O Gott, verschaffe mir Recht und verteidige mich gegen die Menschen, die keine Güte kennen! Befreie mich von diesen Lügnern und Betrügern!
For thou art the God of my strength: why dost thou cast me off? why go I mourning because of the oppression of the enemy?
Du bist doch mein Beschützer. Warum lässt du mich jetzt fallen? Warum muss ich leiden unter der Gewalt meiner Feinde?
O send out thy light and thy truth: let them lead me; let them bring me unto thy holy hill, and to thy tabernacles.
Gib mir dein Licht und deine Wahrheit! Sie sollen mich zurückführen zu deinem heiligen Berg, zu dem Ort, wo du wohnst!

Warum nur bin ich so traurig? Warum ist mein Herz so schwer? Auf Gott will ich hoffen, denn ich weiß: Ich werde ihm wieder danken. Er ist mein Gott, er wird mir beistehen!
