Da trat der Versucher an ihn heran und sagte: Wenn du Gottes Sohn bist, so befiehl, dass aus diesen Steinen Brot wird.
And the tempter came and said to Him, “If You are the Son of God, command that these stones become bread.”
Er aber antwortete: In der Schrift heißt es: Der Mensch lebt nicht vom Brot allein, sondern von jedem Wort, das aus Gottes Mund kommt.
But He answered and said, “It is written, ‘MAN SHALL NOT LIVE ON BREAD ALONE, BUT ON EVERY WORD THAT PROCEEDS OUT OF THE MOUTH OF GOD.’”
Darauf nahm ihn der Teufel mit sich in die Heilige Stadt, stellte ihn oben auf den Tempel
Then the devil took Him into the holy city and had Him stand on the pinnacle of the temple,

and said to Him, “If You are the Son of God, throw Yourself down; for it is written,
‘HE WILL COMMAND HIS ANGELS CONCERNING YOU’;
and
‘ON their HANDS THEY WILL BEAR YOU UP,
SO THAT YOU WILL NOT STRIKE YOUR FOOT AGAINST A STONE.’”

Jesus antwortete ihm: In der Schrift heißt es auch: Du sollst den Herrn, deinen Gott, nicht auf die Probe stellen.
Jesus said to him, “On the other hand, it is written, ‘YOU SHALL NOT PUT THE LORD YOUR GOD TO THE TEST.’”
Wieder nahm ihn der Teufel mit sich und führte ihn auf einen sehr hohen Berg; er zeigte ihm alle Reiche der Welt mit ihrer Pracht
Again, the devil took Him to a very high mountain and showed Him all the kingdoms of the world and their glory;
und sagte zu ihm: Das alles will ich dir geben, wenn du dich vor mir niederwirfst und mich anbetest.
and he said to Him, “All these things I will give You, if You fall down and worship me.”
Da sagte Jesus zu ihm: Weg mit dir, Satan! Denn in der Schrift steht: Den Herrn, deinen Gott, sollst du anbeten und ihm allein dienen.
Then Jesus said to him, “Go, Satan! For it is written, ‘YOU SHALL WORSHIP THE LORD YOUR GOD, AND SERVE HIM ONLY.’”
Darauf ließ der Teufel von ihm ab und siehe, es kamen Engel und dienten ihm.
Then the devil left Him; and behold, angels came and began to minister to Him.
Als Jesus hörte, dass Johannes ausgeliefert worden war, kehrte er nach Galiläa zurück.
Jesus Begins His Ministry
Now when Jesus heard that John had been taken into custody, He withdrew into Galilee;
Er verließ Nazaret, um in Kafarnaum zu wohnen, das am See liegt, im Gebiet von Sebulon und Naftali.
and leaving Nazareth, He came and settled in Capernaum, which is by the sea, in the region of Zebulun and Naphtali.

Das Volk, das im Dunkel saß, hat ein helles Licht gesehen; denen, die im Schattenreich des Todes wohnten, ist ein Licht erschienen.
“THE PEOPLE WHO WERE SITTING IN DARKNESS SAW A GREAT LIGHT,
AND THOSE WHO WERE SITTING IN THE LAND AND SHADOW OF DEATH,

Von da an begann Jesus zu verkünden: Kehrt um! Denn das Himmelreich ist nahe.
From that time Jesus began to preach and say, “Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.”
Als Jesus am See von Galiläa entlangging, sah er zwei Brüder, Simon, genannt Petrus, und seinen Bruder Andreas; sie warfen gerade ihr Netz in den See, denn sie waren Fischer.
The First Disciples
Now as Jesus was walking by the Sea of Galilee, He saw two brothers, Simon who was called Peter, and Andrew his brother, casting a net into the sea; for they were fishermen.
Da sagte er zu ihnen: Kommt her, mir nach! Ich werde euch zu Menschenfischern machen.
And He said to them, “Follow Me, and I will make you fishers of men.”
Sofort ließen sie ihre Netze liegen und folgten ihm nach.
Immediately they left their nets and followed Him.
Als er weiterging, sah er zwei andere Brüder, Jakobus, den Sohn des Zebedäus, und seinen Bruder Johannes; sie waren mit ihrem Vater Zebedäus im Boot und richteten ihre Netze her. Er rief sie
Going on from there He saw two other brothers, James the son of Zebedee, and John his brother, in the boat with Zebedee their father, mending their nets; and He called them.
und sogleich verließen sie das Boot und ihren Vater und folgten Jesus nach.
Immediately they left the boat and their father, and followed Him.
Er zog in ganz Galiläa umher, lehrte in den Synagogen, verkündete das Evangelium vom Reich und heilte im Volk alle Krankheiten und Leiden.
Ministry in Galilee
Jesus was going throughout all Galilee, teaching in their synagogues and proclaiming the gospel of the kingdom, and healing every kind of disease and every kind of sickness among the people.
Und sein Ruf verbreitete sich in ganz Syrien. Man brachte alle Kranken mit den verschiedensten Gebrechen und Leiden zu ihm, Besessene, Mondsüchtige und Gelähmte, und er heilte sie.
The news about Him spread throughout all Syria; and they brought to Him all who were ill, those suffering with various diseases and pains, demoniacs, epileptics, paralytics; and He healed them.
