Du hast ihm ja Macht über die Menschen gegeben, damit er allen das ewige Leben schenkt, die du ihm anvertraut hast.
As thou hast given him power over all flesh, that he should give eternal life to as many as thou hast given him.
Und genau darin besteht das ewige Leben: dich, den einen wahren Gott, zu erkennen und Jesus Christus, den du gesandt hast.
And this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent.
Ich habe hier auf der Erde deine Herrlichkeit sichtbar gemacht und alles getan, was du mir aufgetragen hast.
I have glorified thee on the earth: I have finished the work which thou gavest me to do.
Und nun, Vater, wenn ich wieder bei dir bin, dann schenk mir die Herrlichkeit, die ich bereits vor Erschaffung der Welt bei dir hatte.
And now, O Father, glorify thou me with thine own self with the glory which I had with thee before the world was.
Ich habe den Menschen gezeigt, wer du bist, und zwar allen, die du aus der Welt herausgerufen und mir anvertraut hast. Dir gehörten sie schon immer, und du hast sie mir gegeben. Sie haben sich deine Worte zu Herzen genommen,

I have manifested thy name unto the men which thou gavest me out of the world: thine they were, and thou gavest them me; and they have kept thy word.

und jetzt wissen sie, dass alles, was ich bekommen habe, von dir ist.
Now they have known that all things whatsoever thou hast given me are of thee.
Denn was du mir gesagt hast, habe ich ihnen weitergegeben. Sie haben deine Botschaft angenommen und wirklich erkannt, dass ich von dir hergekommen bin; sie glauben daran, dass du mich gesandt hast.«
For I have given unto them the words which thou gavest me; and they have received them, and have known surely that I came out from thee, and they have believed that thou didst send me.
»Für sie bitte ich dich jetzt: nicht für die ganze Welt, sondern für die Menschen, die du mir anvertraut hast. Denn sie gehören zu dir.
I pray for them: I pray not for the world, but for them which thou hast given me; for they are thine.
Alles, was ich habe, das gehört dir, und was du hast, das gehört auch mir. An ihnen zeigt sich meine Herrlichkeit.
And all mine are thine, and thine are mine; and I am glorified in them.
Ich verlasse jetzt die Welt und komme zu dir. Sie aber bleiben zurück. Vater, du heiliger Gott, erhalte sie in der Gemeinschaft mit dir, damit sie eins sind wie wir.
And now I am no more in the world, but these are in the world, and I come to thee. Holy Father, keep through thine own name those whom thou hast given me, that they may be one, as we are.
Solange ich bei ihnen war, habe ich sie in der Gemeinschaft mit dir erhalten, alle, die du mir anvertraut hast. Ich habe sie bewahrt, und keiner von ihnen ist verloren gegangen — außer dem einen, der verloren gehen musste, damit sich die Voraussage der Heiligen Schrift erfüllte.
While I was with them in the world, I kept them in thy name: those that thou gavest me I have kept, and none of them is lost, but the son of perdition; that the scripture might be fulfilled.
Jetzt komme ich zu dir zurück. Ich sage all das, solange ich noch bei ihnen in dieser Welt bin, damit meine Freude auch sie ganz erfüllt.
And now come I to thee; and these things I speak in the world, that they might have my joy fulfilled in themselves.
Ich habe ihnen deine Botschaft weitergegeben, und die Welt hasst sie deswegen, weil sie ebenso wie ich nicht zu ihr gehören.
I have given them thy word; and the world hath hated them, because they are not of the world, even as I am not of the world.
Ich bitte dich nicht, sie aus der Welt zu nehmen, aber schütze sie vor der Macht des Bösen!
I pray not that thou shouldest take them out of the world, but that thou shouldest keep them from the evil.
Sie gehören ebenso wenig zur Welt wie ich.

Lass ihnen deine Wahrheit leuchten, damit sie in immer engerer Gemeinschaft mit dir leben! Dein Wort ist die Wahrheit!
Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth.
Wie du mich in die Welt gesandt hast, so sende ich sie in die Welt.
As thou hast sent me into the world, even so have I also sent them into the world.
Für sie gebe ich mein Leben hin, damit ihr Leben ganz dir gehört.«
And for their sakes I sanctify myself, that they also might be sanctified through the truth.
»Ich bitte aber nicht nur für sie, sondern für alle, die durch ihre Worte von mir hören werden und an mich glauben.
Prayer for all Believers
Neither pray I for these alone, but for them also which shall believe on me through their word;

Sie alle sollen eins sein, genauso wie du, Vater, mit mir eins bist. So wie du in mir bist und ich in dir bin, sollen auch sie in uns fest miteinander verbunden sein. Dann wird die Welt glauben, dass du mich gesandt hast.
That they all may be one; as thou, Father, art in me, and I in thee, that they also may be one in us: that the world may believe that thou hast sent me.
Deshalb habe ich ihnen auch die Herrlichkeit gegeben, die du mir anvertraut hast, damit sie die gleiche enge Gemeinschaft haben wie wir.
And the glory which thou gavest me I have given them; that they may be one, even as we are one:
Ich bleibe in ihnen, und du bleibst in mir. Genauso sollen auch sie vollkommen eins sein. Dann wird die Welt erkennen, dass du mich gesandt hast und dass du meine Jünger liebst, wie du mich liebst.
I in them, and thou in me, that they may be made perfect in one; and that the world may know that thou hast sent me, and hast loved them, as thou hast loved me.
Vater, ich möchte, dass alle, die du mir gegeben hast, mit mir dort sind, wo ich sein werde. Sie sollen meine Herrlichkeit sehen, die du mir gegeben hast. Denn du hast mich geliebt, lange bevor die Welt geschaffen wurde.
Father, I will that they also, whom thou hast given me, be with me where I am; that they may behold my glory, which thou hast given me: for thou lovedst me before the foundation of the world.
Vater, du gerechter Gott! Wenn die Welt dich auch nicht kennt, ich kenne dich, und diese hier haben erkannt, dass du mich gesandt hast.
O righteous Father, the world hath not known thee: but I have known thee, and these have known that thou hast sent me.
