Das aber unter die Dornen gesät ist, das ist, wenn jemand das Wort hört, und die Sorge dieser Welt und der Betrug des Reichtums erstickt das Wort, und er bringt nicht Frucht.

Noch andere Menschen gleichen dem von Dornengestrüpp überwucherten Boden: Sie hören die Botschaft zwar, doch die Sorgen des Alltags und die Verlockungen des Reichtums ersticken diese bald wieder, so dass keine Frucht daraus entstehen kann.

In die Dornen ist der Samen bei dem gefallen, der das Wort hört, und die Sorgen dieser Welt und der trügerische Reichtum ersticken es und es bleibt ohne Frucht.
