Noch einmal empfing ich eine Botschaft vom HERRN. Er sprach zu mir:
Prophecy against the King of Tyre
The word of the LORD came again unto me, saying,

»Du Mensch, geh zum Fürsten von Tyrus und richte ihm meine Worte aus: Du bist hochmütig und behauptest voller Stolz: ›Ich bin ein Gott und throne wie ein Gott auf meiner Insel mitten im Meer!‹ Doch auch wenn du dich selbst für einen Gott hältst, bist und bleibst du nur ein Mensch!
Son of man, say unto the prince of Tyrus, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Because thine heart is lifted up, and thou hast said, I am a God, I sit in the seat of God, in the midst of the seas; yet thou art a man, and not God, though thou set thine heart as the heart of God:
Zwar bist du weiser als Daniel, kein Geheimnis ist zu dunkel für dich.
Behold, thou art wiser than Daniel; there is no secret that they can hide from thee:
Weisheit und Verstand haben dich sehr reich gemacht, deine Schatzkammern sind voll mit Silber und Gold.
With thy wisdom and with thine understanding thou hast gotten thee riches, and hast gotten gold and silver into thy treasures:
Durch kluge Geschäfte hast du deinen Besitz immer weiter vergrößert. Doch all dies hat dich stolz und überheblich gemacht,
By thy great wisdom and by thy traffick hast thou increased thy riches, and thine heart is lifted up because of thy riches:
und nun glaubst du, selbst göttlich zu sein. Darum sage ich, Gott, der HERR:
Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD; Because thou hast set thine heart as the heart of God;
Du wirst schon sehen, was du davon hast: Ein grausames Heer aus vielen Völkern lasse ich über dich herfallen. Mit ihren Schwertern werden sie deine ganze Pracht zerstören und alles Schöne in den Schmutz treten, das du mit deiner Weisheit erworben hast.
Behold, therefore I will bring strangers upon thee, the terrible of the nations: and they shall draw their swords against the beauty of thy wisdom, and they shall defile thy brightness.
Sie werden dich in den Tod stoßen, und das Meer wird dein Grab sein.
They shall bring thee down to the pit, and thou shalt die the deaths of them that are slain in the midst of the seas.
Wenn du dem Tod ins Auge blickst, wirst du dann immer noch behaupten, ein Gott zu sein? Du bist ja doch nur ein vergänglicher Mensch und kannst nichts gegen deine Mörder ausrichten!
Wilt thou yet say before him that slayeth thee, I am God? but thou shalt be a man, and no God, in the hand of him that slayeth thee.
Durch die Hand von Fremden wirst du sterben wie ein unbeschnittener Heide, denn so habe ich es beschlossen. Ja, darauf gebe ich, Gott, der HERR, dir mein Wort.«
Thou shalt die the deaths of the uncircumcised by the hand of strangers: for I have spoken it, saith the Lord GOD.
Weiter sprach der HERR zu mir:
A Lament over the King of Tyre
Moreover the word of the LORD came unto me, saying,

»Du Mensch, stimm ein Klagelied an über das Unglück, das den König von Tyrus erwartet! Richte ihm aus, was ich, Gott, der HERR, ihm zu sagen habe: Du warst der Inbegriff der Vollkommenheit, voll Weisheit und vollendeter Schönheit.
Son of man, take up a lamentation upon the king of Tyrus, and say unto him, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Thou sealest up the sum, full of wisdom, and perfect in beauty.
Du lebtest in Eden, dem Garten Gottes, und trugst Edelsteine jeder Art: Karneol, Topas und Jaspis, Türkis, Onyx und Nephrit, Saphir, Rubin und Smaragd. Sie waren kunstvoll verarbeitet und in feinstes Gold eingefasst. Ich schmückte dich mit ihnen an dem Tag, als ich dich schuf.
Thou hast been in Eden the garden of God; every precious stone was thy covering, the sardius, topaz, and the diamond, the beryl, the onyx, and the jasper, the sapphire, the emerald, and the carbuncle, and gold: the workmanship of thy tabrets and of thy pipes was prepared in thee in the day that thou wast created.
Auf meinem heiligen Berg ließ ich dich wohnen, ein Kerub schützte dich mit ausgebreiteten Flügeln, und zwischen feurigen Steinen gingst du umher.
Thou art the anointed cherub that covereth; and I have set thee so: thou wast upon the holy mountain of God; thou hast walked up and down in the midst of the stones of fire.
Als ich dich schuf, warst du untadelig und vollkommen, doch dann fingst du an, Unrecht zu tun.
Thou wast perfect in thy ways from the day that thou wast created, till iniquity was found in thee.
Dein Handel blühte, und der Erfolg verführte dich zu üblen Machenschaften und Gewalttaten. Darum vertrieb ich dich von meinem Berg, und der Kerub stieß dich von den feurigen Steinen fort in den Untergang.
By the multitude of thy merchandise they have filled the midst of thee with violence, and thou hast sinned: therefore I will cast thee as profane out of the mountain of God: and I will destroy thee, O covering cherub, from the midst of the stones of fire.
Deine Schönheit ist dir zu Kopf gestiegen, deine prachtvolle Erscheinung ließ dich handeln wie ein Narr. Darum habe ich dich zu Boden geworfen, ich habe dich erniedrigt vor den Augen anderer Könige; voller Verachtung blicken sie nun auf dich herab.
Thine heart was lifted up because of thy beauty, thou hast corrupted thy wisdom by reason of thy brightness: I will cast thee to the ground, I will lay thee before kings, that they may behold thee.
Durch betrügerischen Handel hast du große Schuld auf dich geladen und deine Heiligtümer entweiht. Darum ließ ich mitten in deiner Stadt ein Feuer ausbrechen, das sie vollkommen niederbrannte. Wer sie jetzt sucht, findet nur noch einen Haufen Asche.
Thou hast defiled thy sanctuaries by the multitude of thine iniquities, by the iniquity of thy traffick; therefore will I bring forth a fire from the midst of thee, it shall devour thee, and I will bring thee to ashes upon the earth in the sight of all them that behold thee.
Alle Völker, die dich kannten, sind entsetzt. Ein Bild des Schreckens bist du geworden, es ist aus mit dir für alle Zeit!«
All they that know thee among the people shall be astonished at thee: thou shalt be a terror, and never shalt thou be any more.
Da gab der HERR mir eine weitere Botschaft. Er forderte mich auf:
A Prophecy against Sidon
Again the word of the LORD came unto me, saying,
Again the word of the LORD came unto me, saying,
»Du Mensch, blick in die Richtung, wo die Stadt Sidon liegt, und kündige ihr mein Gericht an!
Son of man, set thy face against Zidon, and prophesy against it,
Ich, Gott, der HERR, sage: Sidon, jetzt bekommst du es mit mir zu tun! Wenn ich Gericht über dich halte, werden alle sehen, dass ich ein heiliger Gott bin. Ja, ich werde mein Urteil an dir vollstrecken und dadurch meine Macht und Herrlichkeit zeigen. Jeder soll erkennen, dass ich der HERR bin.
And say, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Behold, I am against thee, O Zidon; and I will be glorified in the midst of thee: and they shall know that I am the LORD, when I shall have executed judgments in her, and shall be sanctified in her.
In deinen Häusern wird die Pest ausbrechen, und in deinen Straßen wird Blut fließen. Von allen Seiten bedrängen dich deine Feinde, und viele deiner Einwohner werden dem Schwert zum Opfer fallen. Dann erkennst du, dass ich der HERR bin.«
For I will send into her pestilence, and blood into her streets; and the wounded shall be judged in the midst of her by the sword upon her on every side; and they shall know that I am the LORD.
»Jetzt noch verachten die feindlichen Nachbarvölker die Israeliten und fügen ihnen Schmerzen zu wie Dornen und Stacheln. In Zukunft aber werden die Israeliten vor ihnen Ruhe haben. Dann werden sie erkennen, dass ich Gott, der HERR, bin.
And there shall be no more a pricking brier unto the house of Israel, nor any grieving thorn of all that are round about them, that despised them; and they shall know that I am the Lord GOD.
Ich verspreche, sie aus allen Völkern zurückzubringen, unter die sie jetzt noch zerstreut sind. Dann werden auch ihre Feinde sehen, dass ich der heilige Gott bin. Mein Volk wird wieder in dem Land wohnen, das ich vor langer Zeit meinem Diener Jakob gegeben habe.
The Restoration of Israel
Thus saith the Lord GOD; When I shall have gathered the house of Israel from the people among whom they are scattered, and shall be sanctified in them in the sight of the heathen, then shall they dwell in their land that I have given to my servant Jacob.

Dann können sie in Ruhe und Sicherheit leben, Häuser bauen und Weinberge anlegen. Doch ihre Nachbarvölker, die nur Verachtung für sie übrig hatten, werde ich richten. So wird mein Volk erkennen, dass ich, der HERR, ihr Gott bin.«
And they shall dwell safely therein, and shall build houses, and plant vineyards; yea, they shall dwell with confidence, when I have executed judgments upon all those that despise them round about them; and they shall know that I am the LORD their God.
