А перелю́бника око чекає смерка́ння, говорячи: „Не побачить мене жодне око!“ і засло́ну кладе на обличчя.

Підко́пуються під доми́ в темноті́, замика́ються вдень, світла не знають вони,

бо ра́нок для них усіх ра́зом — то те́мрява, і знають вони жахи те́мряви.
“For the morning is the same to him as thick darkness,

Такий легкий він на пове́рхні води, на землі їхня частка прокля́та, — не ве́рнеться він на дорогу садів-виноградів.

Як посу́ха та спе́ка їдять сніжну во́ду, так шео́л поїсть грі́шників!

Забуде його лоно матері, буде жерти черва́ його, мов солодо́щі, більше не буде він зга́дуваний, — і безбожник поламаний буде, мов де́рево!

Чинить зло для бездітної він, щоб вона не родила, і вдовиці не зробить добра́.

А міццю своєю він тягне могутніх, — коли він встає, то ніхто вже не певний свойо́го життя!
