I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men;

For kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty.
für die Herrscher und für alle, die Macht ausüben, damit wir in aller Frömmigkeit und Rechtschaffenheit ungestört und ruhig leben können.
For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour;
Das ist recht und wohlgefällig vor Gott, unserem Retter;
Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth.
er will, dass alle Menschen gerettet werden und zur Erkenntnis der Wahrheit gelangen.
For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus;
Denn: Einer ist Gott, Einer auch Mittler zwischen Gott und den Menschen: der Mensch Christus Jesus,
Who gave himself a ransom for all, to be testified in due time.

In like manner also, that women adorn themselves in modest apparel, with shamefacedness and sobriety; not with broided hair, or gold, or pearls, or costly array;

Auch sollen die Frauen sich anständig, bescheiden und zurückhaltend kleiden; nicht Haartracht, Gold, Perlen oder kostbare Kleider seien ihr Schmuck,
But (which becometh women professing godliness) with good works.
sondern gute Werke; so gehört es sich für Frauen, die gottesfürchtig sein wollen.
Let the woman learn in silence with all subjection.
Eine Frau soll sich still und in voller Unterordnung belehren lassen.
But I suffer not a woman to teach, nor to usurp authority over the man, but to be in silence.
Dass eine Frau lehrt, erlaube ich nicht, auch nicht, dass sie über ihren Mann herrscht; sie soll sich still verhalten.
And Adam was not deceived, but the woman being deceived was in the transgression.
