The High Priestly Prayer

Dies sprach Jesus. Und er erhob seine Augen zum Himmel und sagte: Vater, die Stunde ist gekommen. Verherrliche deinen Sohn, damit der Sohn dich verherrlicht!
even as You gave Him authority over all flesh, that to all whom You have given Him, He may give eternal life.
Denn du hast ihm Macht über alle Menschen gegeben, damit er allen, die du ihm gegeben hast, ewiges Leben schenkt.
“This is eternal life, that they may know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom You have sent.
Das aber ist das ewige Leben: dass sie dich, den einzigen wahren Gott, erkennen und den du gesandt hast, Jesus Christus.
“I glorified You on the earth, having accomplished the work which You have given Me to do.
Ich habe dich auf der Erde verherrlicht und das Werk zu Ende geführt, das du mir aufgetragen hast.
“Now, Father, glorify Me together with Yourself, with the glory which I had with You before the world was.
Jetzt verherrliche du mich, Vater, bei dir mit der Herrlichkeit, die ich bei dir hatte, bevor die Welt war!
“I have manifested Your name to the men whom You gave Me out of the world; they were Yours and You gave them to Me, and they have kept Your word.
Ich habe deinen Namen den Menschen offenbart, die du mir aus der Welt gegeben hast. Sie gehörten dir und du hast sie mir gegeben und sie haben dein Wort bewahrt.
“Now they have come to know that everything You have given Me is from You;
Sie haben jetzt erkannt, dass alles, was du mir gegeben hast, von dir ist.
for the words which You gave Me I have given to them; and they received them and truly understood that I came forth from You, and they believed that You sent Me.
Denn die Worte, die du mir gabst, habe ich ihnen gegeben und sie haben sie angenommen. Sie haben wahrhaftig erkannt, dass ich von dir ausgegangen bin, und sie sind zu dem Glauben gekommen, dass du mich gesandt hast.
“I ask on their behalf; I do not ask on behalf of the world, but of those whom You have given Me; for they are Yours;
Für sie bitte ich; nicht für die Welt bitte ich, sondern für alle, die du mir gegeben hast; denn sie gehören dir.
and all things that are Mine are Yours, and Yours are Mine; and I have been glorified in them.
Alles, was mein ist, ist dein, und was dein ist, ist mein; in ihnen bin ich verherrlicht.
“I am no longer in the world; and yet they themselves are in the world, and I come to You. Holy Father, keep them in Your name, the name which You have given Me, that they may be one even as We are.
Ich bin nicht mehr in der Welt, aber sie sind in der Welt und ich komme zu dir. Heiliger Vater, bewahre sie in deinem Namen, den du mir gegeben hast, damit sie eins sind wie wir!
“While I was with them, I was keeping them in Your name which You have given Me; and I guarded them and not one of them perished but the son of perdition, so that the Scripture would be fulfilled.
Solange ich bei ihnen war, bewahrte ich sie in deinem Namen, den du mir gegeben hast. Und ich habe sie behütet und keiner von ihnen ging verloren, außer dem Sohn des Verderbens, damit sich die Schrift erfüllte.
The Disciples in the World
“But now I come to You; and these things I speak in the world so that they may have My joy made full in themselves.
Aber jetzt komme ich zu dir und rede dies noch in der Welt, damit sie meine Freude in Fülle in sich haben.
“I have given them Your word; and the world has hated them, because they are not of the world, even as I am not of the world.
Ich habe ihnen dein Wort gegeben und die Welt hat sie gehasst, weil sie nicht von der Welt sind, wie auch ich nicht von der Welt bin.
“I do not ask You to take them out of the world, but to keep them from the evil one.
Ich bitte nicht, dass du sie aus der Welt nimmst, sondern dass du sie vor dem Bösen bewahrst.
“They are not of the world, even as I am not of the world.
Sie sind nicht von der Welt, wie auch ich nicht von der Welt bin.
“Sanctify them in the truth; Your word is truth.
Heilige sie in der Wahrheit; dein Wort ist Wahrheit.
“As You sent Me into the world, I also have sent them into the world.
Wie du mich in die Welt gesandt hast, so habe auch ich sie in die Welt gesandt.
“For their sakes I sanctify Myself, that they themselves also may be sanctified in truth.
Und ich heilige mich für sie, damit auch sie in der Wahrheit geheiligt sind.
“I do not ask on behalf of these alone, but for those also who believe in Me through their word;
Ich bitte nicht nur für diese hier, sondern auch für alle, die durch ihr Wort an mich glauben.
that they may all be one; even as You, Father, are in Me and I in You, that they also may be in Us, so that the world may believe that You sent Me.
Alle sollen eins sein: Wie du, Vater, in mir bist und ich in dir bin, sollen auch sie in uns sein, damit die Welt glaubt, dass du mich gesandt hast.
Their Future Glory
“The glory which You have given Me I have given to them, that they may be one, just as We are one;
Und ich habe ihnen die Herrlichkeit gegeben, die du mir gegeben hast, damit sie eins sind, wie wir eins sind,
I in them and You in Me, that they may be perfected in unity, so that the world may know that You sent Me, and loved them, even as You have loved Me.
ich in ihnen und du in mir. So sollen sie vollendet sein in der Einheit, damit die Welt erkennt, dass du mich gesandt hast und sie ebenso geliebt hast, wie du mich geliebt hast.
“Father, I desire that they also, whom You have given Me, be with Me where I am, so that they may see My glory which You have given Me, for You loved Me before the foundation of the world.
Vater, ich will, dass alle, die du mir gegeben hast, dort bei mir sind, wo ich bin. Sie sollen meine Herrlichkeit sehen, die du mir gegeben hast, weil du mich schon geliebt hast vor Grundlegung der Welt.
“O righteous Father, although the world has not known You, yet I have known You; and these have known that You sent Me;
Gerechter Vater, die Welt hat dich nicht erkannt, ich aber habe dich erkannt und sie haben erkannt, dass du mich gesandt hast.
