Prophecy Against Tyre
In the eleventh year, on the first day of the month, the word of the Lord came to me:

Im 11. Jahr unserer Verbannung, am 1. Tag des Monats, gab mir der HERR eine Botschaft und sprach:
“Son of man, because Tyre said concerning Jerusalem, ‘Aha, the gate of the peoples is broken; it has swung open to me. I shall be replenished, now that she is laid waste,’
»Du Mensch, die Einwohner der Handelsstadt Tyrus verhöhnen Jerusalem und rufen: ›Haha, das Tor zu den Völkern ist zerbrochen! Nun sind wir die Herren, wir werden reich und bedeutend sein, denn Jerusalem ist nur noch ein Trümmerhaufen!‹
therefore thus says the Lord God: Behold, I am against you, O Tyre, and will bring up many nations against you, as the sea brings up its waves.
Darum sage ich, Gott, der HERR: Jetzt bekommst du es mit mir zu tun, Tyrus! Viele Völker lasse ich gegen dich heranrücken, unaufhaltsam wie Meereswogen.
They shall destroy the walls of Tyre and break down her towers, and I will scrape her soil from her and make her a bare rock.
Sie zerstören deine Stadtmauern und reißen deine Türme ab. Ich fege das Erdreich weg, bis nur noch der nackte Fels aus dem Meer ragt.
She shall be in the midst of the sea a place for the spreading of nets, for I have spoken, declares the Lord God. And she shall become plunder for the nations,
Du sollst ein unbewohnter Felsen werden, auf dem die Fischer ihre Netze zum Trocknen auslegen. Darauf gebe ich, Gott, der HERR, mein Wort. Feindliche Völker plündern dich aus,
and her daughters on the mainland shall be killed by the sword. Then they will know that I am the Lord.
und mit ihren Schwertern bringen sie alle Einwohner deiner Tochterstädte auf dem Festland um. Daran sollst du erkennen, dass ich der HERR bin.
Ich, Gott, der HERR, sage dir: Ich lasse Nebukadnezar, den König von Babylonien, den größten aller Herrscher, gegen dich kämpfen. Aus dem Norden wird er dich mit einem gewaltigen Heer überfallen, mit einem großen Aufgebot an Pferden, Streitwagen und Reitern.
He will kill with the sword your daughters on the mainland. He will set up a siege wall against you and throw up a mound against you, and raise a roof of shields against you.
Die Einwohner deiner Tochterstädte auf dem Festland tötet er mit dem Schwert. Gegen deine Mauern schüttet er einen Wall auf, er baut Angriffsrampen und errichtet Schutzdächer für seine Truppen.
He will direct the shock of his battering rams against your walls, and with his axes he will break down your towers.
Seine Soldaten rennen mit ihren Rammböcken gegen deine Mauern an und bringen sie zum Einstürzen, deine Türme reißen sie mit eisernen Werkzeugen nieder.
His horses will be so many that their dust will cover you. Your walls will shake at the noise of the horsemen and wagons and chariots, when he enters your gates as men enter a city that has been breached.
Wenn sie auf ihren Pferden herangaloppieren, werden Staubwolken dich bedecken. Deine Mauern erzittern vom Lärm der Reiter und der rasselnden Streitwagen, die durch deine aufgebrochenen Tore hereinstürmen.
With the hoofs of his horses he will trample all your streets. He will kill your people with the sword, and your mighty pillars will fall to the ground.
Die Pferde zertrampeln den Boden in deinen Gassen, die Reiter metzeln deine Einwohner mit ihren Schwertern nieder, und deine mächtigen Steinsäulen versinken in den Trümmern.
They will plunder your riches and loot your merchandise. They will break down your walls and destroy your pleasant houses. Your stones and timber and soil they will cast into the midst of the waters.
Die Feinde plündern deine Schätze und deine Handelsgüter. Sie brechen deine Mauern ab und reißen deine prächtigen Häuser nieder. Die Steine, die Balken und den ganzen Schutt werfen sie ins Meer.
And I will stop the music of your songs, and the sound of your lyres shall be heard no more.
Ich sorge dafür, dass der Lärm deiner Lieder verstummt, und auch vom Spiel auf der Laute hört man nichts mehr.
I will make you a bare rock. You shall be a place for the spreading of nets. You shall never be rebuilt, for I am the Lord; I have spoken, declares the Lord God.
Ich mache dich zu einem kahlen Felsen, auf dem die Fischer ihre Netze zum Trocknen auslegen. Nie wieder sollst du aufgebaut werden! Das kündige ich, Gott, der HERR, an, und mein Wort gilt!
“Thus says the Lord God to Tyre: Will not the coastlands shake at the sound of your fall, when the wounded groan, when slaughter is made in your midst?
Tyrus, ich habe dir noch etwas zu sagen: Die Inseln erbeben, wenn du mit lautem Getöse zusammenfällst. Ihre Bewohner zittern, wenn sie die Schlachtrufe der Mörder und das Stöhnen der Sterbenden hören.
Then all the princes of the sea will step down from their thrones and remove their robes and strip off their embroidered garments. They will clothe themselves with trembling; they will sit on the ground and tremble every moment and be appalled at you.
Die Herrscher der Küstenvölker steigen von ihrem Thron herunter. Sie legen ihre prächtigen Mäntel und ihre bunten Gewänder ab. Der Schreck lässt sie nicht los, sie kauern voller Entsetzen auf der Erde und hören nicht mehr auf zu zittern.
And they will raise a lamentation over you and say to you,
“‘How you have perished,
you who were inhabited from the seas,
O city renowned,
who was mighty on the sea;
she and her inhabitants imposed their terror
on all her inhabitants!

Dann stimmen sie ein Klagelied über dich an und singen: ›Ach, nun liegst du in Trümmern, Festung an der Küste, ruhmreiche Stadt! Das Meer gehörte dir, deine Nachbarn mussten sich vor dir fürchten.
Now the coastlands tremble
on the day of your fall,
and the coastlands that are on the sea
are dismayed at your passing.’

Auf den Inseln ringsum herrscht Entsetzen, alle zittern vor Schreck über dein grausames Ende.‹
“For thus says the Lord God: When I make you a city laid waste, like the cities that are not inhabited, when I bring up the deep over you, and the great waters cover you,
Ich, Gott, der HERR, kündige dir an: Ich lege dich in Trümmer, es soll dir nicht besser gehen als anderen Städten, die zerstört und verlassen sind. Aus den Tiefen der Meere lasse ich Wasser heraufsteigen, und die Fluten werden dich bedecken.
then I will make you go down with those who go down to the pit, to the people of old, and I will make you to dwell in the world below, among ruins from of old, with those who go down to the pit, so that you will not be inhabited; but I will set beauty in the land of the living.
Ich stoße dich hinunter zu denen, die ins Grab gesunken sind, zu den Völkern, die in grauer Vorzeit lebten. In den Tiefen unter der Erde musst du hausen, mitten in den Ruinen aus längst vergangener Zeit. Dort im Totenreich sollst du bleiben. Denn nie wieder wirst du bewohnt sein, nie wieder Macht besitzen in der Welt der Lebenden.
I will bring you to a dreadful end, and you shall be no more. Though you be sought for, you will never be found again, declares the Lord God.”
Ja, ich bereite dir ein schreckliches Ende. Es wird dich nicht mehr geben, und wer dich sucht, wird dich nie wieder finden. Darauf gebe ich, Gott, der HERR, mein Wort.«
