Ein Psalm Asafs. O Gott, Völker sind eingedrungen in dein Erbe, sie haben deinen heiligen Tempel entweiht, sie legten Jerusalem in Trümmer.
The dead bodies of thy servants have they given to be meat unto the fowls of the heaven, the flesh of thy saints unto the beasts of the earth.
Die Leichen deiner Knechte haben sie zum Fraß gegeben den Vögeln des Himmels, das Fleisch deiner Frommen den Tieren der Erde.
Their blood have they shed like water round about Jerusalem; and there was none to bury them.
Ihr Blut haben sie wie Wasser vergossen rings um Jerusalem und niemand hat sie begraben.
We are become a reproach to our neighbours, a scorn and derision to them that are round about us.
Wir sind zum Hohn geworden unseren Nachbarn, zu Spott und Schimpf denen, die rings um uns wohnen.
How long, LORD? wilt thou be angry for ever? shall thy jealousy burn like fire?
Wie lange noch, HERR? Willst du für immer zürnen, wird brennen wie Feuer dein Eifer?
Pour out thy wrath upon the heathen that have not known thee, and upon the kingdoms that have not called upon thy name.
Gieße deinen Zorn aus über die Völker, die dich nicht erkennen, und über die Königreiche, die deinen Namen nicht anrufen!
For they have devoured Jacob, and laid waste his dwelling place.
Denn sie haben Jakob gefressen und seine Wohnstatt verwüstet.
O remember not against us former iniquities: let thy tender mercies speedily prevent us: for we are brought very low.
Rechne uns die Schuld der Vorfahren nicht an! Mit deinem Erbarmen komm uns eilends entgegen! Denn wir sind sehr erniedrigt.
Help us, O God of our salvation, for the glory of thy name: and deliver us, and purge away our sins, for thy name's sake.
Hilf uns, Gott unsres Heils, um der Herrlichkeit deines Namens willen! Reiß uns heraus und vergib uns die Sünden um deines Namens willen!
Wherefore should the heathen say, Where is their God? let him be known among the heathen in our sight by the revenging of the blood of thy servants which is shed.
Warum dürfen die Völker sagen: Wo ist nun ihr Gott? Lass kund werden unter den Völkern vor unsern Augen, wie du das vergossene Blut deiner Knechte vergiltst!
Let the sighing of the prisoner come before thee; according to the greatness of thy power preserve thou those that are appointed to die;
Das Stöhnen des Gefangenen komme vor dein Angesicht! Durch deinen mächtigen Arm erhalte die Kinder des Todes am Leben.
And render unto our neighbours sevenfold into their bosom their reproach, wherewith they have reproached thee, O Lord.
Siebenfach vergilt unsern Nachbarn den Hohn, mit dem sie dich, mein Herr, verhöhnen!
