bei Jesus.
and had seen that some of His disciples were eating their bread with impure hands, that is, unwashed.
Sie sahen, dass einige seiner Jünger ihr Brot mit unreinen, das heißt mit ungewaschenen Händen aßen.
(For the Pharisees and all the Jews do not eat unless they carefully wash their hands, thus observing the traditions of the elders;
Die Pharisäer essen nämlich wie alle Juden nur, wenn sie vorher mit einer Handvoll Wasser die Hände gewaschen haben; so halten sie an der Überlieferung der Alten fest.
and when they come from the market place, they do not eat unless they cleanse themselves; and there are many other things which they have received in order to observe, such as the washing of cups and pitchers and copper pots.)
Auch wenn sie vom Markt kommen, essen sie nicht, ohne sich vorher zu waschen. Noch viele andere überlieferte Vorschriften halten sie ein, wie das Abspülen von Bechern, Krügen und Kesseln.
The Pharisees and the scribes asked Him, “Why do Your disciples not walk according to the tradition of the elders, but eat their bread with impure hands?”
Die Pharisäer und die Schriftgelehrten fragten ihn also: Warum halten sich deine Jünger nicht an die Überlieferung der Alten, sondern essen ihr Brot mit unreinen Händen?
And He said to them, “Rightly did Isaiah prophesy of you hypocrites, as it is written:
‘THIS PEOPLE HONORS ME WITH THEIR LIPS,
BUT THEIR HEART IS FAR AWAY FROM ME.
‘THIS PEOPLE HONORS ME WITH THEIR LIPS,
BUT THEIR HEART IS FAR AWAY FROM ME.
Er antwortete ihnen: Der Prophet Jesaja hatte Recht mit dem, was er über euch Heuchler sagte, wie geschrieben steht: Dieses Volk ehrt mich mit den Lippen, sein Herz aber ist weit weg von mir.
‘BUT IN VAIN DO THEY WORSHIP ME,
TEACHING AS DOCTRINES THE PRECEPTS OF MEN.’
TEACHING AS DOCTRINES THE PRECEPTS OF MEN.’
Vergeblich verehren sie mich; was sie lehren, sind Satzungen von Menschen.
“Neglecting the commandment of God, you hold to the tradition of men.”
Ihr gebt Gottes Gebot preis und haltet euch an die Überlieferung der Menschen.
He was also saying to them, “You are experts at setting aside the commandment of God in order to keep your tradition.
Und weiter sagte Jesus: Sehr geschickt setzt ihr Gottes Gebot außer Kraft, um eure eigene Überlieferung aufzurichten.
“For Moses said, ‘HONOR YOUR FATHER AND YOUR MOTHER’; and, ‘HE WHO SPEAKS EVIL OF FATHER OR MOTHER, IS TO BE PUT TO DEATH’;
Denn Mose hat gesagt: Ehre deinen Vater und deine Mutter! und: Wer Vater oder Mutter schmäht, soll mit dem Tod bestraft werden.
but you say, ‘If a man says to his father or his mother, whatever I have that would help you is Corban (that is to say, given to God),’
Ihr aber lehrt: Wenn einer zu seinem Vater oder seiner Mutter sagt: Korbán — das heißt: Weihgeschenk sei, was du von mir als Unterstützung erhalten solltest — ,
you no longer permit him to do anything for his father or his mother;
dann lasst ihr ihn nichts mehr für Vater oder Mutter tun.
thus invalidating the word of God by your tradition which you have handed down; and you do many things such as that.”
So setzt ihr durch eure eigene Überlieferung Gottes Wort außer Kraft. Und ähnlich handelt ihr in vielen Fällen.
The Heart of Man
After He called the crowd to Him again, He began saying to them, “Listen to Me, all of you, and understand:
Dann rief er die Leute wieder zu sich und sagte: Hört mir alle zu und begreift, was ich sage!
there is nothing outside the man which can defile him if it goes into him; but the things which proceed out of the man are what defile the man.
Nichts, was von außen in den Menschen hineinkommt, kann ihn unrein machen, sondern was aus dem Menschen herauskommt, das macht ihn unrein. [16]
When he had left the crowd and entered the house, His disciples questioned Him about the parable.
Er verließ die Menge und ging in ein Haus. Da fragten ihn seine Jünger nach dem Sinn dieses rätselhaften Wortes.
And He said to them, “Are you so lacking in understanding also? Do you not understand that whatever goes into the man from outside cannot defile him,
Er antwortete ihnen: Begreift auch ihr nicht? Versteht ihr nicht, dass das, was von außen in den Menschen hineinkommt, ihn nicht unrein machen kann?
because it does not go into his heart, but into his stomach, and is eliminated?” (Thus He declared all foods clean.)
Denn es gelangt ja nicht in sein Herz, sondern in den Magen und wird wieder ausgeschieden. Damit erklärte Jesus alle Speisen für rein.
And He was saying, “That which proceeds out of the man, that is what defiles the man.
Weiter sagte er: Was aus dem Menschen herauskommt, das macht ihn unrein.
“For from within, out of the heart of men, proceed the evil thoughts, fornications, thefts, murders, adulteries,
Denn von innen, aus dem Herzen der Menschen, kommen die bösen Gedanken, Unzucht, Diebstahl, Mord,
deeds of coveting and wickedness, as well as deceit, sensuality, envy, slander, pride and foolishness.
Ehebruch, Habgier, Bosheit, Hinterlist, Ausschweifung, Neid, Lästerung, Hochmut und Unvernunft.
“All these evil things proceed from within and defile the man.”
All dieses Böse kommt von innen und macht den Menschen unrein.
The Syrophoenician Woman
Jesus got up and went away from there to the region of Tyre. And when He had entered a house, He wanted no one to know of it; yet He could not escape notice.
Jesus brach auf und zog von dort in das Gebiet von Tyrus. Er ging in ein Haus, wollte aber, dass niemand davon erfuhr; doch es konnte nicht verborgen bleiben.
But after hearing of Him, a woman whose little daughter had an unclean spirit immediately came and fell at His feet.
Eine Frau, deren Tochter von einem unreinen Geist besessen war, hörte von ihm; sie kam sogleich herbei und fiel ihm zu Füßen.
Now the woman was a Gentile, of the Syrophoenician race. And she kept asking Him to cast the demon out of her daughter.
Die Frau, von Geburt Syrophönizierin, war eine Heidin. Sie bat ihn, aus ihrer Tochter den Dämon auszutreiben.
And He was saying to her, “Let the children be satisfied first, for it is not good to take the children’s bread and throw it to the dogs.”
Da sagte er zu ihr: Lasst zuerst die Kinder satt werden; denn es ist nicht recht, das Brot den Kindern wegzunehmen und den kleinen Hunden vorzuwerfen.
But she answered and said to Him, “Yes, Lord, but even the dogs under the table feed on the children’s crumbs.”
Sie erwiderte ihm: Herr! Aber auch die kleinen Hunde unter dem Tisch essen von den Brotkrumen der Kinder.
And He said to her, “Because of this answer go; the demon has gone out of your daughter.”
Er antwortete ihr: Weil du das gesagt hast, sage ich dir: Geh nach Hause, der Dämon hat deine Tochter verlassen!
And going back to her home, she found the child lying on the bed, the demon having left.
Und als sie nach Hause kam, fand sie das Kind auf dem Bett liegen und sah, dass der Dämon es verlassen hatte.
Again He went out from the region of Tyre, and came through Sidon to the Sea of Galilee, within the region of Decapolis.
Jesus verließ das Gebiet von Tyrus wieder und kam über Sidon an den See von Galiläa, mitten in das Gebiet der Dekapolis.
They brought to Him one who was deaf and spoke with difficulty, and they implored Him to lay His hand on him.
Da brachten sie zu ihm einen, der taub war und stammelte, und baten ihn, er möge ihm die Hand auflegen.
Jesus took him aside from the crowd, by himself, and put His fingers into his ears, and after spitting, He touched his tongue with the saliva;
Er nahm ihn beiseite, von der Menge weg, legte ihm die Finger in die Ohren und berührte dann die Zunge des Mannes mit Speichel;
and looking up to heaven with a deep sigh, He said to him, “Ephphatha!” that is, “Be opened!”
danach blickte er zum Himmel auf, seufzte und sagte zu ihm: Effata!, das heißt: Öffne dich!
And his ears were opened, and the impediment of his tongue was removed, and he began speaking plainly.
Sogleich öffneten sich seine Ohren, seine Zunge wurde von ihrer Fessel befreit und er konnte richtig reden.
And He gave them orders not to tell anyone; but the more He ordered them, the more widely they continued to proclaim it.
Jesus verbot ihnen, jemandem davon zu erzählen. Doch je mehr er es ihnen verbot, desto mehr verkündeten sie es.
