Von David. Er verfasste dieses Lied, nachdem er sich vor Abimelech wahnsinnig gestellt hatte und darum weggejagt wurde.

Ich habe es selbst erlebt: Ich war am Ende, da schrie ich zum HERRN, und er hörte mein Flehen; aus aller Bedrängnis hat er mich befreit.

Der Engel des HERRN umgibt alle mit seinem Schutz, die Gott achten und ehren, und rettet sie aus der Gefahr.

Probiert es aus und erlebt selbst, wie gut der HERR ist! Glücklich ist, wer bei ihm Zuflucht sucht!

Begegnet dem HERRN mit Ehrfurcht, alle, die ihr zu ihm gehört! Denn wer ihn ernst nimmt, der muss keinen Mangel leiden.

Selbst kräftige junge Löwen müssen manchmal hungern, wer aber nach dem HERRN fragt, dem fehlt es an nichts.

Dann achtet auf das, was ihr sagt: Keine Lüge, kein gemeines Wort soll über eure Lippen kommen.

Denn der HERR sieht mit Freude auf solche Menschen, die nach seinem Willen leben, und hat immer ein offenes Ohr für ihre Bitten.

Allen jedoch, die Böses tun, stellt sich der HERR entgegen und löscht jede Erinnerung an sie aus.

Wenn aber rechtschaffene Menschen zu ihm rufen, hört er sie und rettet sie aus jeder Not.

Der HERR ist denen nahe, die verzweifelt sind, und rettet diejenigen, die alle Hoffnung verloren haben.

Zwar bleiben auch dem, der sich zu Gott hält, Schmerz und Leid nicht erspart; doch aus allem befreit ihn der HERR!
