Schlagen wird der HERR die Ägypter, schlagen und heilen. Kehren sie um zum HERRN, lässt er sich von ihren Bitten bewegen und heilt sie.

Und der HERR wird die Ägypter plagen und heilen; denn sie werden sich bekehren zum HERRN, und er wird sich erbitten lassen und sie heilen.

Zwar muss er sie erst hart bestrafen, doch gerade durch die Schläge bringt er sie auf den richtigen Weg: Sie werden sich ihm zuwenden, und er wird ihre Gebete erhören und sie wieder heilen.
