Now will I sing to my wellbeloved a song of my beloved touching his vineyard. My wellbeloved hath a vineyard in a very fruitful hill:

Er grub ihn um und entfernte die Steine und bepflanzte ihn mit edlen Reben. Er baute in seiner Mitte einen Turm und hieb zudem eine Kelter in ihm aus. Dann hoffte er, dass der Weinberg Trauben brächte, doch er brachte nur faule Beeren.
And he fenced it, and gathered out the stones thereof, and planted it with the choicest vine, and built a tower in the midst of it, and also made a winepress therein: and he looked that it should bring forth grapes, and it brought forth wild grapes.
Und nun, Bewohner Jerusalems und Männer von Juda, richtet zwischen mir und meinem Weinberg!
And now, O inhabitants of Jerusalem, and men of Judah, judge, I pray you, betwixt me and my vineyard.
Was hätte es für meinen Weinberg noch zu tun gegeben, das ich ihm nicht getan hätte? Warum hoffte ich, dass er Trauben brächte? Und er brachte nur faule Beeren!
What could have been done more to my vineyard, that I have not done in it? wherefore, when I looked that it should bring forth grapes, brought it forth wild grapes?
Jetzt aber will ich euch kundtun, was ich mit meinem Weinberg mache: seine Hecke entfernen, sodass er abgeweidet wird; einreißen seine Mauer, sodass er zertrampelt wird.
And now go to; I will tell you what I will do to my vineyard: I will take away the hedge thereof, and it shall be eaten up; and break down the wall thereof, and it shall be trodden down:
Zu Ödland will ich ihn machen. Nicht werde er beschnitten, nicht behackt, sodass Dornen und Disteln hochkommen. Und den Wolken gebiete ich, keinen Regen auf ihn fallen zu lassen.
And I will lay it waste: it shall not be pruned, nor digged; but there shall come up briers and thorns: I will also command the clouds that they rain no rain upon it.
Denn der Weinberg des HERRN der Heerscharen ist das Haus Israel und die Männer von Juda sind die Pflanzung seiner Lust. Er hoffte auf Rechtsspruch — doch siehe da: Rechtsbruch, auf Rechtsverleih — doch siehe da: Hilfegeschrei.
For the vineyard of the LORD of hosts is the house of Israel, and the men of Judah his pleasant plant: and he looked for judgment, but behold oppression; for righteousness, but behold a cry.
Wehe denen, die Haus an Haus reihen und Feld an Feld fügen, bis kein Platz mehr da ist und ihr allein die Bewohner seid inmitten des Landes.
Woes to the Wicked
Woe unto them that join house to house, that lay field to field, till there be no place, that they may be placed alone in the midst of the earth!

In meinen Ohren schwur der HERR der Heerscharen: Wahrhaftig, viele Häuser werden veröden. So groß und schön sie auch sind: Sie werden unbewohnt sein.
In mine ears said the LORD of hosts, Of a truth many houses shall be desolate, even great and fair, without inhabitant.
Ein Weinberg von zehn Joch bringt nur ein Bat Wein, ein Hómer Saatgut bringt nur ein Efa Korn.
Yea, ten acres of vineyard shall yield one bath, and the seed of an homer shall yield an ephah.
Wehe denen, die früh am Morgen dem Bier nachjagen und in der Dämmerung lange aushalten, wenn der Wein sie erhitzt.
Woe unto them that rise up early in the morning, that they may follow strong drink; that continue until night, till wine inflame them!
Da sind Leier und Harfe, Trommel und Flöte und Wein bei ihren Trinkgelagen, aber auf das Tun des HERRN blicken sie nicht und das Werk seiner Hände haben sie nicht gesehen.
And the harp, and the viol, the tabret, and pipe, and wine, are in their feasts: but they regard not the work of the LORD, neither consider the operation of his hands.
Darum geht mein Volk in die Verbannung wegen fehlender Erkenntnis. Seine Vornehmen sind Hungerleider und seine Menge verschmachtet vor Durst.
Therefore my people are gone into captivity, because they have no knowledge: and their honourable men are famished, and their multitude dried up with thirst.
Darum hat die Unterwelt ihren Rachen weit aufgerissen und maßlos sperrt sie ihr Maul auf, sodass ihre Pracht und ihre Menge hinabfährt, ihre lärmende Schar und wer darin jubelt.
Therefore hell hath enlarged herself, and opened her mouth without measure: and their glory, and their multitude, and their pomp, and he that rejoiceth, shall descend into it.
Der Mensch beugte sich, der Mann sank hinunter und die Blicke der Hochmütigen senkten sich.
And the mean man shall be brought down, and the mighty man shall be humbled, and the eyes of the lofty shall be humbled:
Und der HERR der Heerscharen war hocherhaben im Gericht und der heilige Gott erwies sich als heilig in Gerechtigkeit.
But the LORD of hosts shall be exalted in judgment, and God that is holy shall be sanctified in righteousness.
Dann weiden dort Lämmer wie auf ihrer Trift, als durchziehende Gäste fressen sie die Trümmer der Fetten.
Then shall the lambs feed after their manner, and the waste places of the fat ones shall strangers eat.
Wehe denen, die Schuld mit Stricken des Trugs herbeiziehen und Sünde wie mit Wagenseilen.
Woe unto them that draw iniquity with cords of vanity, and sin as it were with a cart rope:
Sie sagen: Er eile, er beschleunige sein Werk, damit wir sehen; es nahe und treffe ein der Ratschluss des Heiligen Israels, damit wir erkennen.
That say, Let him make speed, and hasten his work, that we may see it: and let the counsel of the Holy One of Israel draw nigh and come, that we may know it!
Wehe denen, die das Böse gut und das Gute böse nennen, die die Finsternis zum Licht und das Licht zur Finsternis machen, die das Bittere süß und das Süße bitter machen.
Woe unto them that call evil good, and good evil; that put darkness for light, and light for darkness; that put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter!
Wehe denen, die in ihren eigenen Augen weise sind und sich selbst für klug halten.
Woe unto them that are wise in their own eyes, and prudent in their own sight!
Wehe denen, die Helden sind im Weintrinken und Kraftprotze im Mischen von Rauschtrank,
Woe unto them that are mighty to drink wine, and men of strength to mingle strong drink:
die dem Schuldigen gegen Bestechung Recht zusprechen und Gerechten die Gerechtigkeit vorenthalten.
Which justify the wicked for reward, and take away the righteousness of the righteous from him!
Darum: Wie des Feuers Zunge Stoppeln frisst und wie Heu in der Flamme zusammensinkt, so wird ihre Wurzel wie Moder sein und ihre Blüte wie Staub auffliegen. Denn verworfen haben sie die Weisung des HERRN der Heerscharen und das Wort des Heiligen Israels verschmäht.
Therefore as the fire devoureth the stubble, and the flame consumeth the chaff, so their root shall be as rottenness, and their blossom shall go up as dust: because they have cast away the law of the LORD of hosts, and despised the word of the Holy One of Israel.
Darum ist der Zorn des HERRN gegen sein Volk entbrannt; er hat seine Hand gegen es ausgestreckt und es geschlagen. Da erzitterten die Berge und ihre Leichen lagen wie Unrat inmitten der Gassen. Bei alldem hat sein Zorn sich nicht abgewandt und noch bleibt seine Hand ausgestreckt.
Therefore is the anger of the LORD kindled against his people, and he hath stretched forth his hand against them, and hath smitten them: and the hills did tremble, and their carcases were torn in the midst of the streets. For all this his anger is not turned away, but his hand is stretched out still.
Er stellt ein Feldzeichen auf für die Nationen in der Ferne, er pfeift sie herbei vom Ende der Erde und siehe, eilends, schnell kommen sie heran.
And he will lift up an ensign to the nations from far, and will hiss unto them from the end of the earth: and, behold, they shall come with speed swiftly:
Kein Müder und kein Strauchelnder ist darunter, keiner, der schlummert und schläft. Bei keinem löst sich der Gürtel von seinen Hüften, noch reißt der Riemen seiner Sandalen.
None shall be weary nor stumble among them; none shall slumber nor sleep; neither shall the girdle of their loins be loosed, nor the latchet of their shoes be broken:
Seine Pfeile sind scharf, all seine Bogen gespannt. Die Hufe seiner Pferde gleichen dem Kiesel und seine Räder dem Sturm.
Whose arrows are sharp, and all their bows bent, their horses' hoofs shall be counted like flint, and their wheels like a whirlwind:
Sein Gebrüll ist wie das einer Löwin, wie das Gebrüll von Junglöwen. Er faucht und packt die Beute, birgt sie und niemand entreißt sie ihm.
Their roaring shall be like a lion, they shall roar like young lions: yea, they shall roar, and lay hold of the prey, and shall carry it away safe, and none shall deliver it.
Und es tobt gegen ihn an jenem Tag wie das Toben des Meeres. Blickt man auf die Erde, siehe: beengende Finsternis und das Licht ist verfinstert durch Wolkendunkel über ihr.
And in that day they shall roar against them like the roaring of the sea: and if one look unto the land, behold darkness and sorrow, and the light is darkened in the heavens thereof.
