Ein Klagelied von David. Er trug es dem HERRN vor, als er unter den Anschuldigungen des Benjaminiters Kusch zu leiden hatte.
Lest he tear my soul like a lion, rending it in pieces, while there is none to deliver.
HERR, mein Gott, bei dir suche ich Schutz. Bring mich in Sicherheit vor all meinen Verfolgern! Ich bitte dich: Rette mich doch,
O LORD my God, if I have done this; if there be iniquity in my hands;
sonst bin ich ihnen hilflos ausgeliefert und sie zerfleischen mich wie ein Löwe seine Beute.
If I have rewarded evil unto him that was at peace with me; (yea, I have delivered him that without cause is mine enemy:)
HERR, mein Gott, wenn das zutrifft, was man mir vorwirft — wenn ich wirklich anderen Unrecht getan habe,
Let the enemy persecute my soul, and take it; yea, let him tread down my life upon the earth, and lay mine honour in the dust. Selah.
wenn ich das Vertrauen von Freunden missbraucht oder tatsächlich diejenigen beraubt habe, die mich nun grundlos in die Enge treiben —,
Arise, O LORD, in thine anger, lift up thyself because of the rage of mine enemies: and awake for me to the judgment that thou hast commanded.
dann sollen meine Feinde mich verfolgen, mich einholen und zu Boden treten. Dann habe ich diesen ehrlosen Tod verdient!
So shall the congregation of the people compass thee about: for their sakes therefore return thou on high.
Greif ein, HERR, und strafe sie in deinem Zorn! Stelle dich meinen Feinden entgegen, die so unerbittlich gegen mich wüten! Komm und hilf mir! Du willst doch, dass das Recht wieder beachtet wird!
The LORD shall judge the people: judge me, O LORD, according to my righteousness, and according to mine integrity that is in me.
Versammle alle Völker um dich zum Gericht, nimm deinen Platz hoch oben auf dem Thron ein.
Oh let the wickedness of the wicked come to an end; but establish the just: for the righteous God trieth the hearts and reins.
HERR, du bist Richter über die Völker. Vor aller Öffentlichkeit verschaffe mir Recht, denn du weißt, dass ich unschuldig bin.
My defence is of God, which saveth the upright in heart.
Setz der Bosheit der Bösen ein Ende und richte den wieder auf, der deinen Willen tut! Du, Gott, bist unbestechlich, und niemand kann dich täuschen!
God judgeth the righteous, and God is angry with the wicked every day.
Gott ist für mich wie ein schützender Schild; er rettet den, der aufrichtig mit ihm lebt.
If he turn not, he will whet his sword; he hath bent his bow, and made it ready.
Gott ist ein gerechter Richter, jeden Tag gilt den Bösen sein Zorn.
He hath also prepared for him the instruments of death; he ordaineth his arrows against the persecutors.
Wenn jemand vom Unrecht nicht ablässt, dann schärft Gott sein Schwert, er spannt seinen Bogen und legt an.
Behold, he travaileth with iniquity, and hath conceived mischief, and brought forth falsehood.
Er rüstet sich mit tödlichen Waffen und macht seine Brandpfeile zum Schuss bereit.
He made a pit, and digged it, and is fallen into the ditch which he made.
Ein Mensch, der Gott ablehnt, trägt Bosheit in sich und brütet immer neues Unheil aus. Nichts als Lügen bringt er zur Welt!
His mischief shall return upon his own head, and his violent dealing shall come down upon his own pate.
Doch wer anderen eine Grube gräbt, fällt selbst hinein.
