Das Wort der HERRN erging an mich im neunten Jahr, im zehnten Monat, am Zehnten des Monats:
The Parable of the Cooking Pot
Again in the ninth year, in the tenth month, in the tenth day of the month, the word of the LORD came unto me, saying,

Menschensohn, schreib dir den Namen dieses Tages auf, genau den heutigen Tag! Am heutigen Tag hat sich der König von Babel auf Jerusalem gestürzt.
Son of man, write thee the name of the day, even of this same day: the king of Babylon set himself against Jerusalem this same day.
Leg dem widerspenstigen Volk ein Gleichnis vor und sag zu ihnen: So spricht GOTT, der Herr: Stell den Kessel auf, stell ihn auf; und gieß auch Wasser hinein!
And utter a parable unto the rebellious house, and say unto them, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Set on a pot, set it on, and also pour water into it:
Leg seine Fleischstücke zusammen hinein, jedes gute Stück, Lende und Schulter! Mit den besten Knochen fülle ihn auf!
Gather the pieces thereof into it, even every good piece, the thigh, and the shoulder; fill it with the choice bones.
Nimm die Besten von der Herde! Auch die Knochen leg ringsum unter den Kessel! Bring ihn zum Sieden! Auch seine Knochen in seiner Mitte sollen kochen!
Take the choice of the flock, and burn also the bones under it, and make it boil well, and let them seethe the bones of it therein.
Darum — so spricht GOTT, der Herr: Weh der Blutstadt, dem verrosteten Kessel und dem Rost, der nicht abgeht! Stück für Stück nimm wahllos heraus!
Wherefore thus saith the Lord GOD; Woe to the bloody city, to the pot whose scum is therein, and whose scum is not gone out of it! bring it out piece by piece; let no lot fall upon it.
Denn ihr Blut war mitten in ihr. An den nackten Felsen hat sie es getan, statt es auf die Erde auszugießen, um es mit Staub zu bedecken.
For her blood is in the midst of her; she set it upon the top of a rock; she poured it not upon the ground, to cover it with dust;
Indem ich meinen Zorn aufsteigen lasse, um Vergeltung zu üben, habe ich ihr Blut auf nacktem Felsen vergossen, damit es nicht bedeckt werde.
That it might cause fury to come up to take vengeance; I have set her blood upon the top of a rock, that it should not be covered.
Darum — so spricht GOTT, der Herr: Weh der Blutstadt! Auch ich mache groß den Holzstoß.
Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD; Woe to the bloody city! I will even make the pile for fire great.
Häufe Holz auf, zünde Feuer an, koche das Fleisch, koche die Brühe ein und die Knochen sollen verbrennen!
Heap on wood, kindle the fire, consume the flesh, and spice it well, and let the bones be burned.
Dann stelle ihn leer auf seine Kohlen, damit sein Kupfer sich erhitzt und glüht und geschmolzen wird, was an ihm unrein ist, sein Rost verschwindet!
Then set it empty upon the coals thereof, that the brass of it may be hot, and may burn, and that the filthiness of it may be molten in it, that the scum of it may be consumed.
Doch umsonst die Mühe: Sein starker Rost geht nicht von ihm ab, im Feuer bleibt sein Rost.
She hath wearied herself with lies, and her great scum went not forth out of her: her scum shall be in the fire.
In deiner Unreinheit besteht die Schandtat. Weil ich dich rein machen wollte, du aber nicht rein wurdest, sollst du von deiner Unreinheit nicht mehr rein werden, bis ich meinen Zorn an dir gestillt habe.
In thy filthiness is lewdness: because I have purged thee, and thou wast not purged, thou shalt not be purged from thy filthiness any more, till I have caused my fury to rest upon thee.
Ich, der HERR, habe gesprochen. Es kommt und ich führe es aus. Ich gebe nicht nach. Ich habe kein Mitleid, es reut mich nicht. Nach deinen Wegen und deinen Taten werden sie dich richten — Spruch GOTTES, des Herrn.
I the LORD have spoken it: it shall come to pass, and I will do it; I will not go back, neither will I spare, neither will I repent; according to thy ways, and according to thy doings, shall they judge thee, saith the Lord GOD.

Also the word of the LORD came unto me, saying,

Menschensohn, siehe, ich nehme dir die Freude deiner Augen durch einen jähen Tod. Doch du sollst weder klagen noch weinen. Keine Träne darfst du vergießen.
Son of man, behold, I take away from thee the desire of thine eyes with a stroke: yet neither shalt thou mourn nor weep, neither shall thy tears run down.
Stöhne, bleib still! Keine Totentrauer sollst du halten. Binde deinen Kopfbund um und zieh deine Schuhe an deine Füße! Verhülle deinen Bart nicht und iss kein Brot von Menschen!
Forbear to cry, make no mourning for the dead, bind the tire of thine head upon thee, and put on thy shoes upon thy feet, and cover not thy lips, and eat not the bread of men.
Ich redete am Morgen zum Volk. Meine Frau starb am Abend, und ich tat am Morgen, wie mir befohlen war.
So I spake unto the people in the morning: and at even my wife died; and I did in the morning as I was commanded.
Da sagte das Volk zu mir: Willst du uns nicht erklären, was dein Verhalten für uns zu bedeuten hat?
And the people said unto me, Wilt thou not tell us what these things are to us, that thou doest so?
Ich antwortete ihnen: Das Wort des HERRN ist an mich ergangen.
Then I answered them, The word of the LORD came unto me, saying,
Sag zum Haus Israel: So spricht GOTT, der Herr: Siehe, ich werde mein Heiligtum entweihen, euren Stolz und eure Macht, die Freude eurer Augen und die Sehnsucht eurer Seele. Eure Söhne und eure Töchter, die ihr zurückgelassen habt, werden unter dem Schwert fallen.
Speak unto the house of Israel, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Behold, I will profane my sanctuary, the excellency of your strength, the desire of your eyes, and that which your soul pitieth; and your sons and your daughters whom ye have left shall fall by the sword.
Dann werdet ihr handeln, wie ich gehandelt habe: Ihr werdet den Bart nicht verhüllen und kein Brot von Menschen essen.
And ye shall do as I have done: ye shall not cover your lips, nor eat the bread of men.
Mit eurem Kopfbund auf eurem Haupt und euren Schuhen an euren Füßen werdet ihr weder klagen noch weinen, sondern in euren Sünden dahinsiechen und miteinander stöhnen.
And your tires shall be upon your heads, and your shoes upon your feet: ye shall not mourn nor weep; but ye shall pine away for your iniquities, and mourn one toward another.
Ezechiel wird ein Mahnzeichen für euch sein. Genauso wie er gehandelt hat, werdet ihr handeln; wenn das eintrifft, werdet ihr erkennen, dass ich GOTT, der Herr, bin.
Thus Ezekiel is unto you a sign: according to all that he hath done shall ye do: and when this cometh, ye shall know that I am the Lord GOD.
Du aber, Menschensohn, ist es nicht so? An jenem Tag, wenn ich ihnen ihren Zufluchtsort nehme, ihre Wonne und ihre Pracht, die Freude ihrer Augen und das Verlangen ihrer Seele, ihre Söhne und ihre Töchter,
Also, thou son of man, shall it not be in the day when I take from them their strength, the joy of their glory, the desire of their eyes, and that whereupon they set their minds, their sons and their daughters,
an jenem Tag wird zu dir der Flüchtling kommen, um die Nachricht zu Gehör zu bringen.
That he that escapeth in that day shall come unto thee, to cause thee to hear it with thine ears?
An jenem Tag, mit dem Flüchtling, wird sich dein Mund öffnen. Du wirst reden und nicht mehr stumm sein. So wirst du zu einem Mahnzeichen für sie und sie werden erkennen, dass ich der HERR bin.
In that day shall thy mouth be opened to him which is escaped, and thou shalt speak, and be no more dumb: and thou shalt be a sign unto them; and they shall know that I am the LORD.
