Darum: Wie des Feuers Zunge Stoppeln frisst und wie Heu in der Flamme zusammensinkt, so wird ihre Wurzel wie Moder sein und ihre Blüte wie Staub auffliegen. Denn verworfen haben sie die Weisung des HERRN der Heerscharen und das Wort des Heiligen Israels verschmäht.

Darum, wie des Feuers Flamme Stroh verzehrt und die Lohe Stoppeln hinnimmt, also wird ihre Wurzel verfaulen und ihre Blüte auffliegen wie Staub. Denn sie verachten das Gesetz des HERRN Zebaoth und lästern die Rede des Heiligen in Israel.

Darum werden sie brennen wie die Stoppeln auf dem Acker, ja, wie ein Strohhaufen. Sie werden zugrunde gehen wie eine Blume, deren Wurzeln verfaulen, wie Blüten, die der Wind zerstreut. Denn sie haben das Gesetz des HERRN, des allmächtigen Gottes, abgelehnt und sich nicht zu Herzen genommen, was der heilige Gott seinem Volk Israel gesagt hat.

Therefore as the fire devoureth the stubble, and the flame consumeth the chaff, so their root shall be as rottenness, and their blossom shall go up as dust: because they have cast away the law of the LORD of hosts, and despised the word of the Holy One of Israel.
