Als die Israeliten sahen, dass sie in Gefahr gerieten und dass das Volk bedrängt wurde, versteckten sie sich in Höhlen, Schlupflöchern, Felsspalten, Gruben und Zisternen.

Da das sahen die Männer Israels, daß sie in Nöten waren (denn dem Volk war bange, verkrochen sie sich in die Höhlen und Klüfte und Felsen und Löcher und Gruben.

Als die Israeliten die Übermacht der Philister sahen, der ihr eigenes Heer niemals gewachsen sein konnte, verkrochen sie sich in Höhlen, Dickichten und Felsspalten, in Grabhöhlen und Zisternen.
