So höre doch nun mein Herr, der König, die Worte seines Knechtes: Reizt dich der HERR wider mich, so lasse man ihn ein Speisopfer riechen; tun’s aber Menschenkinder, so seien sie verflucht vor dem HERRN, daß sie mich heute verstoßen, daß ich nicht hafte in des HERRN Erbteil, und sprechen: Gehe hin, diene andern Göttern!

Ich bitte dich, mein König, hör mich an! Irgendjemand muss dich gegen mich aufgehetzt haben. War es der HERR, so will ich ihm ein wohlriechendes Opfer darbringen, damit sein Zorn sich legt. Sind es aber Menschen gewesen, so möge der Fluch des HERRN sie treffen. Denn sie vertreiben mich aus dem Volk Gottes und wollen mich damit zwingen, anderen Göttern zu dienen.

Möge doch mein Herr, der König, jetzt auf die Worte seines Knechtes hören: Wenn der HERR dich gegen mich aufgereizt hat, möge er ein wohlriechendes Opfer erhalten. Wenn es aber Menschen waren, dann sollen sie verflucht sein vor dem HERRN; denn sie haben mich vertrieben, sodass ich jetzt nicht mehr am Erbbesitz des HERRN teilhaben kann. Sie sagen: Geh fort, diene anderen Göttern!
