The Appointed Boundaries of Canaan
Then the Lord spoke to Moses, saying,

Und der HERR redete mit Mose und sprach:
“Command the children of Israel, and say to them: ‘When you come into the land of Canaan, this is the land that shall fall to you as an inheritance — the land of Canaan to its boundaries.
Gebiete den Kindern Israel und sprich zu ihnen: Wenn ihr ins Land Kanaan kommt, so soll dies das Land sein, das euch zum Erbteil fällt, das Land Kanaan nach seinen Grenzen.
Your southern border shall be from the Wilderness of Zin along the border of Edom; then your southern border shall extend eastward to the end of the Salt Sea;
Die Ecke gegen Mittag soll anfangen an der Wüste Zin bei Edom, daß eure Grenze gegen Mittag sei vom Ende des Salzmeeres, das gegen Morgen liegt,
your border shall turn from the southern side of the Ascent of Akrabbim, continue to Zin, and be on the south of Kadesh Barnea; then it shall go on to Hazar Addar, and continue to Azmon;
und daß die Grenze sich lenke mittagwärts von der Steige Akrabbim und gehe durch Zin, und ihr Ausgang sei mittagwärts von Kades–Barnea und gelange zum Dorf Adar und gehe durch Azmon
the border shall turn from Azmon to the Brook of Egypt, and it shall end at the Sea.
und lenke sich von Azmon an den Bach Ägyptens, und ihr Ende sei an dem Meer.
‘As for the western border, you shall have the Great Sea for a border; this shall be your western border.
Aber die Grenze gegen Abend soll diese sein, nämlich das große Meer. Das sei eure Grenze gegen Abend.
‘And this shall be your northern border: From the Great Sea you shall mark out your border line to Mount Hor;
Die Grenze gegen Mitternacht soll diese sein: ihr sollt messen von dem großen Meer bis an den Berg Hor,
from Mount Hor you shall mark out your border to the entrance of Hamath; then the direction of the border shall be toward Zedad;
und von dem Berg Hor messen, bis man kommt gen Hamath, daß der Ausgang der Grenze sei gen Zedad
the border shall proceed to Ziphron, and it shall end at Hazar Enan. This shall be your northern border.
und die Grenze ausgehe gen Siphron und ihr Ende sei am Dorf Enan. Das sei eure Grenze gegen Mitternacht.
‘You shall mark out your eastern border from Hazar Enan to Shepham;
Und sollt euch messen die Grenze gegen Morgen vom Dorf Enan gen Sepham,
und die Grenze gehe herab von Sepham gen Ribla morgenwärts von Ain; darnach gehe sie herab und lenke sich an die Seite des Meers Kinneret gegen Morgen
the border shall go down along the Jordan, and it shall end at the Salt Sea. This shall be your land with its surrounding boundaries.’ ”
und komme herab an den Jordan, daß ihr Ende sei das Salzmeer. Das sei euer Land mit seiner Grenze umher.
Then Moses commanded the children of Israel, saying: “This is the land which you shall inherit by lot, which the Lord has commanded to give to the nine tribes and to the half-tribe.
Und Mose gebot den Kindern Israel und sprach: Das ist das Land, das ihr durchs Los unter euch teilen sollt, das der HERR geboten hat den neun Stämmen und dem halben Stamm zu geben.
For the tribe of the children of Reuben according to the house of their fathers, and the tribe of the children of Gad according to the house of their fathers, have received their inheritance; and the half-tribe of Manasseh has received its inheritance.
Denn der Stamm der Kinder Ruben nach ihren Vaterhäusern und der Stamm der Kinder Gad nach ihren Vaterhäuser und der halbe Stamm Manasse haben ihr Teil genommen.
The two tribes and the half-tribe have received their inheritance on this side of the Jordan, across from Jericho eastward, toward the sunrise.”
Also haben die zwei Stämme und der halbe Stamm ihr Erbteil dahin, diesseit des Jordans gegenüber Jericho gegen Morgen.
The Leaders Appointed to Divide the Land
And the Lord spoke to Moses, saying,
And the Lord spoke to Moses, saying,
Und der HERR redete mit Mose und sprach:
“These are the names of the men who shall divide the land among you as an inheritance: Eleazar the priest and Joshua the son of Nun.
Das sind die Namen der Männer, die das Land unter euch teilen sollen: der Priester Eleasar und Josua, der Sohn Nuns.
And you shall take one leader of every tribe to divide the land for the inheritance.
Dazu sollt ihr nehmen von einem jeglichen Stamm einen Fürsten, das Land auszuteilen.
These are the names of the men: from the tribe of Judah, Caleb the son of Jephunneh;
Und das sind der Männer Namen: Kaleb, der Sohn Jephunnes, des Stammes Juda;
from the tribe of the children of Simeon, Shemuel the son of Ammihud;
Samuel, der Sohn Ammihuds, des Stammes Simeon;
from the tribe of Benjamin, Elidad the son of Chislon;
Elidad, der Sohn Chislons, des Stammes Benjamin;
a leader from the tribe of the children of Dan, Bukki the son of Jogli;
Bukki, der Sohn Joglis, Fürst des Stammes der Kinder Dan;
from the sons of Joseph: a leader from the tribe of the children of Manasseh, Hanniel the son of Ephod,
Hanniel, der Sohn Ephods, Fürst des Stammes der Kinder Manasse, von den Kindern Joseph;
and a leader from the tribe of the children of Ephraim, Kemuel the son of Shiphtan;
Kemuel, der Sohn Siphtans, Fürst des Stammes der Kinder Ephraim;
a leader from the tribe of the children of Zebulun, Elizaphan the son of Parnach;
Elizaphan, der Sohn Parnachs, Fürst des Stammes der Kinder Sebulon;
a leader from the tribe of the children of Issachar, Paltiel the son of Azzan;
Paltiel, der Sohn Assans, Fürst des Stammes der Kinder Isaschar;
a leader from the tribe of the children of Asher, Ahihud the son of Shelomi;
Ahihud, der Sohn Selomis, Fürst des Stammes der Kinder Asser;
and a leader from the tribe of the children of Naphtali, Pedahel the son of Ammihud.”
Pedahel, der Sohn Ammihuds, Fürst des Stammes der Kinder Naphthali.
