Ahab befahl nun Obadja: »Geh durch das Land zu allen Quellen und Bächen! Vielleicht gibt es dort noch etwas Gras, mit dem wir zumindest einige unserer Pferde und Maultiere durchbringen können.«

So sprach nun Ahab zu Obadja: Zieh durchs Land zu allen Wasserbrunnen und Bächen, ob wir möchten Heu finden und die Rosse und Maultiere erhalten, daß nicht das Vieh alles umkomme.

Ahab befahl nun Obadja: Geh an alle Wasserquellen und Bäche im Land! Vielleicht finden wir Gras, damit wir Pferde und Maultiere am Leben erhalten können und nicht einen Teil des Viehs töten müssen.
