»Es folgt eine Liste der Stämme Israels mit ihren jeweiligen Gebieten. Im nördlichsten Teil des Landes liegt das Gebiet des Stammes Dan. Seine Nordgrenze verläuft vom Mittelmeer ostwärts in Richtung der Stadt Hetlon, dann weiter über Lebo-Hamat bis nach Hazar-Enan. Nördlich dieser Linie liegt der Herrschaftsbereich von Damaskus, direkt neben dem von Hamat. Dans Anteil erstreckt sich von West nach Ost über die ganze Breite des Landes.
The Portion for the Tribes
Now these are the names of the tribes. From the north end to the coast of the way of Hethlon, as one goeth to Hamath, Hazarenan, the border of Damascus northward, to the coast of Hamath; for these are his sides east and west; a portion for Dan.

Darauf folgen in südlicher Richtung die Stämme Asser, Naftali, Manasse, Ephraim, Ruben und Juda. Auch ihr Land reicht jeweils von der West- bis zur Ostgrenze.
And by the border of Dan, from the east side unto the west side, a portion for Asher.
Südlich an den Grundbesitz von Juda grenzt das Gebiet, das ihr für mich zurückbehalten sollt. Es erstreckt sich — wie auch die Stammesgebiete — vom Mittelmeer bis zur Ostgrenze des Landes; von Norden nach Süden ist es 12,5 Kilometer breit. In seiner Mitte steht das Heiligtum.
And by the border of Judah, from the east side unto the west side, shall be the offering which ye shall offer of five and twenty thousand reeds in breadth, and in length as one of the other parts, from the east side unto the west side: and the sanctuary shall be in the midst of it.
Der Teil, der mir besonders geweiht ist, hat von Westen nach Osten eine Länge von 12,5 Kilometern und von Norden nach Süden eine Breite von 10 Kilometern.
The oblation that ye shall offer unto the LORD shall be of five and twenty thousand in length, and of ten thousand in breadth.
Die eine Hälfte dieses heiligen Bezirks steht den Priestern, den Nachkommen von Zadok, zu. Denn sie haben sich nicht wie die Leviten von mir abgewandt, als die Israeliten mir den Rücken kehrten. Sie allein sind mir treu geblieben und haben den Tempeldienst gewissenhaft ausgeübt. Darum bekommen sie von dem mir geweihten Land den Teil, der besonders heilig ist, weil dort der Tempel steht. Dieser Bereich ist 12,5 Kilometer lang und 5 Kilometer breit.

And for them, even for the priests, shall be this holy oblation; toward the north five and twenty thousand in length, and toward the west ten thousand in breadth, and toward the east ten thousand in breadth, and toward the south five and twenty thousand in length: and the sanctuary of the LORD shall be in the midst thereof.

Die Leviten erhalten die andere Hälfte des heiligen Gebiets. Es ist wie das Stück der Priester 12,5 Kilometer lang und 5 Kilometer breit.

Der ganze Bezirk, der mir, dem HERRN, gehört, ist der beste Teil des Landes. Weil er heilig ist, dürft ihr ihn nicht verkaufen oder gegen ein anderes Gebiet eintauschen. Er soll nicht an einen anderen Besitzer übergehen.
And they shall not sell of it, neither exchange, nor alienate the firstfruits of the land: for it is holy unto the LORD.
Südlich des heiligen Bezirks, auf dem der Tempel steht, bleibt noch ein 2,5 mal 12,5 Kilometer großes Gebiet übrig. Es gilt nicht als heilig. Hier können sich die Einwohner von Jerusalem ansiedeln und Weideplätze für ihre Herden anlegen. Die Stadt Jerusalem soll in der Mitte dieses Bereichs liegen.
And the five thousand, that are left in the breadth over against the five and twenty thousand, shall be a profane place for the city, for dwelling, and for suburbs: and the city shall be in the midst thereof.
Ihr Grundriss ist quadratisch mit einer Seitenlänge von jeweils 2,25 Kilometern.
And these shall be the measures thereof; the north side four thousand and five hundred, and the south side four thousand and five hundred, and on the east side four thousand and five hundred, and the west side four thousand and five hundred.
Rundherum verläuft ein Streifen Weideland von 125 Metern Breite.
And the suburbs of the city shall be toward the north two hundred and fifty, and toward the south two hundred and fifty, and toward the east two hundred and fifty, and toward the west two hundred and fifty.
Daran grenzt nach Westen und nach Osten je ein 5 Kilometer langes Gebiet. Die Nordseite des gesamten Bereichs ist genauso lang wie der mir geweihte Bezirk und schließt sich direkt daran an. Hier können alle, die in Jerusalem arbeiten, Felder bebauen und die Ernte einbringen.
And the residue in length over against the oblation of the holy portion shall be ten thousand eastward, and ten thousand westward: and it shall be over against the oblation of the holy portion; and the increase thereof shall be for food unto them that serve the city.
Wer in der Stadt wohnt, darf dort die Felder bestellen, ganz gleich, aus welchem Stamm er kommt.
And they that serve the city shall serve it out of all the tribes of Israel.
Der ganze Bezirk, den ihr für mich zurückbehaltet, soll zusammen mit dem Gebiet um Jerusalem ein Quadrat von 12,5 mal 12,5 Kilometern bilden.
All the oblation shall be five and twenty thousand by five and twenty thousand: ye shall offer the holy oblation foursquare, with the possession of the city.
Westlich und östlich an das mir geweihte Land und an das Gebiet um Jerusalem grenzt der Grundbesitz des Herrschers. Er ist von Norden nach Süden 12,5 Kilometer breit — genauso wie die beiden heiligen Bezirke und das Stadtgebiet von Jerusalem zusammen. Nach Westen erstreckt er sich bis zum Mittelmeer und nach Osten bis zum Jordan, wie die Gebiete der Stämme. Er nimmt den ganzen Bereich zwischen dem Gebiet von Juda im Norden und dem Grundbesitz von Benjamin im Süden ein, ausgenommen das Mittelstück, das für die Priester und die Leviten bestimmt ist und auf dem die Stadt Jerusalem und der Tempel stehen.

And the residue shall be for the prince, on the one side and on the other of the holy oblation, and of the possession of the city, over against the five and twenty thousand of the oblation toward the east border, and westward over against the five and twenty thousand toward the west border, over against the portions for the prince: and it shall be the holy oblation; and the sanctuary of the house shall be in the midst thereof.

Daran schließen sich in südlicher Richtung — jeweils von der Westgrenze bis zur Ostgrenze — die Gebiete der Stämme Benjamin, Simeon, Issachar, Sebulon und Gad an.

As for the rest of the tribes, from the east side unto the west side, Benjamin shall have a portion.

Südlich des Grundbesitzes von Gad verläuft die Grenze Israels von Tamar zu der Quelle Meriba bei Kadesch und von dort weiter zu dem Bach, der die Grenze nach Ägypten bildet und ins Mittelmeer mündet.
And by the border of Gad, at the south side southward, the border shall be even from Tamar unto the waters of strife in Kadesh, and to the river toward the great sea.
Teilt den einzelnen Stämmen ihr Gebiet durch das Los zu. Sie sollen es für immer besitzen und an ihre Nachkommen weitervererben. Das sage ich, Gott, der HERR.«
