Die Oberschicht von Jerusalem führte er in die Verbannung: alle Offiziere und erfahrenen Soldaten, alle Schmiede und Schlosser, insgesamt 10.000 Gefangene. Zurück blieb nur das einfache Volk.

Und führte weg das ganze Jerusalem, alle Obersten, alle Gewaltigen, 10,000 Gefangene, und alle Zimmerleute und alle Schmiede und ließ nichts übrig denn geringes Volk des Landes.

Von ganz Jerusalem verschleppte er alle Vornehmen und alle wehrfähigen Männer, insgesamt zehntausend Mann, auch alle Schmiede und Schlosser. Von den Bürgern des Landes blieben nur die geringen Leute zurück.
