König David übergab ihm und 2700 erfahrenen Männern seiner Sippe die Verantwortung für das Gebiet der Stämme Ruben, Gad und Ost-Manasse. Jeder dieser Männer war ein Familienoberhaupt. Auch sie mussten sich für die Belange des Tempels einsetzen und standen im Dienst des Königs.
