Darum lasst uns ernsthaft besorgt sein, dass keiner von euch zurückbleibt, solange die Verheißung, in seine Ruhe zu kommen, noch gilt.
For indeed we have had good news preached to us, just as they also; but the word they heard did not profit them, because it was not united by faith in those who heard.
Denn auch uns ist das Evangelium verkündet worden wie jenen; doch hat ihnen das Wort, das sie hörten, nichts genützt, weil es sich nicht durch den Glauben mit den Hörern verband.
For we who have believed enter that rest, just as He has said,
“AS I SWORE IN MY WRATH,
THEY SHALL NOT ENTER MY REST,”

Denn hätte schon Josua sie in das Land der Ruhe geführt, so wäre nicht von einem anderen, späteren Tag die Rede.
So there remains a Sabbath rest for the people of God.
Also verbleibt dem Volk Gottes noch eine Sabbatruhe.

Denn wer in seine Ruhe eingegangen ist, der ruht auch selbst von seinen Werken aus, wie Gott von den seinigen.
Therefore let us be diligent to enter that rest, so that no one will fall, through following the same example of disobedience.
Bemühen wir uns also, in jene Ruhe einzugehen, damit niemand aufgrund des gleichen Ungehorsams zu Fall kommt!
For the word of God is living and active and sharper than any two-edged sword, and piercing as far as the division of soul and spirit, of both joints and marrow, and able to judge the thoughts and intentions of the heart.
Denn lebendig ist das Wort Gottes, wirksam und schärfer als jedes zweischneidige Schwert; es dringt durch bis zur Scheidung von Seele und Geist, von Gelenken und Mark; es richtet über die Regungen und Gedanken des Herzens;

vor ihm bleibt kein Geschöpf verborgen, sondern alles liegt nackt und bloß vor den Augen dessen, dem wir Rechenschaft schulden.
Therefore, since we have a great high priest who has passed through the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our confession.
Da wir nun einen erhabenen Hohepriester haben, der die Himmel durchschritten hat, Jesus, den Sohn Gottes, lasst uns an dem Bekenntnis festhalten.
For we do not have a high priest who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses, but One who has been tempted in all things as we are, yet without sin.
Wir haben ja nicht einen Hohepriester, der nicht mitfühlen könnte mit unseren Schwächen, sondern einen, der in allem wie wir versucht worden ist, aber nicht gesündigt hat.
