An den Engel der Gemeinde in Sardes schreibe: So spricht Er, der die sieben Geister Gottes und die sieben Sterne hat: Ich kenne deine Taten. Dem Namen nach lebst du, aber du bist tot.
Wake up! Strengthen what little remains, for even what is left is almost dead. I find that your actions do not meet the requirements of my God.
Werde wach und stärke, was noch übrig ist, was schon im Sterben lag! Denn ich habe nicht gefunden, dass deine Taten in den Augen meines Gottes vollkommen sind.
Go back to what you heard and believed at first; hold to it firmly. Repent and turn to me again. If you don’t wake up, I will come to you suddenly, as unexpected as a thief.
Denk also daran, wie du die Lehre empfangen und gehört hast! Halte daran fest und kehr um! Wenn du aber nicht aufwachst, werde ich kommen wie ein Dieb und du wirst bestimmt nicht wissen, zu welcher Stunde ich zu dir komme.
“Yet there are some in the church in Sardis who have not soiled their clothes with evil. They will walk with me in white, for they are worthy.
Du hast aber einige Leute in Sardes, die ihre Kleider nicht befleckt haben; sie werden mit mir in weißen Gewändern gehen, denn sie sind es wert.
All who are victorious will be clothed in white. I will never erase their names from the Book of Life, but I will announce before my Father and his angels that they are mine.
Wer siegt, wird ebenso mit weißen Gewändern bekleidet werden. Nie werde ich seinen Namen aus dem Buch des Lebens streichen, sondern ich werde seinen Namen bekennen vor meinem Vater und vor seinen Engeln.
“Anyone with ears to hear must listen to the Spirit and understand what he is saying to the churches.
Wer Ohren hat, der höre, was der Geist den Gemeinden sagt.
An den Engel der Gemeinde in Philadelphia schreibe: So spricht der Heilige, der Wahrhaftige, der den Schlüssel Davids hat, der öffnet und niemand wird schließen, der schließt und niemand wird öffnen:
“I know all the things you do, and I have opened a door for you that no one can close. You have little strength, yet you obeyed my word and did not deny me.
Ich kenne deine Taten, siehe, ich habe vor dir eine Tür geöffnet, die niemand mehr schließen kann. Du hast nur geringe Kraft und dennoch hast du an meinem Wort festgehalten und meinen Namen nicht verleugnet.
Look, I will force those who belong to Satan’s synagogue — those liars who say they are Jews but are not — to come and bow down at your feet. They will acknowledge that you are the ones I love.
Siehe, ich will veranlassen, dass solche aus der Synagoge des Satans, die sich als Juden ausgeben, es aber nicht sind, sondern lügen — siehe, ich werde sie dazu bringen, dass sie kommen und sich dir zu Füßen werfen und erkennen, dass ich dir meine Liebe zugewandt habe.
“Because you have obeyed my command to persevere, I will protect you from the great time of testing that will come upon the whole world to test those who belong to this world.
Du hast mein Gebot bewahrt, standhaft zu bleiben; daher werde auch ich dich bewahren vor der Stunde der Versuchung, die über die ganze Erde kommen soll, um die Bewohner der Erde auf die Probe zu stellen.
Ich komme bald. Halte fest, was du hast, damit kein anderer deinen Kranz bekommt!
All who are victorious will become pillars in the Temple of my God, and they will never have to leave it. And I will write on them the name of my God, and they will be citizens in the city of my God — the new Jerusalem that comes down from heaven from my God. And I will also write on them my new name.
Wer siegt, den werde ich zu einer Säule im Tempel meines Gottes machen und er wird nicht mehr hinausgehen. Und ich werde auf ihn den Namen meines Gottes schreiben und den Namen der Stadt meines Gottes, des neuen Jerusalem, das aus dem Himmel herabkommt von meinem Gott, und auch meinen neuen Namen.

An den Engel der Gemeinde in Laodizea schreibe: So spricht Er, der Amen heißt, der treue und zuverlässige Zeuge, der Anfang der Schöpfung Gottes:
“I know all the things you do, that you are neither hot nor cold. I wish that you were one or the other!
Ich kenne deine Taten. Du bist weder kalt noch heiß. Wärest du doch kalt oder heiß!
But since you are like lukewarm water, neither hot nor cold, I will spit you out of my mouth!
Daher, weil du lau bist, weder heiß noch kalt, will ich dich aus meinem Mund ausspeien.
You say, ‘I am rich. I have everything I want. I don’t need a thing!’ And you don’t realize that you are wretched and miserable and poor and blind and naked.
Du behauptest: Ich bin reich und wohlhabend und nichts fehlt mir. Du weißt aber nicht, dass gerade du elend und erbärmlich bist, arm, blind und nackt.
So I advise you to buy gold from me — gold that has been purified by fire. Then you will be rich. Also buy white garments from me so you will not be shamed by your nakedness, and ointment for your eyes so you will be able to see.
Darum rate ich dir: Kaufe von mir Gold, das im Feuer geläutert ist, damit du reich wirst; und kaufe von mir weiße Kleider, damit du dich bekleidest und die Schande deiner Blöße nicht aufgedeckt wird; und kaufe Salbe, um deine Augen zu salben, damit du sehen kannst!
I correct and discipline everyone I love. So be diligent and turn from your indifference.
Wen ich liebe, den weise ich zurecht und nehme ihn in Zucht. Mach also Ernst und kehr um!
“Look! I stand at the door and knock. If you hear my voice and open the door, I will come in, and we will share a meal together as friends.
Siehe, ich stehe vor der Tür und klopfe an. Wenn einer meine Stimme hört und die Tür öffnet, bei dem werde ich eintreten und Mahl mit ihm halten und er mit mir.
Those who are victorious will sit with me on my throne, just as I was victorious and sat with my Father on his throne.
Wer siegt, der darf mit mir auf meinem Thron sitzen, so wie auch ich gesiegt habe und mich mit meinem Vater auf seinen Thron gesetzt habe.
