Aber das Volk der Männer von Israel ermannte sich und stellte sich auf, noch weiter zu streiten am selben Ort, da sie sich des vorigen Tages gestellt hatten.

Die Israeliten flohen nach Bethel zum Heiligtum des HERRN und weinten dort bis zum Abend. Sie fragten den HERRN: »Sollen wir noch einmal gegen unsere Brüder vom Stamm Benjamin kämpfen?« Der HERR antwortete: »Ja, greift sie an!« Nun fassten die Israeliten wieder Mut. Sie stellten sich am nächsten Tag an derselben Stelle auf,

Doch das Volk, die Männer Israels, fassten wieder Mut und stellten sich noch einmal zum Kampf auf, am gleichen Ort, wo sie sich am ersten Tag aufgestellt hatten.
