Er stand und maß die Erde, er schaute und machte beben die Heiden, daß zerschmettert wurden die Berge, die von alters her sind, und sich bücken mußten die ewigen Hügel, da er wie vor alters einherzog.

Wo immer sein Fuß hintritt, bebt die Erde; trifft sein Blick die Völker, so erschrecken sie. Berge aus grauer Vorzeit bersten auseinander, uralte Hügel sinken in sich zusammen; so schreitet er wie früher über unsere Erde.

Er stellt sich auf und misst die Erde ab. Er blickt hin und lässt die Völker erzittern. Da zerbersten die ewigen Berge, versinken die uralten Hügel. Das sind von jeher seine Wege.
