Die Einwohner verhöhnten David: »In unsere Stadt wirst du nie hereinkommen!« Doch David und seine Truppen eroberten die Festung Zion, die später »Stadt Davids« genannt wurde.

Und die Bürger zu Jebus sprachen zu David: Du sollst nicht hereinkommen. David aber gewann die Burg Zion, das ist Davids Stadt.

Die Jebusiter aber sagten zu David: Du wirst nicht in die Stadt hereinkommen. Doch David eroberte die Burg Zion; sie wurde die Stadt Davids.
