Sag: So spricht GOTT, der Herr: Der große Adler mit großen Flügeln, mit weiter Schwinge, mit dichtem, buntem Gefieder kam zum Libanon und nahm den Wipfel der Zeder weg.
he broke off its topmost shoot and carried it away to a land of merchants, where he planted it in a city of traders.
Ihren obersten Zweig riss er ab. Ins Land der Krämer brachte er ihn, in die Stadt der Händler setzte er ihn.
“ ‘He took one of the seedlings of the land and put it in fertile soil. He planted it like a willow by abundant water,
Dann nahm er vom Samen des Landes und gab ihn in ein Saatfeld, als Schößling an reichliche Wasser, als Uferpflanze setzte er ihn
and it sprouted and became a low, spreading vine. Its branches turned toward him, but its roots remained under it. So it became a vine and produced branches and put out leafy boughs.
und er spross und wurde zum üppigen Weinstock von niedrigem Wuchs. Seine Ranken wandten sich ihm zu und seine Wurzeln blieben ihm untertan. Und er wurde zum Weinstock, bildete Triebe, entfaltete Zweige.
“ ‘But there was another great eagle with powerful wings and full plumage. The vine now sent out its roots toward him from the plot where it was planted and stretched out its branches to him for water.
Doch da war noch ein anderer großer Adler mit großen Flügeln und reichlich Gefieder. Und siehe, da drehte dieser Weinstock seine Wurzeln zu ihm hin, trieb ihm seine Ranken entgegen, damit er ihm zu trinken gab, mehr als das Beet, in das er gepflanzt war.
It had been planted in good soil by abundant water so that it would produce branches, bear fruit and become a splendid vine.’
Er war doch auf gutes Feld gepflanzt, an reichliche Wasser, um Zweige zu treiben und Frucht zu tragen und ein herrlicher Weinstock zu werden.
“Say to them, ‘This is what the Sovereign Lord says: Will it thrive? Will it not be uprooted and stripped of its fruit so that it withers? All its new growth will wither. It will not take a strong arm or many people to pull it up by the roots.
Sag: So spricht GOTT, der Herr: Wird das gelingen? Wird nicht einer seine Wurzeln ausreißen und seine Frucht verderben, sodass all seine grünenden Triebe verdorren? Er wird verdorren. Man braucht keinen starken Arm und nicht viel Volk, um ihn aus den Wurzeln zu heben.
It has been planted, but will it thrive? Will it not wither completely when the east wind strikes it — wither away in the plot where it grew?’ ”
Siehe, er ist gepflanzt, doch wird es gelingen? Wird er nicht völlig verdorren, wenn der Ostwind ihn trifft? Auf dem Beet, in dem er spross, wird er verdorren.
“Say to this rebellious people, ‘Do you not know what these things mean?’ Say to them: ‘The king of Babylon went to Jerusalem and carried off her king and her nobles, bringing them back with him to Babylon.
Sag doch zum Haus der Widerspenstigkeit: Erkennt ihr denn nicht, was all das bedeutet? Sag: Siehe, nach Jerusalem kam der König von Babel; er nahm ihren König und ihre Beamten gefangen und führte sie mit sich nach Babel.
Then he took a member of the royal family and made a treaty with him, putting him under oath. He also carried away the leading men of the land,
Und er nahm einen aus dem königlichen Stamm und schloss mit ihm einen Bund und er ließ ihn schwören. Die Mächtigen des Landes nahm er gefangen,
so that the kingdom would be brought low, unable to rise again, surviving only by keeping his treaty.
damit das Königtum niedrig bleibe und sich nicht erhebe, damit es seinen Bund hielt, sodass es Bestand haben konnte.
But the king rebelled against him by sending his envoys to Egypt to get horses and a large army. Will he succeed? Will he who does such things escape? Will he break the treaty and yet escape?
Doch er wurde von ihm abtrünnig, weil er seine Boten nach Ägypten sandte, damit man ihm Pferde und viel Volk gab. Wird es gelingen? Wird davonkommen, der das unternimmt? Wenn er den Bund bricht, wird er davonkommen?
“ ‘As surely as I live, declares the Sovereign Lord, he shall die in Babylon, in the land of the king who put him on the throne, whose oath he despised and whose treaty he broke.
So wahr ich lebe — Spruch GOTTES, des Herrn: Am Ort des Königs, der ihn zum König gemacht hat, dessen Eid er missachtet und dessen Bund er gebrochen hat, bei ihm, mitten in Babel, wird er sterben.
Pharaoh with his mighty army and great horde will be of no help to him in war, when ramps are built and siege works erected to destroy many lives.
Denn der Pharao wird ihn im Kampf nicht mit großer Streitmacht und zahlreichem Aufgebot unterstützen, wenn man einen Damm aufschüttet und einen Belagerungswall baut, um viele Menschenleben auszumerzen.
He despised the oath by breaking the covenant. Because he had given his hand in pledge and yet did all these things, he shall not escape.
Er hat den Eid missachtet, da er den Bund brach. Siehe, er hat seinen Handschlag gegeben und hat doch all das getan. Er wird nicht davonkommen.
“ ‘Therefore this is what the Sovereign Lord says: As surely as I live, I will repay him for despising my oath and breaking my covenant.
Darum — so spricht GOTT, der Herr: So wahr ich lebe — meinen Eid, den er missachtet, und meinen Bund, den er gebrochen hat, ich lasse sie auf sein Haupt zurückfallen.
I will spread my net for him, and he will be caught in my snare. I will bring him to Babylon and execute judgment on him there because he was unfaithful to me.
Ich werfe mein Netz über ihn, er wird gefangen in meinem Garn. Nach Babel führe ich ihn und gehe dort mit ihm ins Gericht wegen des Treubruchs, mit dem er mir die Treue gebrochen hat.
All his choice troops will fall by the sword, and the survivors will be scattered to the winds. Then you will know that I the Lord have spoken.
Die Flüchtigen aus allen seinen Truppen fallen unter dem Schwert. Die Übriggebliebenen aber werden in alle Winde zerstreut. Dann werdet ihr erkennen, dass ich, der HERR, gesprochen habe.
“ ‘This is what the Sovereign Lord says: I myself will take a shoot from the very top of a cedar and plant it; I will break off a tender sprig from its topmost shoots and plant it on a high and lofty mountain.
So spricht GOTT, der Herr: Ich selbst nehme vom hohen Wipfel der Zeder und setze ihn ein. Einen zarten Zweig aus ihren obersten Ästen breche ich ab, ich selbst pflanze ihn auf einen hohen und aufragenden Berg.
On the mountain heights of Israel I will plant it; it will produce branches and bear fruit and become a splendid cedar. Birds of every kind will nest in it; they will find shelter in the shade of its branches.
Auf dem hohen Berg Israels pflanze ich ihn. Dort treibt er dann Zweige, er trägt Früchte und wird zur prächtigen Zeder. Alle Vögel wohnen darin; alles, was Flügel hat, wohnt im Schatten ihrer Zweige.
All the trees of the forest will know that I the Lord bring down the tall tree and make the low tree grow tall. I dry up the green tree and make the dry tree flourish.
“ ‘I the Lord have spoken, and I will do it.’ ”
“ ‘I the Lord have spoken, and I will do it.’ ”
Dann werden alle Bäume des Feldes erkennen, dass ich der HERR bin. Ich mache den hohen Baum niedrig, den niedrigen Baum mache ich hoch. Ich lasse den grünenden Baum verdorren, den verdorrten Baum lasse ich erblühen. Ich, der HERR, habe gesprochen und ich führe es aus.
