HERR, rette mich vor bösen Menschen! Beschütze mich vor denen, die sich mit roher Gewalt durchsetzen!
They have sharpened their tongues like a serpent; adders' poison is under their lips. Selah.
Ständig brüten sie Gemeinheiten aus und versuchen, Streit anzufangen.
Keep me, O LORD, from the hands of the wicked; preserve me from the violent man; who have purposed to overthrow my goings.

Grant not, O LORD, the desires of the wicked: further not his wicked device; lest they exalt themselves. Selah.

As for the head of those that compass me about, let the mischief of their own lips cover them.
So hilf mir auch jetzt: Durchkreuze die Pläne der Unheilstifter, lass ihre bösen Vorhaben misslingen, damit sie nicht noch überheblicher werden!
Let burning coals fall upon them: let them be cast into the fire; into deep pits, that they rise not up again.
Lass sie selbst von dem Leid überwältigt werden, das sie mir zufügen wollten!
Let not an evil speaker be established in the earth: evil shall hunt the violent man to overthrow him.
Sprich ihnen das Urteil: Lass glühende Kohlen auf sie fallen, stürze sie ins Feuer, in tiefe Schluchten, aus denen sie nicht mehr entkommen können!
I know that the LORD will maintain the cause of the afflicted, and the right of the poor.
Wer den guten Ruf eines anderen zerstört, der soll in diesem Land kein Glück haben. Und wer vor brutaler Gewalt nicht zurückschreckt, der soll vom Unglück verfolgt werden.
