The Divisions of Priests
These were the divisions of the descendants of Aaron:
The sons of Aaron were Nadab, Abihu, Eleazar and Ithamar.

Auch die Nachkommen Aarons waren in Abteilungen gegliedert. Die Söhne Aarons waren: Nadab, Abihu, Eleasar und Itamar.
But Nadab and Abihu died before their father did, and they had no sons; so Eleazar and Ithamar served as the priests.
Nadab und Abihu starben vor ihrem Vater. Da sie keine Söhne hatten, übernahmen Eleasar und Itamar das Priestertum.
With the help of Zadok a descendant of Eleazar and Ahimelek a descendant of Ithamar, David separated them into divisions for their appointed order of ministering.
David teilte sie gemeinsam mit Zadok, einem Nachkommen Eleasars, und mit Ahimelech, einem Nachkommen Itamars, in ihre Dienstklassen ein.
A larger number of leaders were found among Eleazar’s descendants than among Ithamar’s, and they were divided accordingly: sixteen heads of families from Eleazar’s descendants and eight heads of families from Ithamar’s descendants.
Dabei ergab sich, dass bei den Nachkommen Eleasars mehr führende Männer waren als bei den Nachkommen Itamars. Man teilte daher den Nachkommen Eleasars sechzehn Oberhäupter von Großfamilien zu und den Nachkommen Itamars nur acht für ihre Großfamilien.
They divided them impartially by casting lots, for there were officials of the sanctuary and officials of God among the descendants of both Eleazar and Ithamar.
Doch teilte man diese wie jene durch das Los ein; denn Fürsten des Heiligtums, Fürsten Gottes, waren sowohl unter den Nachkommen Eleasars wie auch unter den Nachkommen Itamars.
The scribe Shemaiah son of Nethanel, a Levite, recorded their names in the presence of the king and of the officials: Zadok the priest, Ahimelek son of Abiathar and the heads of families of the priests and of the Levites — one family being taken from Eleazar and then one from Ithamar.
Der Schreiber Schemaja, der Sohn Netanels, ein Levit, schrieb sie auf im Beisein des Königs, der führenden Männer, des Priesters Zadok, Ahimelechs, des Sohnes Abjatars, sowie der Familienhäupter der Priester und Leviten. This was their appointed order of ministering when they entered the temple of the Lord, according to the regulations prescribed for them by their ancestor Aaron, as the Lord, the God of Israel, had commanded him.
Das waren ihre Dienstklassen, nach denen sie in das Haus des HERRN kommen mussten, wie es ihre Pflicht war, die sie von ihrem Vater Aaron übernommen hatten; so hatte es ihm der HERR, der Gott Israels, befohlen.

These were the Levites, according to their families.

They also cast lots, just as their relatives the descendants of Aaron did, in the presence of King David and of Zadok, Ahimelek, and the heads of families of the priests and of the Levites. The families of the oldest brother were treated the same as those of the youngest.
Auch sie warfen das Los wie ihre Brüder, die Söhne Aarons, im Beisein des Königs David, Zadoks und Ahimelechs sowie der Familienhäupter der Priester und Leviten, und zwar die Familien des Oberhauptes wie die seines jüngsten Bruders.
