But what do I see?
The Egyptian army flees in terror.
The bravest of its fighting men run
without a backward glance.
They are terrorized at every turn,”
says the LORD.

Wherefore have I seen them dismayed and turned away back? and their mighty ones are beaten down, and are fled apace, and look not back: for fear was round about, saith the LORD.

Doch was sehe ich, der HERR? Entsetzt weichen sie zurück! Ihre kampferprobten Soldaten werden auseinandergetrieben, sie fliehen Hals über Kopf, ohne noch einmal zurückzuschauen. Überall herrschen Angst und Schrecken.

Warum sehe ich: Sie sind bestürzt, sie weichen zurück. Ihre Helden sind zersprengt, sie ergreifen die Flucht und wenden sich nicht mehr um — Grauen ringsum! — Spruch des HERRN.
