Denn nicht, wer sich selbst empfiehlt, ist anerkannt, sondern der, den der Herr empfiehlt.

Denn darum ist einer nicht tüchtig, daß er sich selbst lobt, sondern daß ihn der HERR lobt.

Niemand ist schon deshalb ein bewährter Diener Gottes, weil er sich selbst empfiehlt. Entscheidend ist, dass Gott ihm ein gutes Zeugnis ausstellt.
