Und Baruch las aus dem Buche die Reden Jeremia’s im Hause des HERRN, in der Kapelle Gemarjas, des Sohnes Saphans, des Kanzlers, im obern Vorhof, vor dem neuen Tor am Hause des HERRN, vor dem ganzen Volk.

Baruch las Jeremias Worte vor den versammelten Israeliten vor, und alle hörten gespannt zu. Er saß in der Kammer von Gemarja, der ein Sohn des Hofsekretärs Schafan war; die Kammer lag am oberen Vorhof, dicht beim Neuen Tor des Tempels.

Nun las Baruch im Haus des HERRN dem ganzen Volk aus dem Buch die Worte Jeremias vor, und zwar in der Halle Gemarjas, des Sohnes des Schreibers Schafan, im oberen Vorhof am Eingang des Neuen Tempeltores.
