Jehoram Restores the Shunammite’s Land
Now Elisha spoke to the woman whose son he had restored to life, saying, “Arise and go with your household, and sojourn wherever you can sojourn; for the LORD has called for a famine, and it will even come on the land for seven years.”

Elischa sagte zu der Frau, deren Sohn er zum Leben erweckt hatte: Mach dich auf, zieh mit deiner Familie fort und halte dich irgendwo in der Fremde auf; denn der HERR hat eine Hungersnot verhängt. Schon kommt sie über das Land und sie wird sieben Jahre dauern.
So the woman arose and did according to the word of the man of God, and she went with her household and sojourned in the land of the Philistines seven years.
Da machte sich die Frau auf den Weg und tat, was ihr der Gottesmann geraten hatte. Sie zog mit ihren Angehörigen fort und hielt sich sieben Jahre im Land der Philister auf.
At the end of seven years, the woman returned from the land of the Philistines; and she went out to appeal to the king for her house and for her field.
Nach Ablauf von sieben Jahren kehrte sie aus dem Land der Philister zurück und ging zum König, um wegen ihres Hauses und ihrer Felder seine Hilfe zu erbitten.
Now the king was talking with Gehazi, the servant of the man of God, saying, “Please relate to me all the great things that Elisha has done.”
Der König war gerade im Gespräch mit Gehasi, dem Diener des Gottesmannes, und hatte ihn aufgefordert: Erzähl mir alles Große, das Elischa vollbracht hat!
As he was relating to the king how he had restored to life the one who was dead, behold, the woman whose son he had restored to life appealed to the king for her house and for her field. And Gehazi said, “My lord, O king, this is the woman and this is her son, whom Elisha restored to life.”
Während dieser dem König erzählte, wie Elischa den Toten zum Leben erweckt hatte, kam die Frau, deren Sohn er zum Leben erweckt hatte, um wegen ihres Hauses und ihrer Felder die Hilfe des Königs zu erbitten. When the king asked the woman, she related it to him. So the king appointed for her a certain officer, saying, “Restore all that was hers and all the produce of the field from the day that she left the land even until now.”
Nun fragte der König die Frau selbst und sie erzählte ihm alles. Darauf gab ihr der König einen Beamten mit und trug ihm auf: Verschaff ihr alles wieder, was ihr gehört, auch den ganzen Ertrag ihrer Felder von dem Tag an, da sie das Land verlassen hat, bis heute!
Elisha Predicts Evil from Hazael
Then Elisha came to Damascus. Now Ben-hadad king of Aram was sick, and it was told him, saying, “The man of God has come here.”
Elischa kam nach Damaskus, wo Ben-Hadad, der König von Damaskus, krank daniederlag. Man meldete ihm, dass der Gottesmann gekommen sei.
The king said to Hazael, “Take a gift in your hand and go to meet the man of God, and inquire of the LORD by him, saying, ‘Will I recover from this sickness?’”
Darauf befahl der König dem Hasaël: Nimm ein Geschenk, geh dem Gottesmann entgegen und befrag durch ihn den HERRN, ob ich von dieser Krankheit wieder genesen werde.
So Hazael went to meet him and took a gift in his hand, even every kind of good thing of Damascus, forty camels’ loads; and he came and stood before him and said, “Your son Ben-hadad king of Aram has sent me to you, saying, ‘Will I recover from this sickness?’”
Hasaël ging Elischa entgegen; als Geschenk nahm er allerlei Kostbarkeiten von Damaskus mit, so viel, wie vierzig Kamele tragen konnten. Er kam zu Elischa, trat vor ihn hin und sagte: Dein Sohn Ben-Hadad, der König von Aram, hat mich zu dir gesandt und lässt fragen: Werde ich von dieser Krankheit wieder genesen?
Then Elisha said to him, “Go, say to him, ‘You will surely recover,’ but the LORD has shown me that he will certainly die.”
Elischa antwortete ihm: Geh und sag ihm: Du wirst sicher genesen. — Doch der HERR hat mir gezeigt, dass er sterben muss.
He fixed his gaze steadily on him until he was ashamed, and the man of God wept.
Hasaël verzog keine Miene und blickte ihn scharf an. Der Gottesmann aber weinte.
Hazael said, “Why does my lord weep?” Then he answered, “Because I know the evil that you will do to the sons of Israel: their strongholds you will set on fire, and their young men you will kill with the sword, and their little ones you will dash in pieces, and their women with child you will rip up.”
Als Hasaël dann fragte: Warum weint mein Herr?, gab er zur Antwort: Weil ich weiß, wie viel Leid du den Israeliten bringen wirst. Du wirst ihre Festungen in Brand stecken, ihre jungen Männer mit dem Schwert töten, ihre Kinder zerschmettern, ihren schwangeren Frauen den Leib aufschlitzen.
Then Hazael said, “But what is your servant, who is but a dog, that he should do this great thing?” And Elisha answered, “The LORD has shown me that you will be king over Aram.”
Hasaël entgegnete: Was ist denn dein Knecht, dieser Hund, dass er so gewaltige Dinge tun könnte? Elischa antwortete: Der HERR hat dich mir als König von Aram gezeigt.
So he departed from Elisha and returned to his master, who said to him, “What did Elisha say to you?” And he answered, “He told me that you would surely recover.”
Hasaël verließ Elischa und kehrte zu seinem Herrn zurück. Dieser fragte ihn: Was hat Elischa zu dir gesagt? Und er gab zur Antwort: Er hat zu mir gesagt, dass du genesen wirst.
On the following day, he took the cover and dipped it in water and spread it on his face, so that he died. And Hazael became king in his place.
Am folgenden Tag aber nahm er eine Decke, tauchte sie ins Wasser und legte sie ihm über das Gesicht, sodass er starb. Hasaël wurde König an seiner Stelle.
Another Jehoram Reigns in Judah
Now in the fifth year of Joram the son of Ahab king of Israel, Jehoshaphat being then the king of Judah, Jehoram the son of Jehoshaphat king of Judah became king.
Im fünften Jahr Jorams, des Sohnes Ahabs, des Königs von Israel, während Joschafat noch König von Juda war, wurde Joram, der Sohn Joschafats, König von Juda.
He was thirty-two years old when he became king, and he reigned eight years in Jerusalem.
Er war zweiunddreißig Jahre alt, als er König wurde, und regierte acht Jahre in Jerusalem.
He walked in the way of the kings of Israel, just as the house of Ahab had done, for the daughter of Ahab became his wife; and he did evil in the sight of the LORD.
Er folgte den Wegen der Könige von Israel, wie es das Haus Ahab getan hatte; denn er hatte eine Tochter Ahabs zur Frau und er tat, was böse war in den Augen des HERRN.
However, the LORD was not willing to destroy Judah, for the sake of David His servant, since He had promised him to give a lamp to him through his sons always.
Doch der HERR wollte Juda nicht verderben wegen seines Knechtes David, dem er versprochen hatte, er werde ihm eine Leuchte geben und seinen Söhnen für immer.
In his days Edom revolted from under the hand of Judah, and made a king over themselves.

Then Joram crossed over to Zair, and all his chariots with him. And he arose by night and struck the Edomites who had surrounded him and the captains of the chariots; but his army fled to their tents.

So Edom revolted against Judah to this day. Then Libnah revolted at the same time.
Doch Edom fiel von Juda ab und ist abtrünnig bis zum heutigen Tag. Damals, zur gleichen Zeit, fiel auch Libna ab.
The rest of the acts of Joram and all that he did, are they not written in the Book of the Chronicles of the Kings of Judah?

Ahaziah Succeeds Jehoram in Judah
So Joram slept with his fathers and was buried with his fathers in the city of David; and Ahaziah his son became king in his place.
Joram entschlief zu seinen Vätern und wurde bei seinen Vätern in der Davidstadt begraben. Sein Sohn Ahasja wurde König an seiner Stelle.
In the twelfth year of Joram the son of Ahab king of Israel, Ahaziah the son of Jehoram king of Judah began to reign.
Im zwölften Jahr Jorams, des Sohnes Ahabs, des Königs von Israel, wurde Ahasja, der Sohn Jorams, König von Juda.
Ahaziah was twenty-two years old when he became king, and he reigned one year in Jerusalem. And his mother’s name was Athaliah the granddaughter of Omri king of Israel.
Er war zweiundzwanzig Jahre alt, als er König wurde, und regierte ein Jahr in Jerusalem. Seine Mutter hieß Atalja; sie war eine Tochter Omris, des Königs von Israel.
He walked in the way of the house of Ahab and did evil in the sight of the LORD, like the house of Ahab had done, because he was a son-in-law of the house of Ahab.
Er folgte den Wegen des Hauses Ahab und tat, was böse war in den Augen des HERRN, wie das Haus Ahab; denn er war mit dem Haus Ahab verschwägert.
Then he went with Joram the son of Ahab to war against Hazael king of Aram at Ramoth-gilead, and the Arameans wounded Joram.
Er zog auch mit Joram, dem Sohn Ahabs, gegen Hasaël, den König von Aram, nach Ramot-Gilead in den Krieg. Dabei verwundeten die Aramäer Joram.
So King Joram returned to be healed in Jezreel of the wounds which the Arameans had inflicted on him at Ramah when he fought against Hazael king of Aram. Then Ahaziah the son of Jehoram king of Judah went down to see Joram the son of Ahab in Jezreel because he was sick.
