Du selbst hast zahllose Menschen gelehrt, auf Gott zu vertrauen. Kraftlose Hände hast du wieder gestärkt.
Your words have supported those who stumbled;
you have strengthened faltering knees.

War jemand mutlos und ohne Halt, du hast ihn wieder aufgerichtet und ihm neuen Lebensmut gegeben.
But now trouble comes to you, and you are discouraged;

Jetzt aber, wo du selbst an der Reihe bist, verlierst du die Fassung. Kaum bricht das Unglück über dich herein, bist du entsetzt!

Dabei hast du allen Grund zur Hoffnung! Dein Leben war stets tadellos, und Gott hast du von Herzen geehrt. Sei zuversichtlich!

Kannst du mir nur ein Beispiel nennen, wo ein gerechter Mensch schuldlos zugrunde ging?

Im Gegenteil — immer wieder habe ich gesehen: Wer Unrecht sät, wird Unglück ernten!

Denn Gott fegt Übeltäter mit seinem Atem hinweg, mit zornigem Schnauben richtet er sie zugrunde.
