Ein Lied von Salomo für Festbesucher, die nach Jerusalem hinaufziehen. Wenn der HERR nicht das Haus baut, dann ist alle Mühe der Bauleute umsonst. Wenn der HERR nicht die Stadt bewacht, dann wachen die Wächter vergeblich.
Ihr steht frühmorgens auf und gönnt euch erst spät am Abend Ruhe, um das sauer verdiente Brot zu essen. Doch ohne Gottes Segen ist alles umsonst! Denen, die er liebt, gibt Gott alles Nötige im Schlaf!
