David saß zwischen dem inneren und dem äußeren Stadttor und wartete. Als der Wächter wieder einmal auf den Turm stieg, um Ausschau zu halten, sah er einen Mann, der allein auf Mahanajim zulief.

David saß zwischen den beiden Toren. Der Späher aber war auf das Dach des Tores, auf die Mauer, gestiegen, und als er Ausschau hielt, sah er einen einzelnen Mann herbeilaufen.
